I know NY is no where near done but I am bored at halftime and thinking of next year already for them.

Agudelo and Rogers start up top.

Henry plays in the hole like he is tonight, he should get beat up much less than having to deal with the massive MLS center backs

Dump Rost, and sell Marquez for what ever you can get

Sign Shalrie Joseph from the Revs who is out of contract to protect Henry.

Use the large amount of money freed up by Marquez and Rost and go get two solid DP level players in what ever positions you feel weakest.

I was just thinking about Rost after watching highlights of that LA goal.Solid GK, but pretty unspectacular. I've not seen him take over a game the way GKs sometimes do- he'll make the saves he should make but not the ones that put teams on his back and wins games.

He is an average MLS keeper. To be paid at a DP level is a waste of money in my opinion.

DP money AND DP slot. for an "ok" GK.

Both conference finals will be this Sunday.

At 5 on FSC KC hosts Houston

At 9 on ESPN LA hosts RSL.

The conference final are single games.

If you missed Luke Rogers brilliant display of stupidity last night, here is the video. Skip to about 20 seconds in.

2 inches to the right, that does some nasty damage considering her glasses.

Starting to lose faith in klinnsman based entirely on the continued inclusion of orozco-fiscal
Nevermind the disappearance of goals and goal scoring opportunities.I would have no problem canning his ### and getting another coach on board prior to qualifying if we continue to struggle. The time to do it would be ASAP.

There's still no Fire Jurgen Klinsmann Facebook group yet

Cant fire guy before he has had a real game, especially since he hasn't even had donovan and dempsey at the same time

Plus he has brought in several new players with potential. But the orozco thing just bothers me. The kid is like 0 for 5 so far and there are other options begging for a shot

And even worse, the other options are starting to feel jilted and may look for other suitors.

Maybe that's a threat with John. Does anyone really think Omar has a shot with Mexico? They're loaded with young talent.

Only thing I see about Omar and Mexico is that he gives them something they have never had. A fairly dominant force in the air.I don't know enough about Mexico's young center backs to offer any real opinion though but personally I would hate to see him go to Mexico because he could neutralize the one huge advantage we have over Mexico on set pieces.

Already? Has it even been six months or any important games?

You HAD to know this would happen. Klinnsman is trying to change the culture, style and play of the team. He HAS to see what he has and how it might work in different combinations. Orozco may have shown Klinsmann something and he is trying to piece around him. Maybe he is whats avail at the moment to play. Who knows. But this is pretty ridiculous talk right now. Any changes in coaching would take the US back several steps.

Only one person suggested that, and they shouldn't be taken seriously anyway. Only real #####ing going on here is about Orozco.

Not suggesting he should be on the hot seat. But the illusion that klinsman was some great coach is gone as long as he keeps calling that scrub into camp. He has no redeeming qualities at the international level. Hell, even bornstein did something every once in a while

I thought Orozco played reasonably well against Mexico. He's been a disaster since, but no more than Ream. A ball-playing CB is a key feature of how Klinsmann wants to play. And if he doesn't put one out there just because he's worried about giving up goals, he's less able to evaluate what he has in the midfield, because the holding player is forced to take more of a distribution role. I don't know if JK is a good coach. But he seems at least smart enough that I doubt he's not aware of how Orozco has played and that he keeps picking a ton of holding midfielders. Obviously that's something he wants to keep looking at. Gonzo isn't going to fill that role. From what I've seen of John (another tall CB who's never looked great on the ball to me, although I've read some people praise that part of his game) he isn't either. The guy on the outside looking in who seems to have that skillset (but who may not be physically capable in the international game) is Michael Parkhurst.

Parkhurst is a good suggestion as is the guy I was talking about earlier in Geoff Cameron from the Dynamo. Stronger than Ream for marking and tackling and much better foot skills than Gonzo. He will have a great test in the conference finals as KC is loaded with strong fast attackers. Gale Agbossoumonde would appear to have the perfect set of skills that JK would want but via bad choices in management of his career, he is dieing on the vine. It is criminal how little playing time he is getting at 19 years old.

Is Agbossoumonde still at Hoffenheim?
No, he never was there from my knowledge. The US players at Hoffenheim are Fabian Johnson, and Danny Williams. Joseph Gyau is with their youth team.I believe Boss is at Eintracht Frankfurt and has just started to see some time with their U23 team.

