Why isn't Jim Ross announcing WWE still?  Is it just the palsy thing?  Seriously, just listening to him and the King on gifs of old matches gives me a semi. Michael Cole makes me stabby.
He's now doing New Japan on AXS and I believe he's also doing some boxing pbp for Fox Sports.

Maybe I have missed it, but WWE is making a mistake not showcasing the stuff on Shane's twitter feed (@shanemcmahon). He is going through some impressive workouts and doing all of the MMA stuff that Taker loves.

It's actually gonna be Shane/Taker isn't it? ?

Without a doubt.

Large presentation of the Cell going up. Shane comes to the ring wearing a special WM jersey and sneakers that you can get at WWEShop.com. Taker's entrance starts somewhere in West Fort Worth and finally makes it to the ring with the most smoke ever produced at an indoor event (Sponsored by a local BBQ establishment). You get a basic HIAC match. Lots of being thrown into the cage and rest spots as you laid knocked out. We get a few MMA flurries and some submission holds. Shane bleeds. HHH and Steph come out to interfere. Rock and Ronda Rousey come out to stand off against them. This allows 46 year old Shane and 51 year old Mark Calaway to get some rest. Vince comes down to try and interfere, John Cena comes down and stops him (without a actually physical moves of course, still healing). Shane dives off the cell. Shane dives off the Cowboys Stadium yuuuge video screen. Vince makes some crazy faces. Hugs his son at the end of the match. Then kicks him in the junk. End scene.

Long story short: He took the fall for Ric Flair being super drunk at a WWE panel.
Even worse.  It was a press conference for WWE 2k14 the video game (specifically the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode - which is awesome to play, by the way).  It was a great conference, though.  I wish Vince would suck it up.  It wasn't that bad.  So, Flair started going off-script and kinda stole the thunder from Ross and the rest of the panel.  Woopdeedoo.

Here's a video of the conference, if you've never seen it.

Yep. And Ross will tell you that Flair should not have been there, he had just lost his son. Sad, stupid situation all the way around.

Lucha Underground was really jumping last night with both titles up for grabs and a bull rope match between Chavo and Texano. I love bull rope matches; I wish there were more of them.

One thing I noticed while listening to the lovely Melissa Santos do ring introductions: She has a different tone and inflection for each luchador. And then there's Lillian Garcia who has. The. Same. Inflection. For. Every. Wrestler. Melissa even goes so far to barely mask her disgust when introducing Pentagon, Jr. or Marty the Moth.

And El Jefe Dario Cueto is coming back to the Temple with his brother! They're definitely building to a match between his brother and Mil Muertes for control of the temple.

:X  I got excited...for a night. Now it's embarrassing and boring again.

I thought it was hysterical the previous week when Marty the Moth was stalking her during introductions. Also I think your statement pretty well illustrates the difference between Vince's corporate homogenized version of pro wrestling and the cutting edge version of the indies. I still shake my head in disbelief over the Gail Kim situation in the link I provided above. Vince's mindset is still 30 years ago during his glory years.

Great news! I really miss Cueto so far this season. He was the quintessential evil owner in today's wrestling environment.

Yes, Vince, men like Asian chicks.

Former TNA champions Bobby Roode and Eric Young will be finishing their TNA commitments at tonight's Impact Wrestling taping in Orlando, Florida, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources.

The story making the rounds is that Roode and Young each requested releases from their TNA deals and their working this past week's Impact Wrestling tapings were part of those agreements
Bobby Roode would be a nice addition to the NXT roster. Young...meh.

I've never been able to take Eric Young seriously. It's hard to go from comedic wrestler to straight wrestler without a hit to your credibility. I see him working as a heel and go

I guess this means that Beer Money will be dropping the tag straps this week.

Roode had nothing left to do in TNA. Shame the Roode of several years ago couldn't join WWE today. He can still work obviously but he was much more over several years ago. One of the best heels for a period of time in the business IMO. At 39, he'll have a few more years but like AJ his best days are behind him IMO. Who knows if WWE would even be interested in him as a singles guy. I like Beer Money but felt really like they were put together again because they simply didn't have anything for either guy IMO. Their matches with Motor City Machine Guns in TNA a few years ago were some of the best matches in the history of TNA.

I can't see WWE interested in Eric Young personally. I think he's already got a fishing or hunting show or something on TV.

I wish someone would put TNA out of its misery. John Gaburick is a incompetent moron and Dixie has no business running a wrestling company.

Tomohiri Ishii beat Roderick Strong  r the ROH TV title at the 14th Anniversary show in Vegas. He was defending it this week on ROH TV against Cedric Alexander.

I like this a lot.

Can I just say, as a strictly WWE/NXT viewer that has never seen these Indy guys until they arrive, I am extremely impressed with Styles. Sorry I missed Smackdown because I read he and Owens had a match. I'd love to see what those guys can do given proper time at a ppv.

