***Official SNF Game Thread - Eagles at Steelers (1 Viewer)

Any Philly fans know if Westbrook was schedule to get ONE carry or if he left because he tweaked something? Rest of the first team is still out there...

Regarding the Westbrook situation I would think that if its an injury a sideline reporter would have mentioned something since it happened so early in the game, we are into the 2nd quarter now with no mention of anything.

Does anyone have Andy Reid's number? Maybe we can give him a call and find out what's going on.

Not at all related to this specific game, but thank GOD football starts soon. Baseball and basketball just don't cut it.

Big Ben and Santonio Holmes have played pretty well this preseason. It'll be interesting to see if that continues and how that'll ultimately affect drafts.
I remember in 1999 how the Browns beat the Cowboys in the Hall of Fame game too.

Highlight of the last 10 years for Browns fans.

Is it me or do both teams WRs look lousy tonight?

I'd assume Reid is holding Westy out as a precaution- Buckhaulter can stand in for him well enough to run the offense, so why risk a disaster? McNabb needs the work for his timing but Westbrook is ready to roll.

Uh, Madden just said he was surprised to see Holmes playing since he pulled his hammy running a reverse in practice... wuh??????

This Viva Viagra commercial is so amazingly effed up...

and I'm gonna get real sick of watching it several times a game this season...

Eagles pass coverage looks splendid again.

While they havent been perfect, they give a cushion on some underneath routes, the mid to deep coverage is tight and the DB is on the hip of the receiver all the time.

Very nice blocking on the TD -- Krieder, Starks blocking two guys, and SHolmes picking up the corner. Great success.

Funny how those points come when the turnovers stop.

Anyone else notice that Westbrook hasn't been in since that first carry of his? Was he not scheduled to play much tonight?
noticed it, too ... don't know why
Checked on this - Merrill Reese (94 WYSP Eagles radio) says he's not hurt. Not much more than that though. Merrill's pretty $$ though, so I am not worried.
thanks for the info
Nothing major to add here, but you could see him standing right at the sideline when Kolb came off the field after his first series. Figure he probably wouldn't be right there if he had an injury.

To all fellow Westbrook owners:

Rest easy. I was initially concerned also but I have twice seen Westbrook on the sideline during a play just standing around with his helmet off chatting with they guy standing next to him. If he had tweaked, or pulled, or twisted something ..... he'd either be getting it worked on or be back in the locker room.

Andy Reid knows how important Westbrook is to his offense. He's Philly's only real weapon. Andy would be foolish to expose Westbrook to preseason abuse.

Did anyone notice Ben has 250 yards passing at the half?

Wow I didn't even notice it, I thought the offence looked a little sloppy

Can't wait till they gel

After two really good starts Ben is making some bad decisions tonight. One INT and he got away with a couple others. Showing nice touch on other passes, though. Hope it's just rust to shake off.

Oh man, Olbermann is totally gonna outclass those boobs all year long...

The contrast between him and Collinsworth is amazing.

Some observations so far...

1. Reggie Brown is not acting like a WR1 should. He looks nervous out there.

2. Parker can score at any time

3. Roethlisberger is going to have a lot of 250+ yd passing games this season

4. Pittsburgh defense looks like they will outperform their ADP of DEF9 (current staff consensus)

5. For me the verdict is not out yet on McNabb

Side comment: I wonder if I can just buy a name plate of "Holmes" to sew over my "Stewart" #10 Steelers jersey? Wait a minute, I just admitted to owning a Kordell Stewart jersey?!?

Not watching the game but noticed that McNabbs completion percentage was low - 4 looks to Curtis went incomplete. Was it McNabb or was it Curtis (caught 1 of 5?) or some other reason?
