WHAT A WIN!!!

-What a hit by Wright. No one deserves it more than he does, and hopefully it can put some of those "clutch" whispers to bed.

-If not for Cuddyer's mockery of a game, DeGrom would have gone 7 innings with 3 hits, 0 walks (the walk was intentional, and it was a result of the "double") and 12 Ks. Unreal how good he was tonight.

-Granderson is absolutely locked in.

-Most importantly, it's been over 3000 days since our beloved Metsies won a playoff game. No more.

YEAH!!!

Very, very solid all around win. Clippard concerns me a bit, but even with one blip, it stayed one blip. Familia slammed the door.

What an outstanding performance from deGrom. Wright playing such a role, as the only connection to what was a decade ago already - nice all around well played playoff win.

Not only do we get (at least) one game at Chavez Ravine and against one of their two guns, but our guys did not seem in any way fazed. Did not feel tight nor at ALL overwhelmed. I think we need to thank our manager for that. They were focused (mostly), not like a jovial rangers type but rather on point, having fun, doing their jobs and roles and not being at all tight or forced.

It's not one blip. He's been awful for the past 6 weeks. This article does a great job of explaining why it's not a good idea to be giving him high-leverage innings. I'd rather Reed and Goeddel be used ahead of him.

Sorry, I was not clear. I meant as a TEAM, even with the blip, the team got back to business and closed things out. My bad.

But Mets good!!!!

Pretty much word for word how I would have described this game.

I'll be at the Rutgers-Michigan State game tonight, so unless it's a blowout early (very likely) I'll probably try to catch up on DVR when I get home. Thankfully I'll be with all Mets fans so we can have a no phone/no radio embargo for the ride home.

Good luck at the game... hope they don't announce any spoilers or have the crowd do so with any news.

I'll admit that I was on board with getting rid of Collins before the trade deadline.

I'm glad I wasn't in charge.

I will say...even if the Mets don't win another game this year and I know as a Mets fan you are always waiting for the other shoe to drop but it finally feels good to have an amazing bright outlook for the future especially in the SP department,

With good SP you will remain competitive.

Zack Wheeler says don't forget about me!

####### bull####.

That said, to throw that pitch with an 0-2 Count to A Gon is inexcusable.

Let's see what we are made of here.

Where is the baseball equivelant of the "Rules Guy" used to assist announcers during NFL games?

Seriously. It's also not helpful that the booth sucks - minus Ronnie. You need a guy like Gary in there for moments like that.

Darling is pissed I can tell. Announcers have no clue so they're ignoring the elephant in the room now.

Umps may have cost us this game.
