Nice to see Bruce Banner's father make an appearance last night.
I missed this. Who?In the box @ the begining, that was the blue alien, wasn't it?

Lots of mysteries set in motion. Fortunately, I have faith that they'll answer them before the season ends (unlike Lost).
And the body's arm was marked with the kind of writing that Coulson has been doing on the walls.

Also, Fitz knows that he's seeing things, i.e. Simmons.
he does?
Think so. When the bits of the Absorbing Man turned from bullet material back to flesh and blood, Fitz made a face like something was wrong with his head and he was trying to clear it, and asked May if she could see that. When she said she could, his reaction was a relieved exhale and saying "good" in a relieved tone. Suggesting he knows he has been seeing things and thought the flesh changing was another occurrence.Edit to add, I think safe to say he knows he hallucinates. Whether he knows or suspects Simmons is one could go either way. But so far Simmons is the only hallucination we've seen, so I am guessing he at least suspects.

I do recall that!

i thought you meant he knows simmons is not real, i do not think he knows that but maybe he does

I really hope they avoid allowing any redemption for Ward, i am still angry and don;t want him turning good

He doesn't think he is seeing Simmons though, imo.

I don't want it either but I am resigned to the fact that it is coming in some fashion. I just hope it takes all season.

Of course we don't even know if there will be a season 3. Hopefully the ratings will be just good enough.

Remember, Marvel/Disney can also use this as a promotional tool for movies...so maybe that byes it some extra leeway

If they aren't I really hope ScFy picks it up.

I think they will need him to do something out in the field and he will, but he will also escape and go rogue. No way the team ever lets him back in, and I don't think he'll go full heel again.

This is pretty big. They also have the origin shield show coming which they sort of teased in the opening. I think they are invested too much in this to not let it run at least two more years with cross promotion and cross story lines.

Saddened me to see ratings didnt improve after the 2nd half got so much better last season. I agree though that there is too much invested to give up right away. Theres got to be a core contingent of marvel junkies like myself that will watch no matter what.

I don't understand why they insist on a 22 episode season though. Agent Carter is only going to be 8 eps. Maybe they will do something similar to what Once Upon A Time did, and break the major storylines in half for the season but not sure how that would work. Heroes tried that out at one point.

Good episode last night. I kinda like the Fitz still having things in his head, but just not knowing how to get them out. I'm guessing he'll recover more but just be a bit eccentric (i.e. Walter on Fringe)

And the lack of Ward was quite appreciated.

Clearly Fitz does know Simmons is in his head only...

good call by Greg

also liked the lack of Ward, and I really did not think they were gonna kill Lucy Lawless

I wouldn't get too used to that. No spoilers but I think it's a safe guess that Ward will play a big role in the season.

Really looking forward to seeing what's up with Simmons. Skye taking a shot at her caught me by surprise.

My speculation: Using some tricky editing to make it seem like Simmons really has joined Hydra (The "You think I wouldn't find out?" referring to something other than her Hydra membership.) I suspect in reality, Coulson, who was mentioned as going to London in the season premiere (where Simmons is from iirc), convinced her to join Hydra as a double agent.

that's my thought too

I don't think Simmons has turned.

I do think she may be trying to resolve her feelings about Skye and that's a storyline I'd like to see explored. Intimately.

Question about the last episode

Is Kyle Maclachlan's character Skye's father and the same character who we saw Raina talking to at the end of last season?

Yes to the first question and I'm assuming yes to the second as well
I think it was a different actor last season

That's absolutely true.

Last season they talked about the parents returning to the town in a 'monster' state; wonder if that end of season 1 shot was dad in that state.

Yep I agree on your spoiler question.

Was there a black widow Easter egg when Coulson was flipping through the hologram files?

Fiance and I are really enjoying it.

Is Agent 33 new or from existing canon sources? I know Agent 13 from Cap 2 is a fairly significant character.

apparently exists but as a minor character.

Minor enough that my buddy who does the Welcometolevel7 podcast didn't know who she was.

Really liked it too. Really enjoy what they're doing with Fitz. Thought his scene with Ward was great. Enjoying the new additions to the cast as well. I spent all of the first episode trying to figure out where I knew the big black guy who befriends Fitz before I remembered he was on at the end of NYPD Blue's run.

Skye is crazy hot but I am big time  with Simmons.

And the previews for next week with May in a slinky dress? Damn Ming-Na Wen.

Raina character only part I'm not a fan of. Too smug and all-knowing I guess. Kind of generic omniscient badguy with an unknown agenda. Hot though...

she's one that I like a lot. Corporation hit it - she's a true believer, seeking the paranormal truth. She's not "typical" evil, but more of the "I don't care what happens to others, as long as I get what I want" camp.

Apparently I'm in the minority, but I still think the show is clunky and disjointed. Guess I'm missing something.
I am guessing that some of the uber nerd interrelated stuff is what is throwing you off and I love the show and have minor issues with the movie cross tie ins and other random odd comic book crossovers that are out there too. Haven't touched a comic since my teenage years and am totally shuked by some of the references and quick flash easter eggs on the show.

I enjoy but it is clearly not a hit in the ratings so I don't think you are missing anything.

My family is enjoying it. I don't like either actor portraying Ward and Skye(and I think it is more them than the writing) but outside of them the cast is solid and the stories are ok. Nothing great but an enjoyable hour to spend with the family for me as we are all Marvel fans.

It's enjoyable, but it feels exactly like the last half of last season. The odds are stacked against them and things keep getting worse. If it's a pattern of that, then catharsis, back again and repeat it will get old IMO.

Hmmm, she's one of my favorite characters on the show.
I like her too. She's an opportunist and given her latest predicament I'm guessing she'll see an opportunity to try and use Coulson to her advantage and save her skin.
