After the Piper ####, #### Austin. Tired of his schtick anyway. Haven't listened to a PodcastOne interview in probably a month.

I wonder if Austin has any regrets about how he handled the Piper podcast situation now that Piper has passed. Austin had no way of knowing that Piper would pass so soon thereafter, but I know that if I was Austin I'd feel like a POS for the way I treated a legend in his final days over something so small and petty.

Piper was the bigger man and apologized over and over for it. Though it wasn't necessary.Anyone with a brain can see it was in good fun.

I think it was bull#### to have a Austin Podcast after RAW and not a Piper tribute (similar to Dusty). Was the final straw for me in cancelling WWE Network. Current product sucks and they don't regularly add new shows/content. Or even just wipe out the Austin Podcast for a few weeks. The Paige podcast was ####. (Paige was a last minute sub for the now fired Hogan. They could have easily just cancelled it)

Did James Gandolfini need to stop the sopranos to tell everyone all he is doing for wounded warriors?

It's hard because the Connor the Crusher stuff gets them positive mainstream attention, which on some level they crave. James Gandolfini didn't need to stop the Sopranos as he was already well established in the pop culture mainstream as a good actor. WWE doesn't have that luxury; they seem to use any positive/uplifting element they can to put the company over.The sight of a husband and wife leaders of an entertainment company starting/supporting a charity that is based on a child's passing - especially in the PG era - look more family friendly/appealing as an entertainment option. I don't blame them for this; I actually think it's a great idea as it gives fans an opportunity to spread the wrestling gospel to their friends/neighbors/co-workers who may be casual fans.

Austin got Piper kicked off Podcast One a week or two before his death and perhaps got WWE to revoke his Legends Deal (the latter Piper was re-tweeting comments indicating as such.....so guessing was the truth).

Piper had Will Sasso doing Austin impersonation on his podcast......Austin #####es to Podcast One about it and gets it pulled. Podcast One and Piper part ways. (The podcast is in the link above in my previous post. It went on a bit long but ###'s hilarious. You have to be one thin skinned SOB to go crying about that)

Austin won't even comment about it like it never happened. Piper was forthright about what happened. Piper never directly said it but I believe Austin tried to pay Piper to keep quiet about it. Piper said "My honor isn't for sale".

Big to Austin & WWE for airing a Austin Podcast (and not Piper tribute) after RAW 3 days after his death.

It's hard because the Connor the Crusher stuff gets them positive mainstream attention, which on some level they crave. James Gandolfini didn't need to stop the Sopranos as he was already well established in the pop culture mainstream as a good actor. WWE doesn't have that luxury; they seem to use any positive/uplifting element they can to put the company over.The sight of a husband and wife leaders of an entertainment company starting/supporting a charity that is based on a child's passing - especially in the PG era - look more family friendly/appealing as an entertainment option. Listened to Cena on the Chive Podcast. Nothing much new, but just made me like the guy all that much more. He gets it. You want a reaction, positive or negative. When he comes out to silence, he is done. He said he doesn't ever see becoming heel, because he feels like he is already the biggest heel in the company.

It's funny to watch the crowd when his music hits when you're at a live show. The kids are bouncing out of their chairs to see their hero, and their parents are happy because their kids are happy. The grownups who have lost their inner child also pop out of their chairs because they have been waiting ALL DAY to sing "John Cena suuuucks". Nobody is apathetic.

I don't think that's the case. I think Cena has always been a company man and willing to do anything to succeed and get his character over. He was just fortunate to start in a time when WWE was PG-13. It's been the drop of content down to PG that has taken the edge off Cena, not deciding to start kissing Vince's ###. I'm pretty sure he has been doing that since day one.

I don't know if he was fortunate that they dropped down to PG. Cena was pretty awesome when they were pushing the envelope. I think he'd be as big as he is now, just not sterilized.

which you can still accomplish in the body of the show. Wrestling is always protagonist/antagonist, Bobby Brain was the big bad in the 80's, no reason they couldn't shift it back to a performer based dynamic.