The Cosmos issued the following press release today. If you are only awaiting the all mighty press release that answers "where the #### do you intend to play?", please skip this ;)

November 2, 2011 (New York, NY) - There has been a buyout at The New York Cosmos and management changes have taken place in various areas of our organization. This also results in a full restructure of both our business and staffing, which will continue to be assessed by the new leadership team that is expected to be appointed within the next 60 days. It is unequivocally the goal of the current ownership to become an MLS team in the most expedient manner possible, and decisions for the club will be made with this in mind.

Because LA won the Supporters Shield and its automatic entry in the 2012-2013 CCL, that means the RSL has also earned a spot in 2012-2013 CCL.

The winner of the Houston KC conference final will grab the 4th MLS CCL spot (note: Seattle has one of the spots from winning the US Open Cup).

The likely 5th MLS CCL team comes from Canada (Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal).

Well, at least it didn't say 60-90 days :)

Here is Caleb Porters very first U23 camp roster. 31 total players, several of which are also eligible for the U20 team. Klinsmann worked with the coaches to structure the practices similar to how he runs the senior side.

Ramos and Reyna will be running the camp in Germany while Porter is still with Akron.

Lots of interesting names on the roster, including Joe Corona who was a player to be assumed lost to Mexico. Looks like yet another American is on the books at Hoffenhiem that I did not know about. They are putting Fulamerica to shame :D

Nice to see Mixx in the mix. I liked what little we saw of him when he had a cup of coffee with the senior side.

U.S. UNDER-23 ROSTER BY POSITION Detailed Roster

if they had any sense of humor or sense of history in the least they would edit the "60 day" line to be what you said :)

From IvesNew York Red Bulls forward Juan Agudelo and Philadelphia Union forward Jack McInerney, midfielder Amobi Okugo and right back Sheanon Williams will all join the U.S. U-23 camp in Germany that is set to begin on Monday, raising the number of players in that camp up to 35.====================Yikes, I just realized 35 players and no Adu. Teal Bunbury will be joining the camp if KC loses on Sunday.

Since Jozy is getting decent minutes now and the senior side will be prepping for WCQ next summer, I wonder if Jozy gets left off the Olympic roster should they qualify. Landon has made some chirping noises that he would like to be one of the three over age players.

Adu has already "led" an Olympic team and is right up against the age limit. I'm not sure I'd put him on the Olympic team either, as I don't really see the upside. I feel the same way about Jozy. I'd rather see Mixx and Agudelo and Bunbury. I also might be a total homer (Manassas and JMU represent!) but I would have liked to have seen C.J. Sapong get a sniff with the Under 23s. He's raw as hell, but there's a physicality to him that few guys we have enjoy. He's the type of dirty work guy that I think would make life easier on a Juan or a Jozy.

I've enjoyed flashes of Adu with the Union, but you have to wonder about a guy only getting 20 minutes a game in the two biggest games of his team's season. He's got to play more to make the senior side. I still think he has a valuable skill set for the national team, but only if were to become comfortable as a deep lying playmaker who also breaks up play in front of the back four. I think he could do that. All he needs is the commitment. He's no less physically capable than Makelele was.

I could see Adu playing the #6 role in a 4-2-3-1 set-up. But he'd have to work like crazy, especially going back. It's hard to tell if he's willing to do this unless he's playing 90 minutes. This is also one of the deeper positions at the national level with Bradley, Edu, Jones and Torres as alternatives.

He has the best ball skills of any American when he is on. We saw that the last time he started a match for the Nats. Also, I wanted to add it's nice to see Buddle getting some love from JK...guy is a baller.(I may have already said this)

Bradley - solid Edu - limited offensivley, but I like him for what he is, particularly in physical matchupsJones - MediocrityTorres - Arguably the most inconsistent player on the roster, but does have flashes of brillianceAdu brings something to the table that none of these players have, ball skill and spectacular passing on the attack. He has his shortcomings, but if we are down a goal I take Edu over every one of these players sans an in-form Bradley.

Wow, Charles Renken in the mix for the U-23s? Should be interesting to see if he makes any impact.
Pretty cool story
As a young boy, Renken began playing barefoot soccer everyday in the streets and fields of Zambia. Using makeshift soccer balls out of melted plastic. Once he moved to the US, Charles had his first experience with organized soccer when his new adoptive parents enrolled him on a local U-9 team, in the spring of 2003. The team hadn't won a game the previous season. They didn't lose a game with Renken. Overwhelming the suburban kids with his raw power and creativity cultivated from the unforgiving shanty town streets in Zambia. Renken, instantly, was a menacing force on the pitch, taking on three to four defenders at once, while scoring goals in bunches. By the callow age of ten, Renken, played in and dominated the U-14 league.[1]
