So 2 things

"Being told that wwe deliberately had Moxley work until the end. Vince was not thinking he was going to AEW but he did it in case he did go there the people that wanted to see more of him came to the network looking. So those $500 paid off after all Vince was in fact furious that Moxley did ended up going to AEW in a lie to them, but at the end the plan b was to create buzz in the network if he did went there"

Also Batista will most likely Headline Next Years WWE HOF

"Batista is a lock and will headline class of 2020 hall of fame... source confirmed. Had to do it now due to his busy Hollywood schedule."
The bolded underline is now true. Batista was confirmed as a 2020 HOF along with the NWO

I know they’re married, but does it seem weird that an Aleister Black segment is always followed by a Zelina Vega segment or vice versa?

Hearing from a very good source Matt Hardy will not renew his deal with WWE when it's up. Matt and Jeff are on separate deals now as WWE tact on Jeff for missed time. This source is very good and had a lot of great info when the Hardyz were dealing with the IMPACT/Anthem stuff and also had them debuting at Mania. Word is Tony Khan and AEW have offered Reby, Senior Benjamin and Matt contracts for House Hardy to be in AEW. Matt's deal isn't up for another couple months (I think similar time as Mox last year) however so don't expect him to debut in AEW till sometime in the spring/summer.

Also now that Seth is officially heel he can now excuse being an ####### to fans and other wrestlers on social media as "staying in character."

Oh yeah?!!  How good a source we talkin' here?

"Getting word that Maria and Mike Kanellis will be released at around 3 months after their second child is born to avoid any litigation for paternal/maternal leave."

Makes sense why we didn't hear about them being released

Primo Colon had a prescription that due date to keep up to me okayed by WWE expired a month ago. There was nothing "terrible" he did to cheat the system. Still don't know why the Colon's haven't been released yet

Right, must just be coincidence then that he decided to tweet that now.
Also read Reby's tweet quoting Matt's Tweet that's not endearing WWE at all. WWE made a ton of promises to Matt and failed to keep most of them. Matt is jobbing now because he's not resigning with them

Waste of time signings by WWE.

Both got paid to do nothing. Maria got pregnant upon signing. Mike's a junkie that was afforded the opportunity to attempt to get clean on WWE's dime. Then was shocked that WWE wasn't jumping at the bit to use him.

Maria has more value than Mike. Says more about Mike than her as 37 year old non-wrestler.

Maria has more value as eye candy that as a wrestler.

I really loved the Big Swole - Emi Sakura match last night.  Sakura had Swole in a surfboard - which I haven't seen in YEARS - and then proceeded to roll around the ring maintaining the hold.

That, and Swole did a good James Brown impersonation with Emi's mic stand.

AEW is genuinely fun to watch.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease by right. That would be WONderful

I know AEW doesn't need to sign every old WWE superstar, but ACTUALLY doing the Broken stuff correctly would be a huge feather in their cap.

Another case of letting a green wrestler sink or swim. It was obvious that Big Swole was a little bit rough around the edges, but I think there's a diamond to be found in there. (Kris Statlander too, for that matter.) I really enjoyed this match.

Really fun show last night, all the while addressing feedback they've been given. Lack of storyline focus? Whoa buddy, we got like 4 storyline threads tightly in view right now, and some looser parts showing up for long-term booking. AEW maximizes the limited star power they actually do have while building up new attractions.

Mike is really good he was just as usual like many used incorrectly in WWE. They were "hot" on the Indie scene at the time and WWE was scooping up all the hot names just to hoard them from other places. I think Mike and Maria would do well in NJPW

Did anyone watch any of NJPW Tag tournament they had? I'm so far behind right now. Is there any matches I should absolutely watch? Was just thinking about just watching the last big show of the year they just had and then start over with Wrestle Kingdom in January. Work has kicked my ### among other things and I fell behind plus AEW has drawn my attention.

Where wresting and wrestling psychology is in 2019. JFC.

Can't even imagine what this A&W would be like w/o Jericho. He's 1000% correct with everything he said. The honeymoon period is over. The fact is A&W has lost nearly 1/2 of its viewers  sinceits premiere. You can put whatever spin you'd like to that but it means nearly 1/2 of its initial viewers didn't find it worth the time to continue to watch.