I keep harping on it, but my god just check out the writing in that womens match this week, and the direction given to these women.

I thought it might be interesting, to sort of get everyone's personal input of who they like in WWE right now. Sort of take the temperature of the thread so to speak, on both men and women, and separating in-ring and character work. In my opinion:

Men's Top-5 in-ring

1. Seth Rollins, is basically another Shawn Michaels, other than poor booking, never has a bad match. I miss the curbstomp though, that was the best finisher.

2. Sami Zayn, if healthy this would be Daniel Bryan's spot, Zayn brings a lot of very similar things to the table. Great seller, and is the king of the 2.99 kick out.

3. Cesaro, best power wrestler on the roster, with enough quickness to produce great matches with smaller opponents.

4. Neville, maybe the quickest wrestler in WWE history. I think his reverse frankensteiner looks like the most devastating move in WWE right now.

5. Dolph Ziggler, I for one, love the overselling, makes a lot of basic stuff(like a dropkick) look devastating, and has a speed few have.

Men's Top-5 characters

1. Brock Lesnar, is must see, even if he's squashing New Day. Just has an aura, and level of importance, that nobody else comes close to right now.

2. Kevin Owens, the best heels are the ones who are wrong, but can logically justify that they are right, he's the best at that since Punk.

3. Dean Ambrose, the never give up character done right. Always good for some funny weirdness on the mic too.

4. Bray Wyatt, might have topped this list, if he ever actually won a feud. It makes his threats ring a bit hollow, when he constantly loses.

5. Finn Balor, his entrance is a highlight of shows, that says it all. Also like the hints that the demon is something somewhat beyond his control.

Women's Top-5 in-ring

1. Sasha Banks, pure excellence, ring psychology, selling, has very opponent specific matches, which is very rare these days. The total package.

2. Becky Lynch, excellent transitions between moves, and brings a lot of power moves to her matches.

3. Emma, similar to Becky, minus the power moves, but with better selling.

4. Paige, could have been as high as #2, but has Randy Orton syndrome, where she appears to be bored during matches, and just going through the motions.

5. Charlotte, is exciting, but really sloppy, still has several good moves, really like that kneeling neckbreaker, and that's enough for 5th.

Women's Top-5 characters

1. Bayley, in my opinion, the best face in the company. She is the best role model for young girls, not just in WWE, but maybe all entertainment. Her road to redemption storyline on NXT is arguably the best story WWE is telling right now. If she improves in-ring, she's a potential face of the division.

2. Sasha Banks, always in character, I especially like how she tends to swipe moves, and taunts from her opponents.

3. Dana Brooke, is killing it on NXT as the entitled heel. Basically kind of similar to what the Bellas do, but way better. Hopefully the in-ring catches up.

4 and 5 Nikki and Brie Bella, when they aren't no-selling(which isn't often) they are very good heels, who can really get a crowd to hate them like few others.

I'm still on the Bray Wyatt bandwagon. Think he's the top full time guy right now, especially with Harper back behind him. Easily the best guy on the mic and almost always delivers a good match. Could easily see him as a long reigning champ.

Ambrose is close. He's really a good babyface underdog type. I hope he gets the proper payoff soon with a big title win at a big PPV.

And I do think Fin Balor can be a monster star when he comes up. He's on the small side but has a good look, very good in the ring and the special occasion demon shtick is going to be HUGE with the kids. And to be honest, never mind the kids, I mark out for those entrances big time.

As for the women, not sure who said it but whoever said Sasha was the best ever, damn you might be right. She's unbelievable. Hot, great charisma, and awesome in ring. Complete total package.

I'm honestly surprised that so many of guys think that Zayn and Neville couldn't be more than mid carders. They are hellacious workers and have their own sort of charisma. I don't know what I'm missing here.

It blows my mind too. Zayn is the best actual babyface the company has had in years, there isn't a better character for kids to emulate on the roster. He's 90% of Daniel Bryan in the ring, and an even better character.

Neville is amazing in the ring, but his mic skills could get him held back a bit. Though his offense is so different than most, that it'll be impossible for him to not be at least upper midcard. RVD had a great career with similar strengths and weaknesses.

