Just think what people are like behind closed doors when in comes to racism in Europe when they do this kind of stuff in public.

The US has set up a friendly against Belgium in May. That gives the US the following run of games. May 29th vs BelgiumJune 2nd vs GermanyJune 7th vs Jamaica (WCQ)June 11th vs Panama (WCQ)June 18th vs Honduras (WCQ)This is obviously an important run of games where the US is likely to need at least 7 points from the 3 qualifiers, with 2 of them being at home and traveling to the projected weakest side.

Damn. Now Super Mario will score a hat trick every game for a month, sulk, burn his house down or come up with something completely different.I can't wait for his reaction! Please make it awesome Mario!

Interesting that he thinks they'll play Demps in the hole and Jones on the left midfield. I don't love the formation, but it could prove useful in breaking down a team that's playing behind the ball and trying to counter.MB needs to have a big game all over the pitch. He needs to get stuck in so that Jones doesn't. He needs to protect Zusi from getting out of sorts from playing in that environment, and obviously he needs to spring Dempsey on some diagonal runs into the box.
If thats the lineup, I d think Jones, Deuce and Bradley will be pretty fluid. I hope Demps is able to play higher to make those diagonals... but really hes more of a find the space and check back or camp out kind of player. Either way Id guess hes in more of MF role to helo defensivwly away.Is Gomez still starting and/or scoring in Mexico? If not, maybe we see Jozy instead?

Gomez has started all 5 games so far and has 1 goal and 1 assist for Santos this season (which started at beginning of year).

I like those two friendlies. Worldclass opposition to fine tune our top players without forcing them into the long trip back to the US. And Belgium has to be everybody's darkhorse for 2014 given this incredible generarion of talent.

The two friendlies are in Cleveland and DC respectively so all players will come back which is fine since this is setup to be after the Euro season is complete and act as a 5 game mini tournament for the US to acclimate to.

Doug McIntyre (@DougMacESPN)2/6/13, 9:50 AMU.S. Soccer prez Sunil Gulati: all 5 Hex home games will be at MLS venues, 4 of them at soccer-specific stadiums. #usmntMost are interpreting this to mean Seattle will get one. The only other non SSS are DC and NE. DC is getting the 100th anniversary game against Germany.

Looks like we now know why Gus Johnson was calling SJ Earthquakes games on the radio last season.

Gus Johnson steps up to big-time soccer

By Ridge Mahoney and Paul Kennedy

Not many American broadcasters have shown they can cross-over from other sports to soccer, but FOX Sports is giving Gus Johnson a big shot.

Johnson, who has worked numerous sports during the past two decades and joined the network in 2011, will team with FOX Soccer analyst Warren Barton for the Real-Madrid-Manchester United Champions League match Feb. 13 live from the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Johnson has also been assigned to English Premier League matches, the English FA Cup final and the Champions League final. To help his preparation, he worked some MLS games on radio and spent several weeks in Europe watching games and meeting veteran soccer broadcasters such as Martin Tyler.

“No doubt that the followers of this sport are among the most passionate, knowledgeable fans in the world, and I’m a newcomer,” said Johnson 45. “The effort to learn the sport and absorb its nuance has been a humbling experience. While I’ve put a lot of time into my preparation thus far, it’s definitely going to take a lot of reps before I’ve mastered soccer’s rhythm and pace, but I am determined to do so, and with all the support I’m receiving I have no doubt that I will.”

After debuting with Barton in Madrid, Johnson will call the Arsenal-Bayern Munich match Feb.19 with former Liverpool keeper Ray Clemence, and the Manchester City-Chelsea Premier League game Feb. 24 with ex-Arsenal defender Lee Dixon. Other assignments will be announced as they are determined.

Johnson, a native of Detroit, worked 15 years for CBS Sports and attained notoriety for his hyperventilated calls of NCAA men’s basketball tournament games. He works college football games and NFL programs for FOX.
:excited: Gus Johnson can make a negative 0-0 draw exciting :pickle: -QG

Grant Wahl (@GrantWahl)2/6/13, 11:15 AMRay Hudson, Phil Schoen and Cobi Jones will call the Honduras-USA WCQ today on BeIN Sport (4 pm ET kickoff, 3 pm ET pregame).

Here is another lineup prediction, this one has Jozy on benchPro Soccer Talk US Lineup
We don't stand a chance with this lineup.
I deleted the post because I can't get it to link correctly on my iPad. Here it is typed out.....................HowardChandler....Cam......Boca.........Fab..........................Williams..............Bradley...............Jones.......Zusi........................Dempsey....................Gomez

Sub in Altidore up top and go with Zusi/Gomez on the right and that's the lineup I'd like to see.

This is not a prediction. He appears to be quoting a source

LeanderLastNameNoFit (@LeanderOnFOX)2/6/13, 1:28 PMAm told lineup for the US against Honduras is: Howard; Chandler, Cameron, Bocanegra, Johnson; Williams, Jones, Bradley, Zusi; Dempsey, Gomez

I know.....just a small joke.

Mexico should crush Jamaica tonight at the Azteca if form holds. I don't really know what result I want from the Panama Costa Rica game.

f'kn Phil must still hate Chelsea. Luiz should not be playing a meaningless friendly when he's not played for his club the past two weeks. I hate these international friendly days. WTF is Juan Mata playing today in #####ing Qatar??

Official lineup. Much different than what was predicted. Huge night for Gonzo. U.S. Soccer (@ussoccer)2/6/13, 3:01 PM#USMNT lineup for #USAvHON: Howard ©; Chandler, Gonzalez, Cameron, F. Johnson; Williams, Jones, Bradley, E. Johnson; Dempsey, Altidore

No Zusi and no Gomez is a nice surprise. Ditto that for JK having enough faith in a defender to replace Bocanegra in an important game. My USMNT chops aren't what they used to be, but this seems like a very mobile team to me.

* Was hoping Mikey would get the arm band. *Big moment tonight as a good game by Gonzo could secure his position and send a long tenured Boca into a back up role. One hell of a match though for Gonzo to pop his qualifying cherry in. *Neither of the Honduran strikers is overtly pacy, which should work better with a Gonzo Cam middle. *Love Gomez coming off the bench*Let this be the night Jozy has a big game and cements himself along with Bradley, Howard, Cam, Fab and Dempsey as the cornerstones of the team.

Considering how immobile the roster is, this is pretty decent (Chandler and Fab make a huge difference at the full back slots).
