I like "My Father's Son" a lot. "Let the Records Play" I'm having a hard time with. I frigging hate country and this is damn near a country song for much of its running time. "Sleeping By Myself" and "Future Days" aren't doing a whole lot for me either. Outside of that, I like it a lot. There are two on the new album that I just cant connect with. All of the others I really enjoy so far.
My fathers son and let the records play
The fact that it's from the uke album is probably the biggest thing that's tempering my enthusiasm for it. I think the album slot could have been better served with another track.I dig sleeping by myself. It of course is from Vedder's Uke album, and I like the treatment done by playing it with the whole band.
It's certainly OK. I think it also feels like a wasted track. They could have done this "remake" and treated it like Setting Forth at some live shows (I think TF mentioned that before). I feel pretty confident in saying one of the last couple songs left off would have been a better fit and better received. The fact that it's from the uke album is probably the biggest thing that's tempering my enthusiasm for it. 01. Pendulum (from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)Set list?
Just figured they wouldn't be playing a song like that in concert anymore. I think I saw them play it at a show in like 96 or so.
i wasnt laughing at you, it was the performanceJust figured they wouldn't be playing a song like that in concert anymore. I think I saw them play it at a show in like 96 or so.
"Everybody loves usss..."
It's been played 2 out of the 4 shows to start this tour and 42% of shows since it's debut in 1991.Just figured they wouldn't be playing a song like that in concert anymore. I think I saw them play it at a show in like 96 or so.
Then who knows when I'll be able to truely judge the songs. Maybe when the next album comes out. Also, I think it's probably not truely fair to judge until you've seen the songs live

LET THE RECORDS PLAYYYYYYY
That is where i got it. Went in at 9:00 and they had none on the shelf. Was with my sister who told me to ask, they had one left in the backTarget had LB tagged $15.99 in store (online $17.99), but LB has been on sale from it's release @ $9.99. Pretty good deal for the silver.
Yeah, from what I gather, they did not receive many copies at my store. My wife was there Monday night and they told her they had 5 in the back but couldn't give her one. I went Tuesday, late in the afternoon, and I got the last copy on the shelf. Thought for sure they'd be gone. That is where i got it. Went in at 9:00 and they had none on the shelf. Pearl Jam’s new single was recorded in homage to Pink Floyd and was inspired after guitarist Mike McCready was ‘blown away’ at a live version of The Wall.
The Seattle band’s latest single Sirens hit stores this week and McCready tells Billboard the track was penned with the aim of having a Pink Floyd feel.
He says: “Before it was called Sirens, it was written two years ago. I was at Roger Waters concert and was completely blown away by The Wall. I wanted to write something that would have a Pink Floyd type feel.
“We recorded a demo of it [but Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder] didn’t put the lyrics on it until the second time we went back in. I heard them the night that he put them on there and they just brought me to tears. This is Ed at his best in my mind.”
Interesting, but I did not get a Pink Floyd vibe at all. That's probably for the best since I don't enjoy Floyd.Pearl Jam’s new single was recorded in homage to Pink Floyd and was inspired after guitarist Mike McCready was ‘blown away’ at a live version of The Wall.

Thanks for the tip. Broke down and bought the CD, which means the vinyl will come today (Target was out of stock, but Best Buy price matched it). Of course every time I play it on vinyl in the truck it skips anytime I hit a bump, so the CD will be useful. Can't wait to hear Let the Records Play and imagine Zilla singing it.Target had LB tagged $15.99 in store (online $17.99), but LB has been on sale from it's release @ $9.99. That was a cool interview....until the end.Linky
I didn't see this interview posted, sooo...Eddie Vedder has a cell phone now, but he's not entirely happy with the whole idea.

Yeah, that part sucked. Like any die hard fan, I don't like mention of taking breaks. This was the longest spread between records, correct? In one interview they seemed to have an attitude of "that sucked" which implied "the next break won't be as long." Now this? Ugh.I was thinking the sabbatical"Just take away that it's really great album artwork. That's a compliment I can accept."That was a cool interview....until the end.Linky