It doesn't help the startup company with having an EVP that's shown he isn't looking to grow the company but rather try to keep the (dwindling) # of viewers they have.

AEW World Champion Chris Jericho joined the Keepin' It 100 podcast and revealed he had to hold a backstage meeting with AEW talent to discuss the issues going on in the promotion's tag matches. In a number of matches wrestlers had been going in and out of the ring, without tagging, causing confusion on who exactly was the legal man during the bout.

Jericho felt it was necessary to remind everyone that tagging in and out was a necessary part of those matches, specifically bringing up the Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) who had been switching in and out of the matches. (h/t Cultaholic for the transcription.)

"I called a team meeting … the lack of tags and normal tag team wrestling psychology drove me nuts," Jericho said. "It's sort of making excuses for The Lucha Brothers because tagging in and out, they're lazy, they don't care. They walk in and out whenever they want and it's not right. They would make excuses where they would say, 'Oh, it's lucha libre style.' That's funny, I worked in Mexico for two years and guess how you make a tag in a lucha libre match? You stand in the corner and you wait for a guy to touch you and you walk in.

"I called a meeting with the whole crew and said 'You're burying the ref, if you don't have any rules, you don't get any heat, and it's killing our show because our honeymoon period is over, and now people are watching us and they're being confused by the lack of rules.'"

Jericho said once they had the meeting that seemed to clear up any confusion the wrestlers had.

"Once we had a couple of talks with them, guess what they started doing? They started tagging," Jericho stated. "Maybe it was a habit or maybe nobody told them. You have a whole locker room of guys that have just worked indies their whole career and they don't know little things."

Jericho is scheduled to face Jungle Boy in a non-title match on this Wednesday's AEW Dynamite in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Half the viewers no longer care to tune in live, and it's a real problem for them if they are concerned about the live ratings. AEW is currently the highest DVR'd show on cable according to El Meltzerino.

Not sure what the solution is to get your definitively younger viewerbase locked into appointment viewing. It has to start with presentation and show format, I imagine. Currently I see Dynamite as a better version of Raw or Smackdown, and I think it's safe to say that the Raw/Smackdown format is not appointment television for the AEW fanbase.

For whatever faults AEW has, it's still miles better than watching Raw or SDL.

AEW is drawing the 18-49 crowd. The issue is a few things. I have 8-10 friends who are big AEW fans but guess what? All of them (Including me for a 3 week period) all work till 10-11 at night on Wednesday nights so its hard for them to watch. 2 buddies a co worker of mine works Night crew and barely has time to sit and enjoy and watch it while another is a dealer at a local casino. You also have people switching back and fourth between NXT and AEW. Then you have the folks like another set of my friends with kids. I have at least 2 customers who want to watch live but DVR it for later after the kids are in bed and all before they even have a chance to do anything. The one works from home so he just usually watches it the next day.

Then you got the cord cutters and the fact TNT streams the show on their app Live. That could be an issue as well. People thinking well I really don't need to sit and watch and can watch through my phone.

Finally neither AEW or WWE have any real big stars other than Ciampa or Jericho. You got a few wrestlers people would know but not many. If AEW can get the Hardyz like I've heard they are trying to do then that could be huge for the ratings. They need to also fix the women Division. If they could get Dashwood and Blanchard that would help big time.

Overall it's not just one thing. NXT has also lost viewers. They've lost more then half of what they got the Debut night in Sept so they've lost more already than AEW. The final thing is I think Wrestling these days has a simple cult following and nothing more. Its not mainstream as it use to be. I feel awkward even mentioning it to people these days I like it and really bummed out when they know of WWE but nothing else.

So on Primo's suspension

"Primo Colon has revealed that he failed the test because he didn’t showed up to the WWE designated site. Not being used in over a year, primo Colon is now living in Puerto Rico and declined to travel in a moments notice for the test. He explained that he offered to do the test locally in a place of wwe choosing in the island and they declined so he said suspend me and they did. A plane ticket would had been $1500. he also revealed that his wwe contract expires October 2020."

On Kaire Sane

"Kairi Sane I’ve been told passed the concussion test. She was legitimately sick and found herself out of energy to the point to almost vomiting. She will be fine.."