The NXT 6(Zayn, Neville, Balor, Itami, Owens and Breeze) all have extremely bright futures. I think they will all be at least solid midcard guys at the next level at some point.

Speaking of NXT, this may considered be a bold statement, but I think it is 100% true. In ring, Sasha Banks is the best female wrestler in WWE in at least the last 20 years.

Last night was even more proof the the WWE should really feature the women's division much more then they do, that title match was one of the 5 best matches so far of 2015, men or women. Really 3 of the 5 best matches of the year so far all happened last night. Other 2 in my opinion being, Lesnar/Cena/Rollins, and Zayn/Neville 2.

In ring, Sasha Banks is the best female wrestler in WWE in at least the last 20 years.

If I were drinking milk, I'd be cleaning off my monitor now because I will have done a major spit-take to that. You realize that you're saying that an NXT developmental diva is better than EVERY SINGLE DIVA SINCE 1995?!

Yep. Can't think of one better all around in the ring. Between quality offense, seamless execution, excellent selling, and being in character at all times during a match I really can't, nobody else fits that criteria. For what it is worth, I'd put Paige and AJ in the top-5 of the last 20 years. While popular, the women of the attitude era were mostly awful in the ring, Victoria and Molly Holly had their moments, but the rest were meh at best.

I don't think the NXT thing means anything at all. I'd make the case that 10 of the top 20 or so people on the entire roster are on NXT right now. Probably 15 of 20 if you count people who came up in the last 2.5 years.

Other than not seeing Paige's apathy coming I stand by everything I said in February.

And a year ago or so ago Wyatt had tapped Ambrose as someone in pain who needed Bray's guidance. Remember the Sister Abigail into the wall and then Bray cradling Ambrose head while he was unconscious? Hmmm...

Agree on Bayley. And yes I'm getting that same feeling with Ambrose.

Which is pathetic because he's the guy that fans want to love, yet they're going to continue with the Reigns babyface crap. The stubbornness is off the charts with this one. Reigns should've turned heel months ago.

In an earlier post, you made mention of the anti-Cena crowd having lost their inner child. I very much disagree with that. I'm pretty anti-Cena, but my "inner child" is extremely on board with Bayley, and in the exact same way you mention here. I mean, just this week when she hugged that little girl at ringside who was wearing all her merch, and the girl immediately bursts into tears. That was such an awesome moment.

Injuries and being butt-hurt really suck.

Imagine Zayn and Itami not being hurt. That makes the NXT roster strong enough that either Zayn or Balor would be a mainstay on the main roster.

Imagine Daniel Bryan not being hurt. His plan for the Intercontinental Championship was to defend it exclusively on Smackdown. It would be the John Cena Challenge all over and would be huge.

Imagine AJ Lee being thrown into the mix of the Divas Revolution. It's a shame that the original #giveDivasachance girl isn't reaping the benefits of this.

Imagine a happy and motivated CM Punk right now. A program with Rollins where Punk just keeps referring to him as "Tyler Black". A 3-match war with Kevin Owens to settle the Best In The World. A program with Lesnar using Punk's new MMA skills as a plot point.

And it's a little out there, but I wish a 41-year old Edge was healthy. A part time working Edge, as the anti-HHH, anti-Authority pain in their side would be amazing. What Sting should be but isn't. A stable with Edge as the mouthpiece, including Ziggler, Ryback, etc could be fun.

That really is the most unfortunate thing of all those you listed. AJ complained for over a year about the treatment of the women's division, including calling out Stephanie McMahon both on and off screen about it, making valid point after valid point, and being punished for it. Then when AJ finally had enough and left after months of being ignored at best, and punished at worst, for trying to improve the entire division seemingly single handedly. Stephanie goes on TV and parrots everything she punished AJ for saying, acting as if it were her idea, which is why lots of people were rightly annoyed that she was part of the whole introduction of Sasha, Becky and Charlotte to the main roster.

In a perfect world, AJ is the face of the women's revolution, and having 15+ minute matches with Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.
