GRIDIRON ASSASSIN

Footballguy
LeCharles Bentley of the Browns

Stretched out on a flatbed cart, LeCharles Bentley covered his face with a towel to hide his disappointment and tears. This wasn't the homecoming he had planned. His first season with the Cleveland Browns ended before it began.

TE Brett Pierce of the Cowboys

AP reports Dallas Cowboys TE Brett Pierce will undergo season-ending surgery after re-injuring the same knee ligament he tore last November. "It's unfortunate because he worked very hard to get back from the original injury," HC Bill Parcells said Sunday. Parcells said the injury wasn't immediately known. It happened Saturday during the second practice on the opening day of training camp, and Pierce finished the workout before getting examined.

Brian Finneran, WR, Atlanta Falcons

Wide receiver Brian Finneran suffered an apparent knee injury during Sunday night's practice and is likely out for the season. According to ESPN, Finneran went down during the Falcons' evening session when his right knee buckled during a non-contact drill. Finneran grabbed the area between his knee and ankle, according to observers, and he was carted off the field

Certainly was buried on my cheatsheets but this is really a big jump this season in injuries.Saw the Klemm injury 1 post before. I think the Pack were going with a rookie at RG this year.

I have a feeling that a lot of players that people thought would be OK are in for a big shock. LJ already is seeing his value drop with the retirment of Willie Roaf...Steve Smith is hurt right now...injuries are always a big part of things...but we haven't had a lot of busted ACLs for the top5-10 preseason RBs in a long time. It can be more things than just ACLs but it could be a long year for FF owners.

And I guess I am saying that this has the makings of some real unknowns taking the FF world by storm because of injuries ahead of them.

Been preaching this for a while now. It is not simply the expected retirement of Roaf, but Welborn is done, Richardson is moved on, and this line is so desperate that Kyle Turley, 2 years out of football, will probably be starting, and was probably going to start before the announcement of Roaf retiring.Add to that, the team is now run by Herman Edwards, who is at best a pushover for a head coach. I see things in KC getting very ugly this year.

I found a smiley for you :bag: Edwards has made the playoffs 3 of 5 seasons, and in the other two he lost his starting QB in the beginning of the season.

You play to win the game!
