There are two on the new album that I just cant connect with. All of the others I really enjoy so far.

I like "My Father's Son" a lot. "Let the Records Play" I'm having a hard time with. I frigging hate country and this is damn near a country song for much of its running time. "Sleeping By Myself" and "Future Days" aren't doing a whole lot for me either. Outside of that, I like it a lot.

I dig sleeping by myself. It of course is from Vedder's Uke album, and I like the treatment done by playing it with the whole band.

The fact that it's from the uke album is probably the biggest thing that's tempering my enthusiasm for it. I think the album slot could have been better served with another track.

It's certainly OK. I think it also feels like a wasted track. They could have done this "remake" and treated it like Setting Forth at some live shows (I think TF mentioned that before). I feel pretty confident in saying one of the last couple songs left off would have been a better fit and better received.

Also, My Father's Son is growing on me.

Jonathan Cohen, musical director for Fallon and author of the PJ20 book saw tonight's set list in Worcester and tweeted that hardcore fans were going to go nuts.

So far Cropduster had made an appearance!

Set list?
01. Pendulum (from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

02. Low Light

03. Given To Fly

04. Do The Evolution

05. Mind Your Manners (from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

(Ed-”Long time no see. It has been like, twenty hours since we saw some of you. We went pretty hard last night so I might be a little short on voice tonight so I will take all the help I can get. This next song is a letter from a son to his father thanking him for all the genetic mutants gifts his father gave him. It’s called ‘Father Son’)

06. My Father’s Son-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

(“This next song is written by our friend and the best drummer ever, Matt Cameron. Oh, I forgot his middle name, Matt ‘#######’ Cameron. We don’t play this song that much. It is called “Cropduster”)

07. Cropduster

08. Wishlist

09. Sirens-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

(“We touched on it last night but I wanted to say again tonight that we were in Seattle mixing the record when the bombing happened. We watched how the city pulled together and we were pulling with you. It felt to us like it had happened to our friends.”)

10. I Am Mine

11. Lukin

12. Not For You

13. Down

14. State Of Love And Trust

15. Lightning Bolt-(from the new album “Lightning Bolt”)

As he winds through hallways he ends up right behind home plate and snapped a couple of Polaroids. “And now 20 plus some years later we are in the front row watching David Ortiz put on a baseball miracle. This next song is a request by one of you local compatriots.”)

17. Other Side

(Ed tells the crowd that they are not missing anything concerning the Red Sox game. “You will get them next game and when they get back home.” “This next song is for the newlywed couple in the corner. In this part of the world you folks were first in a number of things. Anesthesia, I know a lot about anesthesia. Valentine’s day, (?you were the first to mass produce valentines day cards?) oh and contraception. See all these things are connected.”)

18. Future Days

Encore Break 2

(Ed introduces the audience to a man who has been at all of the arena shows in Boston that the band has played. Ed says he always looks forward to seeing him and thought he might miss him by being in Worcester. But the gentleman was in the back when Ed showed up and he couldn’t have been happier. “No one knows how long he has been working because no one has worked longer. Ladies and gentlemen I would like you to meet **** Dauphinee. He needs to come up here because he belongs up here.” Mr. Dauphinee gets on the stage to much applause.)

25. Smile

26. Once

27. Alive

28. Baba O’Riley-(Townshend)

Just figured they wouldn't be playing a song like that in concert anymore. I think I saw them play it at a show in like 96 or so.
i wasnt laughing at you, it was the performance

but they play SOLAT often. Im sure TF can tell you the exact amount of times and dates it was played

Well hope they play it Friday. Looks like you had a good set list with a good mix of old and new.

Soooo? NY PJGuys- anyone else is going to Barclays this weekend? Friday or Saturday? :headbang:

Target had LB tagged $15.99 in store (online $17.99), but LB has been on sale from it's release @ $9.99. Pretty good deal for the silver.

Yeah, from what I gather, they did not receive many copies at my store. My wife was there Monday night and they told her they had 5 in the back but couldn't give her one. I went Tuesday, late in the afternoon, and I got the last copy on the shelf. Thought for sure they'd be gone.

Pearl Jam’s new single was recorded in homage to Pink Floyd and was inspired after guitarist Mike McCready was ‘blown away’ at a live version of The Wall.

The Seattle band’s latest single Sirens hit stores this week and McCready tells Billboard the track was penned with the aim of having a Pink Floyd feel.

He says: “Before it was called Sirens, it was written two years ago. I was at Roger Waters concert and was completely blown away by The Wall. I wanted to write something that would have a Pink Floyd type feel.

“We recorded a demo of it [but Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder] didn’t put the lyrics on it until the second time we went back in. I heard them the night that he put them on there and they just brought me to tears. This is Ed at his best in my mind.”

Interesting, but I did not get a Pink Floyd vibe at all. That's probably for the best since I don't enjoy Floyd.

I did with Pendulum for some reason, but not Sirens. I enjoy Floyd.

None of The Floyd?

Well, I won't change the station if The Wall comes on, and I like Learning to Fly, but that's about it.

Thanks for the tip. Broke down and bought the CD, which means the vinyl will come today (Target was out of stock, but Best Buy price matched it). Of course every time I play it on vinyl in the truck it skips anytime I hit a bump, so the CD will be useful. Can't wait to hear Let the Records Play and imagine Zilla singing it.

You have a turntable in your truck dude?

Eddie Vedder has a cell phone now, but he's not entirely happy with the whole idea.
I didn't see this interview posted, sooo...
That was a cool interview....until the end.
"Just take away that it's really great album artwork. That's a compliment I can accept."

:lmao:
I was thinking the sabbatical
Yeah, that part sucked. Like any die hard fan, I don't like mention of taking breaks. This was the longest spread between records, correct? In one interview they seemed to have an attitude of "that sucked" which implied "the next break won't be as long." Now this? Ugh.

Last time I use Pearl Jam site to order CD. They sent me out shipping notice 10/4 and I saw they were sending to an old address from 4+ years ago. Immediately e-mailed, hoping they could fix with 11 days until scheduled delivery. Never got a response. Tried two more e-mails since and still nothing.
