Overly conservative for the first three Quarters...just like the bull#### he pulled against Philly. Additionally, should've thrown the fade to Fitz....radio analysts are all over him for that here in Phoenix....stupid, stupid call.Steelers played great, but the Cards were the better team IMHO...when the coaches actually let them play.

No not really, even Madden questioning his playcalling in the 3rd quarter....the guy sucks balls. Has his players yelling at him all the time. On radio after the game, apparently Fitz was yelling at him in the locker room.Haley called one pass play over 20 yards for the first 2 1/2 quarters...one pass play over 20 yards...are f'ing kidding me. The Steelers don't have a single player that can come close to guarding Fitz, and Fitz has one target in the first half.Haley is a joke...and pretty much every Cards fan I know hates the guy.

you're right, they had about 3 players guarding Fitz in the first half, thus the reason Warner kept going to Breaston. Trust me, if Fitz was even an option, they would have forced it to him. Pittsburgh has a GREAT defense. Not good. Not above average. GREAT. Give them a little respect, because that's obviously what Haley did in not trying to bomb it out there on low percentage plays that could have resulted in turnovers that would have hamstrung them greatly. They were winning the game with 2 minutes left. If their D stopped Pittsburgh, we wouldn't be hearing any of this. The offense did it's job, the D couldn't hold it in the end. It was a great game.

Yeah...Arians is kind of sucky too, but he can afford to be conservative because he's got an all-world defense.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying throw into double coverage, but Boldin and Breaston are both capable downfield WRs....the Steelers were not double covering all 3. One pass play over 20 yards for the first half+ is just plain ridiculous...and failing to call the fade to Fitz at the end of the first half cost the team a 14 point swing.

I really really hate this sort of simplistic analysis. You see some plays that work in the 4th quarter, and then you wonder why the team didn't try them out the whole game. Of course it never occurs to you that perhaps the reason those plays work is that they were set up with previous plays.
An example: Cardinals fans are critical of their OC persisting in calling so many running plays when they were not working. But by doing so, it keeps Casey Hampton on the field for the Steelers. If the Cards had attempted a spread em out, pass only offense from the beginning, the Steelers would have substituted Hampton for Lawrence Timmons or an extra safety, as they did in the last drive. This would equal no open Larry Fitzgerald. But because the Cards kept trying to run, the Steelers were forced to keep Hampton in. That essentially created an 11 on 10 mismatch for Arizona which they capitalized on with some great passing by Warner.
It's always a chess match in there. Fans like LHucks and others who agree with him really have no clue of the details that go into to preparing an offensive and defensive scheme.

The Cards lost the game because of 11 penalties for 106 yards and really bad defensive play after the two minute warning.Francisco and Rodgers-Cromatie looked like pop-warner-kids on the 40-Yard-pass to Holmes with about 1 minute left and the TD-pass in three man coverage was horrible defensive play. That's the reason why the Cards lost, not the play calling in the offense.Horrible play calling once again. Please go to KC...you're not wanted here.

Thats the cardinals team I was used to seeing, same team that opened up the 2nd half against Philly, and the same team that would let the rest of the NFC west go up and down the field on them during the regular season. I was rooting hard for Arizona but when they get up that defense just cant stop the pass, even when they know its coming.You are in the superbowl and just made one of the great comebacks > you get a holding penalty in your favor and let a pretty inferior offense go 82 yards in less than 2 minutes without even forcing a fourth down.Defense was pretty bad when given the lead. While the OP is clearly insane, I have to admit I was surprised how buttoned up the Cards were in general on offense until the fourth quarter. (I mean, didn't we hear about Wisenhunt's trick-play obsession for the last two weeks?) I'm not saying Haley was great or horrible, just that I was surprised how conservative they were.

Can't agree with the OP that Haley cost them the game, but one of the few statistical areas where the Steelers were less than stellar defensively was two minute defense and I thought the Cards might try to work that angle a little more. I was surprised the Cards didn't go no huddle at some point earlier in the game, if not to exploit that potential weakness, to at least feel it out.

Those quick slants near the goal line have worked for them all season. I actually told my friends right before the play that I expected them to do a quick slant to Fitz or Boldin. Not a bad call, just a horrible read by Warner. He should have thrown it away and they probably would have done the fade on the next play.
