***Official Pearl Jam Thread*** (4 Viewers)

I meant to post this after the first time I saw the movie....this entire time, I never put it together until they showed the lyrics to "Blood" on the screen: "Paint Ed big....turn Ed into....one of my enemies"

I had no clue that song was about him getting famous :bag:

I love that ####### song

Watching it again. I find the whole dynamic of the early band fascinating. If McCready doesn't convince Stone to bring Jeff into the mix, who knows?

Just awesome band mythology

Also, much respect to Chris Cornell...he was uber gracious the whole time, especially during TotD

Getting chills remembering Chris at PJ20.

Was thinking the EXACT same thing. I always just thought "painted big...turned him into...one of my enemies". Have to say I understand that song alot more now. Also, during the Headbangers Ball part....I'm assuming Mike's permanent markered "Bath Tub Gin" shirt was more of a prohibition/I love alcohol thing rather than a Phish reference? Pretty sure Lawn Boy came out around the same time as that footage...but doubt there is a link there.

Just caught this in an email I just got

Pearl Jam Twenty Available with Movies On Demand

Following the limited theater engagement, Pearl Jam Twenty will be available on demand starting September 24th. Check your local cable or satellite provider for availability
And then after that they showed a backpack that was 65 bucks and already sold out. really?
Funny, I have a friend who's an atty for Patagonia -- GREAT company with great products. Anyway, he said they did some PJ pack; this was it. That was actually a Patagonia (Refugio) backpack and it retails on their website for $75 (just looked). Ironically enough, that is probly the best product for the best price they've ever offered, haha. I walked into Patagonia with this roller suitcase I beat the crap out of for 5 years and told them that the handle is sticking when I try to slide it out. They didn't blink and said to grab a new one. Retail $350. Walked out in one minute without showing receipt, signing or anything. They back their #### up big-time. That PJ pack basically has a great warranty as well, lol.

Catchin up on thread, about to hipple some so excuse me...
You wanna know what's crazy??? That pack has been going for upwards of $600 the last few days. 600 ####### dollars! Unreal. LINK. We all should've tried to buy the damn thing.

Got me a pint of Faithfull Ale tonight. Local bev store got in 24 pints today and they were down to 4 in a few hours once they posted what came in on FB at 3pm. One per person...was the same way in Charlotte per my buddy there.

Dogfish tweeted the other day they are brewing another batch that will be out before the new year. The local store here said he expects to get more.

I hooped tonight so I'm not drinking it now. I probably will save it for a good football night or something.

I am not a huge Pearl Jam fan, and as such, this is my first time in this thread, but I just thought I'd share that the new Google Music market has a free Pearl Jam album available for download to Google Music users. Live from Toronto on 9/11/11 I think

ETA: does this link work?

This was a great show from what I remember. Does it cost money to be a google music user

No... apparently they ask for a CC# to put on file when you try to download your 1st free song, but a GB of mine just canceled out when they asked for the information, and they have not asked again. My CC# is already on file from using the android market.

If you have access to Demonoid the bonus film "The Kids Are 20" is up there

The alternate version, or The Kids Are Twenty version, was Crowe’s original vision for the film. Speaking earlier this month with Rolling Stone, he explained that “we were just going to do an archival study of them – a real straight [The Who's] Kids Are Alright kind of account of all the stuff that was in the vaults that had never been released. ”“We got halfway through. We actually have a version of the movie that’s like that, which will come out on the DVD, called The Kids Are 20 – it’s the movie with just performance and very little talk. But about halfway through, we were saying, ‘You know, it would be really great to go in there now and talk to the guys about all this stuff. But let’s talk to them in their houses, where they’re most personally comfortable, and ask them conversational questions. Let’s get them as guys on film.’ So that’s what we did.”

So, I downloaded the app and bought this album for free. Any idea how to listen to it on the phone? Nothing is in my recent adds or playlists.ETA: Nevermind. It didn't automatically link to my google account. I had to edit the settings.

I'll see what I can do. Website shows 2 locations that have it in Manhattan. I'll call em up and see if they have any left. It's funny, before you posted this it didn't even occur to me to find it, but now I think it would be cool to have a bottle or two.

Soooo... still haven't seen PJ20. Wanting to wait on the BluRay but it's getting to be very difficult.
It's great. I'm obviously biased, but I have it DVRed, and it has become my go to for "nothing else is on" itis
I'll admit that I fell off the PJ express around Vitalogy, but this might be one of my favorite band docs ever made. I've even downloaded Untitled (avacado) and No Code because of it. Kind of find my self questioning what I was thinking by putting them on the 'pay no mind' list for so long.

See if you can pick one up for me (or if you drink it, Ill buy the empty bottle from you). I just want to display it in my basement.

DirecTV wants to charge me $7 each and every time I want to watch it. So is that what you're doing, or how are you pulling this off?
Probably has the PBS American Masters DVR'd.

Can you not DVR the PPV?
Yes, but even on my list, when I selected it again to watch it off my DVR, it said it would charge me again.

Yeah, I DVRed the PBS version. Didn't have a chance to check out the beer store today, but should tomorrow. Acer, if I can get it, I'll pick you up a bottle.

Just renewed my 10 Club membership, so any reqs on shows to download, as I got the free code as part of the process? No biggie, as I can likely get them by other means, but been a while since I've been in the thread, so figured someone hear would be in the know.

Gotta go look for some Faithfull Ale as well (a few stores in my area are listed as possible having it).

ETA: "Long Gone" was the message from my local stores, but Dogfish is planning another batch. My Whole Foods took my name/number and said they would hold a bottle (it is wine bottle size) and call once they get it in. So, you may be able to work a similar deal if interested

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I got PJ20 soundtrack from the library. I like it quite a bit. Some of these early tracks sound very raw but they cleaned them up so the sound is pristine. I dont know if that makes sense but I really like the sound of this CD.

* Library is awesome. I get all my tax dollars back by downloading their stuff.

They're about to open one up within walking distance to my house. Hopefully they'll have good stuff.

Amen. But only because of the innerwebs invention...since we all (well at least me) can reserve A/V items and books, for those of you that read, online and get instant notification (texting in my case, some get phone calls or emails) when they are on the reserved shelf ready for pick up. Our library system is like 40 libraries sharing resources. Amazing.
