***Official Pearl Jam Thread*** (1 Viewer)

I think JZilla generously sent out a compilation, but not sure if this was posted:

GREEN HABIT: A COMPREHENSIVE LIVE PEARL JAM COMPILATION

This project contains 10 CDs worth of live Pearl Jam material. Included in this compilation is a version

of every original song they have played live, as well as most of the covers they have performed live.

The Pearl Jam community has been blessed over their years with a tremendous wealth of live material. It

has come in many forms, from several audience recordings to FM broadcasts to official bootlegs released by

the band itself. This project is an attempt to give you the cream of the crop from these recordings.
Your bt client should let you pick individual songs or just get the whole thing.
Very nice. Beats my 6-disc nonsense. Even has Arc!
Can we put this on the hoof?

I grabbed it.. it's just too big for the hoof.. I don't have that much server space.

So I was just surfing around Best Buy and I saw this cd. It's a collection of PJ songs but to string music. You can listen to 30 second snippets, and it sounds pretty cool IMO.

anyone have the whole thing that I could "borrow" :blackdot:

Bush still in the White House...
PJ needs to let that rest. When they were getting booed vociferously at the onset of this war for being anti-Bush, Ed basically pleaded with the audience to hear him out, saying (paraphrased) : "What's great about America is that everyone's entitled to his/her opinion. We have freedom of speech, and not everyone has to agree, but everyone has a right to have his/her voice be heard. That's what makes America great, not Pizza Hut, not Walmart, etc..."But now that their stance has suddenly become the popular opinion, they're going to say : "Well, your state voted for Bush, so we're not playing there." WTF happened to freedom of thought and expression now?

No link, this is just speculation. I don't see what else the reason is (despite the vague comments about a "Southern tour not being financially viable.") Yeah, right.

I hear you EG. I'm still hoping to catch a Birmingham or Nawlins show with my boy TF.. if they do decide to play the South again

It is speculation, but I really don't think that PJ would be the type to just outright screw such a large section of the country just because those states voted for Bush.Honestly, I would just like a concrete answer from the band. Financially not being viable is BS, b/c they've sold out Atlanta/Dallas/Houston/Tampa recently.

Exactly, and that's what I read from Jeff was the reason. So, if it isn't that, what else is it?

Oh and another thing.....if you guys ever want to complain about the people on this board; just spend a few days on the PJ message board. Those guys are absolute idiots. They need a severe dose of !

Aw, I was hoping for some new info. Not that present tense isn't awesome....just sad there's no new info on a tour or something.

Possibly the most underrated PJ song ever.Definitely in my top 5
A lotta people would agree, but I could never get into that song. Actually, one of my least favorites for some reason. Lyrics are good though...

The live versions from the last tour are ridiculous

Just got the Gorge set from tenclub. Epic.
Got mine today. Very cool.
 And RE: Present Tense, it has always been one of my favorites, but as a previous poster said, they really took it to new heights on the past tour...So hard to cut it down to 5, but if I had to, I guess my top 5 PJ songs would be (in no particular order):Given to FlyLeashPresent TenseBlackLove Boat Captain

Oh yeah, it's damn near impossible, my real top 5 would probably have 30+ sing in it...My sis is 21 and doesn't really know a lot of PJ and she asked for 5 songs, and the aforementioned were the ones I was digging at that moment...Going to be a real poignant show in Denmark today...

my current top 5

Yeah, the interplay between Mike and Boom on Crazy Mary on the last tour was amazing...Just incendiary playing by both, and if you got a chance to see them do it live it was even better as Mike goes over to Boom's organ and they go "toe to toe" if you will...Sick, sick playing...Boom really added a lot to the band when he joined, IMO...

Color me curious- What kinda play are they giving Come Back these days? When I caught them at the Tweeter last May they were pretty true to the album version at 5 mins and change. I'm thinking they could do some great stuff with a blues tune like that...stretch it out a bit. Anyone?
