So where should we pick him in rookie drafts?  Realize this may seem like a joke but a reliable young kicker who doesn't miss can make the difference between winning and losing in FF.

Right now looking to jump on him with my 3.01 rookie pick. What are others thoughts and is he worth using a pick on?

What kicker do you currently have rostered? ... Or list the top 5 free agent kickers in your league

right now i have mason crosby and chris boswell rostered.  would like to get younger and replace Crosby with Aguayo.

***Also i realize how ridiculous this thread may seem, but a PK getting picked in the 2nd round can be a plug and play guy for 10+ years.  Truly feel he has value.

I get what you're saying about the value in having a top end kicker locked up for 10 years.  The problem is that these kickers that get drafted early in the NFL don't really turn out to be that.  Guys like Seabass and Nugent weren't really anything special in fantasy for any major length of time.

True, guess kickers are hard to really invest in but love the spot.  TB looks like an up and coming young offense and with the investment they made he should be their guy for years to come.  Plus he has never missed a FG inside 40 yards.  that extra 2-3 points a game can make a difference.

Which kickers are missing a FG a week inside of 40?

Very few, if any, NFL kickers are 100% from 40 and in.  tons of games are lost by misses inside that range.  of course the college FG's are easier but it's still unheard of for a college kicker to have that kind of accuracy.  If he can be the difference maker in just one FF matchup he's very valuable.

Not saying he's worth a high rookie pick, but once it gets to 3rd round of rookie drafts why not.  most guys drafted in that range end up worthless.

Look back at last year's draft.  What area in the draft would you trade more than half the players selected, even in hindsight,  for a good kicker?   If the league is idp, we get around picks 45-50 before I'd consider it - after fowler, Smelter, Mario Edwards, bud Dupree, etc.  I think this year is weaker offensively but maybe better for defense, so around late 4th in idp.  If your league is offense only, 3rd wouldn't be outlandish if you think Aguayo is a top 6 kicker.

i don't play IDP but he would definitely slide in that format.  In non-IDP, which i play, am considering him with 3rd round pick.  Feel confident he can be a top 5 kicker for a long time in the TB offense.

I've never seen a kicker traded in any of my leagues as anything other than a throw-in. I've never seen Gostkowski traded for any kind of a pick and I wouldn't value this guy anywhere near him. Gostkowski is usually first off the board in startups but even then it's mid to late teens at the earliest. Rather use the pick on a flier and if he does anything be able to flip immediately or hold onto. A kicker won't ever give you the ability to do this. He won't have any trade value regardless of whether he is a perennial top 5 kicker and during offseason he eats up a valuable roster spot that you otherwise can use on upside plays.

This is worth looking at as a good gauge.  My main league had 5 kickers traded early last season as other than throw-ins (it's a really active league), all for future picks.  Prater for a 6th, Bullock for two 7ths, Blair Walsh for a 7th, Catanzaro for a 5th, and Barth for two 6ths.

The last point is spot on too, and kickers can always be found on the wire.

If you really want him,  think he's the next Gostkowski and the Bucs offense is going to become the Patriots, by all means use a 3rd. I'd bet he'll be picked around there in a few leagues.
