I just saw Atari Bigby wrap up Selvin Young and while he was bringing him down Kampman came in to knock him down faster I guess. They were each credited with an Assist.

What is the official rule for getting a Tackle and an Assist?

Because sometimes I see an instance when a player gets a Solo, and another player gets an Assist in the same play. It seems pretty dumb to me when players get assists simply for touching the ball carrier as hes being tackled already and clearly going down.

Can someone explain this to me more clearly. If it is already posted can you redirect me?

There are no rules. Tackles are an unofficial stat.
