I am SO glad the NYJ get a shot at Indy here. I've never been a bigger NYJ fan in my life.

the Jets have the same shot to win at Indy they have had against SD and Cinci..

and that is if Indy plays conservatively and plays not to lose rather than come out and attack the defense..

..couple being conservative with penalties and turnovers keeping them in the game it's formed an easy recipe

for the Jets to make this playoff run..

I find it hard to believe that Manning won't shred the Jets dee' by spreading the field and making sure their

offense stays on the attack rather then playing bump and grind against the Jets..

:lmao:

Can the Jets upset the heavily favored Colts in the championship game? I bet at least one loudmouth on the Jets thinks so.

How poetic it would be if the Jets killed the Colts' SuperBowl dreams after the Colts opened the door to their playoff run...

I love all the Colt haters! Keep it coming! This is the matchup I wanted. I want to see the Jets try to beat the Colts when it matters.

This is a great run by the Jets that's about to end.

Cincy was weak...

SD played in a weak division...

Now it's time to face a real team. Let's see what you got!

I'll be pulling for the Jets. Fun team to watch today. After the 1st quarter they played well.. Got to give you props as you were trying to let the masses know.. Congrats on your Jets win & good luck next week..

I was big on the Jets today for one reason, and I stated it in the premature Colts - Jets thread. They caught a little bit of a break going from Cincy > SD for a # of reasons, one being that Rivers does have a propensity to make more mistakes than Manning.

That being said, next week I fully expect Manning to be sharp. Wayne might not even catch a pass but Clark, Collie, Garcon are gonna be too much. Manning just sees this game at a different speed and in the AFC Championship will carve that D up.

I am very happy for the Jets and their fan base. Going to be an exciting week and you are one of two left standing in your conference. Enjoy the next week and take full pride that you are a team that is heading in the right direction, behind one hell of a coach. I hope they pull out all the stops and give us some good entertainment - play to win and not to loose. Throw the kitchen sink at em.

And just think.....an AFCC appearance with a rookie coach, rookie QB and NO Leon Washinton or Kris Jenkins.

I want to put this matchup in perspective in terms of what nonsense the "experts" will say this week:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview09/ne...tory?id=4424374

These are 16 ESPN experts' preseason predictions. None of them had the Jets or the Colts in the Super Bowl this year. Only one of them can even get half of the Super Bowl equation right (one picked New Orleans to represent the NFC).

If you want more recent perspective - the playoff predictions after the regular season - all but one SI.com "expert" picked the Chargers to get to the Super Bowl.

Most of what will be talked about this week by the talking heads will be nonsense. And no one really knows what will happen on Sunday, and I'm not going to pretend that I know.

Colts haters? Where? Now, Rivers I hate... the Colts? Naw. One thing... your team did rob us of the chance to show we could beat you at home. I look forward to this game. I don't think it will be the blowout that so many people say the first game would have been. We shall see.

Yup. As I've said before, I was pissed when the Colts took our their starters because I knew people wouldn't give the Jets credit when they won.

I was just as pissed as you about the decision. People shouldn't give the Jets credit for that win. I don't blame the Jets for that. They played very well against the Colts starters and then whipped their backups. But the fact remains that the Jets offense only scored 3 points until the Colts laid down. Now the Jets I saw tonight are better than the ones from that game for sure. But you can't really give the Jets full credit for the win anymore than you can say the Colts would've won if they had left the starters in (which I will never say would've happened because we just don't know). Polian robbed all of us of that on both sides.

I have a hard time believing in the Jets. Unless they come out and somehow get ahead and start running the ball and eatting up huge amounts of clock they are in trouble. I think Manning will get Indy in the end zone often, and I don't see Sanchez being able to play well from behind.

Beat the Bengals and the Chargers by coming from behind :bag:

The Colts have had an great run this season. Best record, the winning streak, and rebounding to beat the Ravens after a month off. But it doesn't stop there because they are also going to beat the Jets and advance to the Super Bowl. Manning is in the prime of his life and the Jets will not stop him.

Montana was in the prime of his life before the NFCCG following the 1990 season, too.

I wonder if we're going to see some bad calls against the Jets in this game. The networks and league probably feel that the Colts vs. either Minny or NO would be a lot more 'casual fan' friendly.I'm pulling for the Jets. I hope they make Indy pay for being a bunch of Sallys several weeks ago. Or, at least their coach and/or GM.

