I thought the first Cena/Owens match was the match of the year, but this one was even better... holy crap

Two good matches. Actually two great matches, but that's not going to cut it for a PPV/special event/whatever.

But man, that last match just shows how awesome Rollins is.

 
I liked the MiTB match, and my kids bought into every false finish. I really didn't see the Wyatt interference coming...

Cena/Owens killed it again. I really hope it simmers for a bit and pay off the rubber match at SummerSlam.

I was in and out of the main event since the NBA finals game was distracting me.

I also thought Paige/Nikki put in some solid work.

Agreed, he takes so many bumps and sells moves like very few in the biz can. He deserves to be where he is

It was a great match, but I wouldn't even call it the match of the night, or as good as their match at Elimination Chamber for that matter. I'd probably take the triple threat at Rumble over it too, and that is just Cena matches.

Rollins/Ambrose much was better in my eyes, that was the best 1 on 1 ladder match I've seen in several years. I loved the little touches of Rollins leading Ambrose away from the ring, with the logic that if something goes wrong, Ambrose's knee isn't in good enough shape to capitalize, and if Rollins gets the upper hand, Ambrose shouldn't be able to make it back to the ring in time. Whenever Ambrose got some momentum, Rollins went back to the knee. Or how they countered each others counters on numerous occasions. I loved how they were both basically on spaghetti legs by the end of the match(Ambrose probably most of the match) and even HHH coming out after the match, which could have just been as a congrats, but also works as a sort of obstacle preventing Sheamus from cashing in.

They played them as equals the entire match, even the ending could have gone either way. This was the 1st time that we've got the Rollins championship match we've been waiting for since he became champion. He finally got to look like the champion he's been 100% capable of being all along. This was the best match Ambrose has had in the company, he looked like a million bucks as a an extremely gritty guy who never gave up in the face of adversity and only lost because of bad luck.

I thought the tag title match was nice for what it was, good for the PTP.

Paige/Nikki went exactly like I thought it would the second Paige said the match was for Dusty. Though I would have loved if the pin counted anyway, just to get the Bellas split up, which would benefit Nikki a ton. I liked that they gave it time, if they start doing that regularly maybe the crowd will react to it, because it takes me a little out of the match when the crowd is silent and I can hear all the spots being called. Say what you want about the NXT crowds chanting for the sake of chanting, but that is WAY preferable to silence.

Miz was the best part of Ryback/Big Show, he got jumped by Show for no reason before a title match, and Ryback attacked him for no reason tonight. Hard not to root for the Miz in the IC title picture.

The Money in the Bank match itself I thought was awful, maybe the worst one they have ever done. Way too much 2 guys in the ring, while everyone else disappears, I think that works fine for a few spots, but it was seemingly the entire match. If you blinked, you'd have missed Ziggler even being in the match. Sheamus winning is ok I guess, but man, where does Orton go from here? I thought winning the briefcase would be a way to get him back into the main event scene, and give him something to do. I suppose Sheamus needed it for the same reason.

Also, Reigns/Wyatt is a terrible idea, Wyatt is basically as threatening as R-Truth right now, he hasn't beaten anyone in months, maybe even in 2015, plus Reigns trucked him on Raw, despite having already wrestled 2 matches and Wyatt having help. Wyatt did less damage to Reigns than Mark Henry or Wade Barrett did, now he's supposed to be a legit threat?

Interesting b/c I would have never guessed this. Pretty amazing that Wyatt can still have the draw/legitimacy he has w/o getting victories in the ring. Assume his time will come soon.

 
The Cena/Owens match and the Rollins/Ambrose match were outstanding. Cena/Owens left the crowd a bit exhausted for the rest of the night, but Rollins/Ambrose didn't let their match get lost in the shuffle because of it.

The Divas match was better than I thought it would be, but to me the outcome was predictable as it's very obvious they want her to eclipse AJ's record. They're making a big deal about her 200 days as champion. The pseudo dusty finish was a nice touch. Should have been a DQ, though in Paige's favor.

I really enjoyed the MITB match until the finish. Since I've only been a subscriber since November and I was always too cheap for the $50 PPVs, this is my first live MITB. I really enjoyed the suspense. I just don't understand Sheamus winning it, though. I don't think the fans will be invested in his quest for the championship other than just wishing he would go away. I suppose he has heat in that the fans don't like him, but I'm not sure it's the right kind of heat. He's not a love to hate like Rollins, Owens, or New Day. More of a "fast forward through his matches" if you've got the show recorded hate.

I didn't care about Ryback vs Big Show and was thankful Miz ended it early. Now there's a love to hate guy. Hopefully they have bigger plans for him.