It's worth checking out AJ Styles' matches with Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe at TNA.  He also had some great matches against the "Fallen Angel" Chris Daniels.

The three way Styles/Daniels/Joe series of matches in TNA are absolute classics. I'd start there when looking back at Styles, followed by finding some of his NJPW stuff in the last year or two.

Anyone have a alternative to wrestlinginc?

Closed their comments section which I thought was one of the more balanced ones around.

They've done a very good job with Styles that I've seen. Hiding his mic deficiency with Jericho & Miz.

I'm not a big 'work rate' guy but good as Styles still is in ring, his in ring stuff of the a few years ago is amazing. Just an amazing athlete. What we're seeing now doesnt do him justice IMO

I only caught a bit of the second half of RAW, and it made zero sense.

Vince making the stipulation that if Taker loses it's his last Wrestlemania match. OK?

Dudleys beating up on R-Truth, teasing Goldust and then having The Usos come out and beat them down, in the last 20 mins of the show. I honestly turned it off before Ambrose/Strowman.

One RAW until WM. I have little faith.

Haven't watched RAW in awhile, but caught some of last night.  Oh man, that show really sucks.

HHH sitting in the car waiting for that doofus Reigns to slowly walk to the car and pull him out?  yeesh.

And the main event was lunatic fringe guy against that big dude that has fewer wrestling moves than the big show?

Shane McMahon vs Undertaker at WM?  oh brother...

you guys aren't Kevin Owens fans then, I take it? It was basically his show, including a long match with Styles and multiple back stage interactions (I love the way he is super polite with Stephanie).

That said, the last half hour was really flat. I guess we're getting Usos vs Dudleys at Mania (pre-show match?). I thought they would try something new...throw a few more teams in there and introduce a Money in the Bank for tag teams or something. Vince's announcement had no real menace to it...he just said it and it was awkwardly over. The rest of the build up to Shane v Taker was solid, though. Shane looks like he has some legit fighting skills in the training segments, and I always prefer building the match with training montages over empty words.

Two weeks out from Mania, I was shocked we didn't see Lesnar, Taker, or the Rock. Terry Funk was a nice surprise, though.

If you don't follow @makeitloud on Twitter, she does a breakdown of each RAW. Here's the stats from this week. No tag matches and very little from the women. It all felt weird.

Just watched the show in about 20-25 mins. Owens/Styles was solid. (False finish after false finish with a roll up finish isn't my cup of tea when the moves should be killing these guys -- and probably will be 10-15+ years down the road -- but it was far and away the highlight of this show. I think Reigns-HHH was a good segment out the ring. Ambrose chainsaw segment was good. FF through most everything else. One match to look forward to at Mania (Shane/Taker). Mania is what 7 hours long this year :lmao:  Will watch the final hour (Hopefully they're smart enough to put Shane-Taker on last). No interest in watching anything else..

How does ANYONE put together that rambling nauseating New Day segment and think that's good?? :lmao:  I get this product is catered to kids, but kids find THAT funny? League of Nations has been a joke to the beginning. No one cares. It's been their worst thing on their programming for months and months now.

Even the League of Nations is bored of the League of Nations.

I hope Big Show wins the Battle Royal this year. They have a chance to make it Big Show's 'thing'.

You can't tell me it isn't great watching Show throw around all the jabronies.

 Poor Del Rio. Goes from beating John Cena his 1st night of return.........to the MexAmerican stuff with Zeb Coulter......then to Anti-American stuff with Zeb (after no one cared ...or had a clue what they were talking about ..with the MexAmerican stuff)........then to League of Urinations.

As bad as the ADR/Zeb Coulter MexAmerican stuff was........this League of Nations stuff may just be worse (and didn't even think that was possible)

Owens/Styles was outstanding. I think a case could be made that it was the best Raw match of the year so far. I don't mind the roll up finish here, because it at least pushes 2 stories forward, as opposed to the usual 50-50 booking reasoning for those type of finishes. This felt like it mattered.

Loved the Ambrose/Funk segment. Funk's rant about what he thought of Ambrose was as rambling and disjointed as could be(which is a a Funk strength) and Ambrose just responding with a, "yeah, I understood all that" was Leslie Nielsen-esq deadpanning. The highlight was Funk saying, "If I had a son, I'd want him to be just like you, and if I had a daughter...........anyway here's a chainsaw."

Thought the if Taker loses he's done at Mania stipulation was dumb and pointless. I mean, if Taker loses, how would Vince enforce that? Shane would run the show right?

New Day is pretty rough right now. Comedy is always at its worst when it gets focused grouped to death, and that seems to be happening to them right now. Its like Vince discovered people thought they were funny, and decided that if that is the case they should be even funnier with his jokes.