I tuned in briefly to TLC last night. I was around for the Bray/Miz match and I had to turn it off right after. Holy balls if that is mainstream wrestling today I want absolutely nothing to do with it. That match was boring, got nobody over, and it was clear the fans did not give one iota of a ####.

This is the problem I have with the WWE style of wrestling today. The pace to that match was so painfully slow, it was unwatchable based on that alone. The acting is so beyond over the top. Miz’s punches in the corner were SO BAD. The crowd was silent the entire match.

As a general complaint, there is way too much laying around in the ring today in WWE. There seem to be 4 or 5 spots each match where both guys are knocked down and have to get back to their feet. Those spots used to be 1 off events in a match used to start off a key turning point in the match. It kills the momentum and pacing of a match when done too much. And for WWE touting off how great its athletes allegedly are, why can any of these guys only do 5 or 6 moves before they go down acting gassed laying on the mat or leaning on the ropes?? These guys are being taught to act like they have the world’s worst stamina.

TL;DR WWE matches are too slow, the plodding pace sucks, and the product is unwatchable.

More great commentating on Dark.  Joey Janella "Orange Cassidy is a tough guy, he isn't one to back down at a Blink 182 concert, he is tough enough to strap a bucket of maple syrup to his back and drive a motorcycle across Canada!"

I was just coming to post that!  :lmao:

Rhipley won the NXT Women's TITLE!!!! And boy was she smoking tonight!!!! Disappointed Finn Didn't win the NXT title and was interrupted by the most overrated wrestler in wrestling and Daniel Bryan rip off Johnny Gargano.

AEW was also good but the two NXT title matches were great. Jungle Boy vs Jericho was good and Statland in the women's match was awesome

Tony Khan and Aubrey Edwards deliver Stone Cold Stunners to Shawn Spears  :lmao:

After the Spears vs. Santa Janela match, there was a post-show in-ring segment that saw several people hit Stunners on Spears while they drank White Claw adult beverages. The segment included Khan, referee Aubrey Edwards, Nick Jackson, Dustin Rhodes, and Cody Rhodes.

Edwards flipped Spears off, kicked him and then delivered the Stunner. She celebrated with a White Claw after the move as everyone celebrated. Khan also kicked Spears before hitting the Stunner. Dustin helped Khan up after his Stunner and everyone celebrated the big move by the boss.

If you can't get over with Tully Freaking Blanchard as your manager, well...at least you can comfort yourself knowing you share a bed with Peyton Royce.
I kinda agree. I actually do like Spears. Think he has a good look, but might just be a matter of him finding his character and AEW building him up a little more. I liked him working heel against Cody. I think with some more experience he could be a top heel for the promotion. Just needs some more seasoning and to really find his place on the card. I admittedly haven’t seen much of his mic work, I imagine that’s why they stuck Tully with him.

AEW has been taken to the woodshed on Wednesdays ever since the Survivor Series push began for NXT. NXT has capitalized on the push and carries momentum into 2020.

AEW should take the holiday break to evaluate its format imo.

NWA Power is the best current pro wrestling show.
  Order their PPV last weekend. First single wrestling PPV I've ordered in 15 years.

---------

AEW is WWE/NXT-lite (from their production to their cold storyline-less matches with no-selling, moves that mean nothing) with a far less talented roster. There's quite a few that AEW throws on their programming that have absolutely no business on TV right now. All the best to them. I don't think they last long on TNT if they don't drastically change things. TNT isn't going to cover all production costs for long having already lost >50% of their audience. Live viewers is the only thing advertisers care about.

I'm not going to rehash Cody Rhodes, active wrestler playing EVP,, and his tweets that make me just shake my head as a business owner. He's not trying to GROW as a startup company, he's trying to please a dwindling # of existing wresting fans. Seems like a good guy but he's in over his head trying to as an active wrestler trying to play businessman of a startup company.

Just watched Broken Skull Sessions with Goldberg. Another great show. Steve is killing this stuff. If he wants to put views thru the roof, he'll find a way to get a rare full length interview with Bret. That would be incredible.

Goldberg though at the end of that when he's thanking Steve's friendship, and then so sincerely he's like "I love hanging out man, and we need to spend more time together"....man I felt that

If TNA/Impact can survive X number of years of being the walking farts, AEW will be just fine.