They did that last time, and they were up 15-10 in the third. Then admittedly, the game wasn't a game anymore. But the Colts starters vs Jets starters was 15-10. Based on what we've seen the last two weeks, I have to think 15-10 in the third isn't going to make Colts fans giddy.

The Jets will have to play better than they have to win. But so will the Colts.

Gonna be fun, for sure!!

The Jets are the AFC team I root for. I never thought they would be SD but now they get their shot at Indy. I hope the Jets can come away with a victory, again, against Indy. Show Indy to not lay an egg when a game matters to at least one team.

The Colts should not get credited with a loss the either I suppose? Thay are still undefeated? You want to discount ST's TD's? Then give the Jets two more wins too. It doesn't work like that. 15-10 in the mid third quarter is no garantee of a win. The Jets running game usually doesn't pay divedends until later in the game, as it did today. But water under the bridge. Lets see what happens now. Loser just has to grovel and beg forgiveness.

What I posted in another thread:

Revis is amazing!

I expect the Colts to continue the 3WR sets and run the ball effectively. I also expect the Colts to move Wayne around quite a bit to isolate Clark or Collie on a safety.

While Green looks good, he is no better than Rice. I think the Colts preparation is shortened as the Ravens and Jets have similar attacks. This is a big advantage IMO.

One thing I'm worried about is the wildcat from the Jets. That is a big advantage for the

IMO.

It is entirely possible that the Jets can win with the Defense and Running game they have. I just think this comes down to QB play. Huge advantage Colts.

I'd call it 23-17 as the Colts seems to play most games close.

I'd just like to point out that the only team in the NFL this year to defeat both of the teams playing in the AFC Championship game was the Buffalo Bills. That is all.

I'm going to be a Jets fan as long as they run here. This story is just too entertaining.
Agreed. Manning is a boring story. Favre is more entertaining as a loser. And the whole New Orleans deserves if because of Katrina thing doesn't work with me. So Chase. My question is what do the Colts need to do to upset the Jets?

The Jets to me are the most boring team to watch in the NFL. I am shocked they made it this far, Cinderella story ends on Sunday. I may not watch the Super Bowl if they win this week.

If it takes you not watching the Super Bowl for the Jets to get there, it's a sacrifice I am willing to make.

How exactly are they boring? They have the best defense in football, cover everything and hit everybody, and have a powerful and top notch running game. I mean, I realize that some people want the real NFL to mimick a madden game where the QB throws bombs every down and racks up 65 points, but football is also about running and defense, and this Jets team does both about as well as you can.I don't find them boring at all. The defense keeps them in every game and the running game can stand up to anyone. Their games are close hard fought battles. That is entertaining football.

In just about every other scenario, I would be rooting for the Colts. But Polian needs to suffer for what he did.

Go. Jets.

Who would have thought this would be the NY team we were talking about at this point in the year? I thought it would have been your G-men.

15-10 in the 3rd quarter... Colts fans.... does this ring a bell? Jets are BETTER than they were in this game. Are the Colts? We'll sure see on Sunday.

GET YA POPCORN READY!

Signed,

A Jets fan livin in Indy.

$1000 bet on the Jets to win the SB PLACED.*

*Ok so I hedged and have another $1000 on Indy and NO to cover the spreads in a parlay this week, but I know where my heart is here.

Watched much of the replay on NFL Network last night...

The Jets got to Manning a few times and were real close a few others - I think they come out this week in Man-to-Man and bring the house from the start... In recent weeks they have been getting the QB more later in the game but, hopefully they have a leg up on Manning's timing early.

The Colts just might be too big a hill to climb for this Jets team but, I look forward to seeing what Rex and Schott come up with ... I think they do a lot more tinkering and game planning than Indy does or even needs to do.

Indy had a lot of success sending Wayne deep and then hitting the underneath routes.....

Seems like they need to put Revis On Wayne - Smack the hell out of Clark all day at the line and hope Strickland/Sheppard/Lowery can contain everything else.

Also Freeney came scott free on two plays - Unbelieveable for that to happen and it can't.

While some stated that it may benefit Indy to play the Jets after playing a very similar Ravens team - I think it goes both ways in that Rex and co get to play off of what the Ravens couldn't do....

:blackdot:

This.Rex Ryan has won me over though. He's my kind of coach.

That is a bizarre hedge, since you lost both bets if the Colts win the game, but don't cover the spread.