I disagree that Mania only has 1 interesting match, and even then it wouldn't be that match. I'm 100% interested in the women's title match, and Ambrose/Lesnar could be excellent. The ladder match is fine, though why Ryder is in it is a complete mystery, could have gotten a lot more mileage(and quality) with Breeze, or even R-Truth. Ryder brings nothing to the table at all. I imagine the plan is to build to Owens-Zayn at Summerslam.

This Reigns-HHH is starting to make my head hurt. Reigns would be on fire right now, if he were supposed to be the heel. How this is face reigns vs heel HHH is incredible. To recap:

This story started(in this for anyway, since they aren't tying Shield stuff in) with Reigns being the #1 contender when Seth Rollins got hurt. HHH offers to take Reigns under his wing and just give him the title if he plays ball with him. Reigns refuses, so HHH puts him in a tournament to crown a new champion. Reigns wins the tournament, HHH tries to shake his hand, but Reigns spears HHH, then Sheamus cashes in money in the bank, and beats Reigns. Reigns responds to this by attacking HHH on Raw, despite the fact that HHH has done nothing unfair to Reigns.

Then Vince comes back and gives Reigns a title shot against Sheamus, with Vince as the ref. Vince slow counts, and cheats for Sheamus, but is knocked out by Reigns, and Reigns then wins the title back. Vince comes out and declares that Reigns will defend his title in the Royal Rumble match, and that he will be the #1 entrant. HHH ends up drawing #30 and winning the Rumble. Again HHH to this point, has done nothing unfair to Reigns.

Stephanie decides that a triple threat match will happen at Fastlane between Reigns, Lesnar and Ambrose. Reigns wins. On Raw, Reigns calls HHH a coward and challenges to a fight, not a match, a fight, right there that night. HHH comes out, and beats the crap pot of Reigns breaking his nose, or shattering his face depending on how you feel about hyperbole. Again Reigns challenged HHH, and got his butt kicked fair and square.

HHH defends his title against Ambrose at Roadblock, which was proceeded by 2-3 weeks of HHH having people, or he himself, attacking Ambrose after long matches. HHH was absolutely a heel against Ambrose, no debate there. After that title defense HHH gives Dolph Ziggler a match where if he wins, he can have any match he pleases other than a WWE title match. After a 20+ minute back and forth match, HHH wins, but Reigns comes out to assault him. Reigns doesn't just beat HHH up, he attacks referees and random bystanders as the fight spills backstage.

Last night, Stephanie tries to slap Reigns, he grabs her arm and says he's the authority now. Which leads to Stephanie running off and attempting to leave Raw out of fear for her safety. HHH comes to pick her up, because he was too busy to be at the show(doing other business was the reason given) and Reigns attacks him as he is trying to leave, ripping him out of his vehicle while Stephanie is screaming. One person is there to fight and one is there to pick up his wife from work.

Other than the broken nose, which Reigns got in a fair fight that he asked for, HHH has done nothing to make Reigns so angry. He's been fair and level headed this entire time. Vince was unfair to Reigns, but HHH had nothing to do with that, he wasn't even on the show for like a month.

This feud would make 100% more sense, if the alignments were reversed. If Reigns were being booked as a crazy person who will stop at nothing to win the WWE title and doesn't care who he hurts or what anyone thinks, and HHH is the one guy who can stop him, that would be a fine story. But, they keep having this narrative that Reigns is justified in his actions and HHH deserves to get his butt kicked for victimizing Reigns, and that simply has not been what has happened at all.

At least you'll be able to root for Cesaro in the LoN when he comes back and replaces the departing King Barrett.

My cable company called me and offered 3mos of WWE Network for free... Thinking it was a joke/scam I played along.

So now I have it for free for 3 months. With no strings attached. I havent watched wrestling in a solid 10 years... Probably going to watch wrestlemania... but should I get into NXT? what exactly is it, and is it something u can walk into now, or will I be totally lost?

NXT is the absolute best thing WWE has to offer. You could probably walk into it blindly, but you'd be doing yourself a gigantic disservice to not at least watch all the Takeover specials since 2014. That's not too much, like 9 2-hour shows.

Also, the network has a search function, so pretty much anything the Shield did from 2012-2014 is awesome, and is the best thing WWE has had since you last watched.

NXT is like WWE's minor leagues....except for the past year and half have had a number of high quality wrestlers from the Indy Circuit, TNA and New Japan.  Kevin Owens, Neville, Sami Zayn are all on the main roster from NXT. They were all established stars outside the WWE.  Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Austin Ares, Itami are all currently there and were already established. IIRC, there's going to be another big influx of independent talent coming up.

It's a good watch. It's an hour long....and often the Main Events are as good/better than the Main Event on RAW.