As for Wyatt, I'm getting tired of his character. I loved it at first. He was a perfect foil for Cena as his complete opposite, but now it's getting a bit repetitive. I almost think he needed to be part in the attitude era where he could do some truly evil ####. Maybe he can somehow cover some new ground with Reigns.

Maybe they'll have Sheamus be the first MITB winner to fail to cash. He comes in after everyone is out cold, like past winners, then botches it somehow and loses. And in a fit of rage, he destroys everyone and half the announcers along with the set.. in an effort to drum up some real heat for his character.

He is, and I hope he gets the heel heat he deserves. As someone on twitter pointed out, he's sort of become the voice of the IWC. But really nobody should be rooting for this character. He's a bully, a creep, and a terrible father. He's wonderful at making me hate him.

He'd be the 3rd to fail to cash it in successfully (Cena and Sandow). Although you can sort of count Mr Kennedy as the first to fail to cash it in, as he lost the briefcase to Jericho and never had a chance to cash it in against the champion.

 
Haven't watch much past the first match and Divas debacle, but I have to Sheamus would have been my 7th choice out of 7 to actually win the MITB case. Everyone else would have had much better storylines with it.

Really was rooting for Kofi and see if we get The Freebird Rule used on the briefcase, or just as good, the idea of the New Day planning a Shield like attack on the World Champion.

I was also rooting for Kofi. Sheamus is an interesting choice...we'll have to see where this goes. Heel champion + heel briefcase holder seems like a strange combination, but Sheamus can hold the case for a long time, I suppose.

 
I'm wondering if they pull the MITB briefcase switch on a Raw where Sheamus loses it to someone else who will cash it in? They can't possibly keep it with him, can they? I've always seen him as a role player, and I think a poster earlier nailed it with creating a Regal Council - or whatever-it-was-called stable comprised of King Barrett, Sheamus, Paige, and some other UK worker. That would be an interesting twist. Then I could see Sheamus holding on to the briefcase for awhile as the muscle of this group and winning matches in a heel stable fashion. Otherwise, I think his character is boring to watch, as I tend to FF through the matches when he is on Raw.

I think WWE has been rewarding some of the long-term/loyal soldiers lately. Big Show got the battle royal win at Mania. Ryback (10+ years in WWE) is getting a turn with the IC title. Now Sheamus gets the briefcase.

I suspect SummerSlam is going to be a really big turning point where we see the upper card really flush out and begin the run up to WM32.

I agree that Owens certainly looks like he'll have no problem keeping his momentum up, thanks in large part to his mic skills.

I'd probably have Punk #1 on the mic over the last decade, but #2 is Jericho for me, his 08-10 heel run is arguably the best heel run of the last decade, I'd say it is either that or Punk's straight edge society run.

I spent part of the late 90's going to House of Pain/NWL shows in Hagerstown, MD. Shows were on Tuesday nights at no charge. This was their training school and where the trainees got a chance to work on their gimmick and mat work.Me and a couple other pals were regulars and got to know some of the more veteran talent. Most were regular Joes with jobs who did this for fun. I was even in a match once as a manager; the opposing manager was a veteran in the WXW area and gave me a primer on working the match. His first words were, "Don't worry, just let me be the #### here." :lmao: At the end of the match, I had him by a leather jacket with my right atm cocked like I was going to throw a punch. My wife said I got a huge pop out of it; I was so focused I didn't hear anything.

I guess maybe we should have seen the Sheamus win coming. The briefcase works better on a heel. Heels like to take shortcuts. Kane wasn't going to win it. He's past that part of his career. Kofi isn't to that level.

I guess the WWE feels they need another big time heel. Show and Kane are old and boring. Rusev is out a while. The internet smarks have taken Owens as their own, so it's going to be a split crowd. They seem at a loss on what to do with Wyatt. Rollins can only do so much.

But I don't know if Sheamus is the guy. I don't think his is the kind of heat that sells tickets.

I wanted a heel Neville in this group. You have the talker (Barrett), the heater (Sheamus), the flyer/worker (Neville) and the girl (Paige). I think it would be an amazing faction.

I wanted a heel Neville in this group. You have the talker (Barrett), the heater (Sheamus), the flyer/worker (Neville) and the girl (Paige). I think it would be an amazing faction.

That was it. I couldn't think of Neville's name. I really like this idea.

 
Was thinking the same thing. Sheamus has been so much better as a heel. Guy was so stale & misplaced as a face. I think it was at least a couple year run as a face.

I like the idea of the faction.

- WWE officials are still planning on doing Triple H vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins for this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view, according to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio. The idea appears to be to have Rollins turn babyface for the feud.
