Between Aquette and The Finger Poke Of Doom, they really screwed the pooch.Like David Arquette? You gotta love any heavyweight champion that you could potentially take in a fight. Not sure who looked less a wrestling star, Greg G or Mike Von Erich, who was so small and inexperienced that no one would job to him for his debut and Skandar Akbar had to do the job (he was a manager at the time)You gotta love any heavyweight champion that you could potentially take in a fight. The reboot was really the nail in the coffin. When the announcers have to break character and say "Hey, our product has sucked pretty bad, so we're going to take a couple weeks off and write all new stuff and come back with a whole new look" you know your screwed.Between Aquette and The Finger Poke Of Doom, they really screwed the pooch.Like David Arquette? You gotta love any heavyweight champion that you could potentially take in a fight. Who was mostly responsible for the booking at that time? Was it only Russo? The reboot was really the nail in the coffin. IIRC, correctly, Russo had been fired/quit, but the ratings plummeted after his departure, so he was hired back, and that's when he and Bischoff (the man had one good idea and nothing else) did the reboot, but Bischoff quit a bit later. The reboot wasn't all bad. The undercard stuff was pretty good.Who was mostly responsible for the booking at that time? Was it only Russo? The reboot was really the nail in the coffin. C'mon! Are you trying to tell me that you didn't think the year long "Blood Runs Cold" vignettes for Glacier were great?IIRC, correctly, Russo had been fired/quit, but the ratings plummeted after his departure, so he was hired back, and that's when he and Bischoff (the man had one good idea and nothing else) did the reboot, but Bischoff quit a bit later. watching this reminded me of my fave Earl Hebner moment that i saw liveThis was one of my favorite moments of the Attitude era. April 2000, Penn State. I was watching this while on a business trip with another guy in Toronto downing 40s of Molson XXX, and we lost our #### when this happened. And what a pop from the crowd -some legit marking out going on!
I quit watching right before the attitude era. Now, my son is the same age I was when I first discovered WWF and I've caught up and started watching again because of him. Honestly, if you watch a few consecutive weeks of Raw, a little Smackdown, and the next PPV, you should be completely caught up. Surprisingly, Wikipedia filled in a lot of blanks for me too.I have not watched wrestling in 10+ years, but I have been working from home and started to watch both TNA and WWE again. and I saw my first PPW in a long time, extreme rules. and I was really into it. I grew up during the rock and wrestling & cartoon era, and stopped watching religiously right around the Monday night wars. I was a casual fan around then but lost interest, for multiple reasons.as a kid wrestling was a special thing, I remember wrestling with friends and I would get a plastic grocery bag, make a shirt and rip it off during the match like him. When I started to hear that it was fake I was really hurt as a kid. I remember bring this up to my friend that it may be fake. and he told me he heard the same, but that the championship matches are for real.I cried when undertaker put ultimate warrior in the coffin when paul bearer had his show. I though he was going to kill him. what are some vids that I can watch to catch up? I plan on watching all the wrestlemanias (im in the middle of 4 have a long way to go), but I'm sure I will miss out on other PPWs that were better.
Dave Hebner was known in the 80's for refereeing in the WWF. Earl Hebner was refereeing in the NWA for most of the 80's (including the Starrcade '85 I Quit match between Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard). I believe this was the first time Earl was on WWF TV that we know of.This was one of my favorite moments of the Attitude era. April 2000, Penn State. I've never liked Ron Killings. He's been annoying to me since he was K-Kwik in his first WWE tenure. So, yes. He works better as a heel.R Truth as a real villain has been great. Its about time they had someone hate-able out there. The "I Quit" match should be interesting.

ok wow. I never really looked into it until u posted this and then I wiki'd.wow, so it was a twin. I don't think this word means what you think it does.Again, what's the big deal? They still wrestle. A lot.WWE no longer even stands for wrestling as no one affiliated with WWE can ever say "wrestling" as part of the name.
Was that when they came back with the New Blood vs the Millionaires Club? That suckedI remember something happening at a ppv where Hogan was refusing to job to Jarrett, so he just came out and quit. Then Russo came out and went nuts on him or something like that. The reboot was really the nail in the coffin. They also started talking about wrestlers not cooperating and changing finishes on the fly. Just total face palm stuff.I don't have time to find it, but I'm sure it's on youtube. The reboot was really the nail in the coffin. Yikes. I can't find anything online about this. Do you have a link? WWE has fired guys for failing the policy a few times. Not sure if this the first strike for Christian but would certainly explain the quick belt change.Christian failed the WWE Wellness Policy Test. Unsure if that means steroids, pain killers, but I guess he is headed to rehab.
Fixed.I have not watched wrestling in 10+ years, but I have been working from home and started to watch both TNA and WWE again. and I saw my first PPW in a long time, extreme rules. and I was really into it.

The funny thing about that is you can tell which one is which by their size. While they are twins, at that moment, Earl was much thinner than Dave. This was one of my favorite moments of the Attitude era. April 2000, Penn State. Crockett Promotions (AKA Mid-Atlantic Wrestling as well as other names, see the Wiki link below) had a program called World Championship Wrestling (also had programs World Wide Wrestling, etc). He was a member of the National Wrestling Alliance. When Turner bought the company, he officially renamed the company to World Championship Wrestling (WCW). The talent looked the same because it was the same. Here is the Wikipedia article on Jim Crockett Promotions. So Im enjoying it so far but have a quick question
Im at the point where Crocket has to sell off since he was trying to go global. They say that WCW bought them. But Im confused. I thought they were WCW (or a version of it) AND the talent looked the same

I am slightly addicted to celeb porn. I think the Paris Hilton, Jenna Lewis and Pam Anderson vids should be considered national treasures. That being said I have not found myself wanting to watch even a single frame of the Chyna vid.'Jewell said:
Has anyone found any info on this yet? JR's blog mentioned Christian but in a positive light with no indication he was going to be off tv for a while. In fact Christian led off the Smackdown show that was taped last night to air on Friday.'Keith R said:Yes.
