Agreed. Yesterday's as good as it will get for Rock (and it was pretty good). But, I doubt he sees that many touches again barring an in-game injury. After Betts went down in-game, they had to adjust and give Rock most of the touches. Ganther probably can't run too many things since he hasn't been here as long. With a full week's prep, I think the plan will be 50-30-20 with Rock-Mason-Ganther. Mason should know the offense well enough to get several touches. I wish they'd get Sellers some more touches, but they seem to be opposed to that.

While I agree, I don't think it's because Rock isn't a good player...it's because the Skins will continue to be mediocre. I will say that -when- Rock has gotten carries, I think he's looked good. He made a few people miss in the open field Sunday, and that's more than I can say for Betts or Portis, who couldn't typically GET to the open field. I have no issue with Rock being the starter, but expect Redskins RB numbers from him.

TDs will be an issue. As long as Portis is out, you might see him get 12 carries and 3-4 receptions per game for about 70 total yards, but TDs will be tough to get.

Portis has been nothing even CLOSE to an RB2 this year. Betts didnt get much work this year. i dont really know how you can make such claims.

Well you just said yourself that Portis hasn't been a 2 and Cartwright was 3rd on the depth chart. What makes you think he's better than the other two?

That's his point. Portis and Betts are ahead of him on the depth chart which typically means they're better players and they weren't successful. He's wondering why you think a player of inferior talent would be successful where more talented players weren't.

If depth charts really meant who have more talent instead of who gets more favoritism, than the latter guys would be starting. Albeit, Mendenhall is the starter and Leon is in IR, but you get the idea.

I'm sure there are some other backup running backs who are more deserving of this thread than Rock. Not only does he play for the Skins, but Portis has a month to recover before FFL championships and I doubt he loses his job. Redskins RBBC for the championship!

For the two games he finished, Betts was an RB1/2. And Portis just didn't play well this year at all. There's no guarantees, and it's not even likely, but Cartwright could just as easily come in and be a RB2 in PPR.

Not really. Forsett still needs to learn to block better to be an everydown back. Mewelde? He's alright but he's best utilized as a 3rd down back due to his blocking and receiving skills. Better to keep him in that role. Thomas Jones has been great in NY despite everyone wanting to throw him on the scrap heap for the past 4 years. And Slaton had the starting gig before he couldn't hang on to the ball. There's much more to being an NFL RB than simply fantasy stats.

If Portis is done, then that week 14 game against Oakland might produce some good numbers from Cartwright. That's the first week of the playoffs for some, or the last game of the season which might be just as important depending on peoples records.

I've always liked Rock Cartwright. Week 14 @OAK is the only week he'll be a quality starting option. He can help you advance, but could you start him v NYG or Dallas weeks 15 & 16?
