I never stood in line for beer.
we were down on the floor, and there only appeared to be a few places that were selling beer, and the lines were crazy. that being said, once the show started - i didnt go looking for any. and when they came back from the rain delay they stopped selling on the floor

Ah, that makes more sense. We had hawkers by about every 5 mins.

Now, the Merch lines...

Sitting in the airport trying to upload videos. Flight delayed about 2 hours. I should have paid the $350 to get on the earlier flight out on time. The wife would have LOVED that, but this sucks.

so i admit, i had taken a sneak peak at the setlist that was floating around just to see how long it was. so i saw release>nothingman>present tense, and then i saw the closers but didnt pay attention to anything else.

the guy i was with is my biggest PJ B&M fan, and he lost his dad while he was a kid..he had never seen release before, so safe to say it was a treat for him and im very glad he got it.

While it was only 7 songs, the first set was really good. I ####### love come back, and elderly woman has a new meaning for me now that my boys love that song.

then the weather.

iif you had been following the weather all week, you knew that there was going to be rain. i was hoping it would come in the afternoon, but it didnt. i know the wrigley folks were being cautious, but we had evacuated for about an hour before the first rain came (there was some lightening, but it appeared to be in the distance. oh well, whatever...but it was a ####### ridiculous 2.5 hours. b/c we were on the floor, we were literally ushered to below stands along the right field line. it was hot as ####, no concessions, bathrooms were far, etc.

after it stopped raining, folks moved outside, but then some more rain came, and we went under the right field bleachers, which gave us some more room, so that was better. i had a few folks with connections, and they texted me saying that they were going to come on around 11:30 and play til 2. solid...im not going to lie, there were a few times where i thought they were going to cancel the show, and i wasted $500 on flights and tickets and stuff. but they redeemed themselves

at this point it had literally been about 6 hours since i had anything to drink (beer or water), so i was had a bit of headache from being dehydrated/a tad hungover...so that made it sort of a pain to sing loudly during the screaming parts (Im a singer at concerts).

anyway, they absolutely destroyed it after the delay. yall saw the setlist, but chloe dancer/crown of thorns was the highlight for me. Mother and Porch were awesome as well.

this was my 18th full PJ show, and they didnt disappoint. cant wait for the new album :headbang:

getting out of the venue was one of the worst experiences of my life. b/c of the delay, literally everyones phone was dead. plus, i dont think the cabbies go the message that the show got extended to noon...so there were no cabs in the area with 50k people exiting the venue. so we started walking.

and walking

and walking (I never knew chicago had such a vibrant african american homosexual population)

and walking

finally, 2.5 miles down the road, we catch a cab to bring us to the hotel.

when i finally hit the bed i had been up for 23 straight hours. i woke up at 11:30, showered, ate some pizza and am chilling getting ready to leave for phish in a few.

I much prefer outdoor venues, but there is always the risk that Mother Nature is going to be a beeyotch. Sounded great on the webcam, so it had to be tenfold better inside. What's the album release date again? Isn't it October??

Was SLBD here for this? I suspect I may have just "met" him in the airport.
havent seen him post for awhile, forgot to send him a text to see if he was here.thx for the pm letting me know you were here
I started to set something up with hack and realized v quickly after landing that things were going to be a little nuts. At that point I gave up any hope of meeting up with anybody.

We were along the 3rd base line. A lot of people from the field came up into the stands and hung out with us. I was buzzing pre-rain, but the rain delay got me ####ed up. Nothing to do but socialize, get wet, and drink heavily

Yeah we ended up walking 3+ miles, got to the El and there were at least 1,000 people waiting for the train. Left there and kept walking. Finally got to the train station at 4AM, they didn't open untli 5AM.

Boarded a train at 6:30... was up for over 26 straight hrs : :hangover:

He's from SD, yes?
He's everywhere. Did you really meet him?
I was looking for another option since my flight was a couple hours delayed (sitting on the runway now. air traffic control suspended right now because of tornado warnings. I may never leave). I passed this shortish blond guy who saw my PJ t-shirt and asked if I enjoyed the show. I was in a hurry, so I gave a quick response and kept walking. When I looked back over my shoulder, though, I saw his backpack said PJ20. It kept gnawing at me that he looked familiar, but I couldn't place why. Then I realized it was SLB's pic of the two of them. If it wasn't him, it looked a lot like him. When I went back, he was gone. The gate he'd been at was a flight to San Diego.

My BIL's friend ran the London show. I have a pic of Eddie and the friend as well as the gifts that they gave the band. Happy to upload them to Flickr if anyone cares.

Yeah, that was Sonny. Super cool peeps.

Tons of PJ Wrigley shirts on EBay, bids in the $80-120 range.

My wife still gives me hell about the Spectrum shirt I got for $100.

Crunch time is six days away. I dont think I have ever tried to buy tickets on line as soon as they go on sale. I was old school standing in line for tickets way back when. Is it as easy as logging on to ticket master and hitting buy tickets? Any advice from you guys? Is it possible to request a certain section or does ticket master just pick the best available?

I am interested in sitting nearest McCready. I dont want to be on the floor. I want to be right in that first section stage right. I am looking at the Glendale show. When they say tickets go on sale at 10:00am is that eastern standard? I live in Az so that would mean 7:00am for me.

It is good to have a back up plan.

I am so confused. Can't figure out if Hartford tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster.com or ComcastTix.com. Have seen both in multiple places. Have also seen on sale dates of 7/27 and 7/28 for each site. What a mess. I hope it's TM. Never thought I'd give TM props, but Comcast's site is a mess, always locks up.

I googled tips for getting tickets on ticketmaster. It mentioned that sometimes bands will release a password for a presale through their club. Is this something PJ has done in the past? If that did happen I would hear about it here from you guys, right?

I dont really want to join any clubs.

For a long time, yes. I think you might be misinterpreting some posts in here. I have tickets for Buffalo for example, which was mentioned earlier. That lotto (first time they did it lotto style) was completed 7/15.

I think you should be fine trying online and if you unluckily strike out there are generally ways to get tickets where you are not spending more than face value (forums, ebay/stubhub, outside the venue pre-show, at the pre-show fan club party, etc). Since you are local, you have some avenues at worst case.

I understand the ten club and you guys getting first seats. The thing I read made it sound like there is sometimes a password for the general public. It reccommended joing radio stations and band sites twitter accounts to get that info. It was a generic article not specific to any one band.

* I am probably stressing out to much about this. I tend to do that :bag:

I see. I'm not sure about radio and twitter accounts....but I do know season ticket holders at the venue in question usually get dibs also. I think you'll be fine.

A very cool thing about 10C members is the strict code against reselling tickets above face value. So the cheapest way to get close to the stage if you're not a member is to frequent the PJ forum and look out for someone who has an extra.

If you do TM, prepare to sit upstairs unless you get really lucky. Have some friends try too if possible, to increase your odds of getting close. Ebay/Stubhub will have better seats but you'll pay at least double face value.

Another thing you could try...on the day of the show, check TM starting at 10AM and throughout the day. That is when the band releases their extra tickets that were held for family and friends. These are always middle floor in arenas or middle 10th-15th row in sheds. Great seats. I've done this a few times when I decided to hit a show at the last minute.
