BREAKING: Jose Mourinho fined £50,000 and given suspended one-match stadium ban
Stadium Ban? I've seen touchline bans, but does this mean he isnt even allowed to attend the game? Watching it at home on TV like the rest of us?
It suspended - meaning he is on double secret probation - i.e. he can't have any more offenses for 1 year, or they will apply the ban.

oh thanks

Great close control, but what terrible defending. None of the defenders had any idea what their teammate was going to do. It looked like slapstick.

The Revs Montreal game this Saturday is tracking to over 40k for attendance. The Revs highest attendance during the regular season in 20 years is 38k. It would be very cool if they broke that.

Gomez and Ings both out with torn ACLs.

Welcome to Liverpool, Klopp
Just be happy that Dier is out of the game on Saturday, as well as his back-up Mason, as well as his back-up Bentaleb. Oh, and Spurs best offensive player of the season Son, is also still sidelined....

Do they play on field turf or grass???
Field turf.

It is very good field turf, not like the cement crap in Seattle but still falls very short of grass imo.
Thanks, I want to see me some Drogba... but not so sure how much he will play on turf.

Montreal has only played in one field turf game since Drogba arrived and he sat that one out.

Montreal appears to be in a good position to make the playoffs with a 4 point lead on Orlando with two games left so they may sit him again.

Toronto won tonight 2-1 which puts them into the playoffs for the first time ever and the second goal may very well be the goal of the year. And could only be scored by one person.

Good lord is this pretty

Three defenders on the ground by the time he took the 'wonderstrike'... :chub:
I even enjoy the very early part of the play where a defender bounces off of Giovinco's 120 pound frame :)

MLS Supporter shield looks to be down to just 2 teams, with LA probably on the outside looking in

2 games left for all teams

NYR: 54 points

Dallas: 54 points

LA: 51 points

Vancouver: 50 points

IMO the edge should go to NYR here as they have only Chicago and Philly left and both teams are done for the season while Dallas has to get through RSL and SJ both fighting for playoff spots and position.

like a boss... in the Finnish 4th division.
Or the NASL. But who's quibbling about geography. Tampa. Finland. Same difference.
Poor Freddy - signed with the Rowdies in July with the stated purpose of working with legendary manager Thomas Rongen (star of the greatest soccer documentary ever made), only to see Rongen fired a month later.
Sign Feddie and bid Adu to your job....

How 'bout it...he did the same in the Italy-Norway game, THE DAY BEFORE...had a giant Scandinavian bounce off him too; he just "boxed" him out. My favorite part of all this is that he flew to Toronto overnight and upheld his commitment to the team, by playing in a crucial game the very next day. That is awesome, ...you just don't see that often in sports anymore. Phenomenon, given the context...

I swear... and I keep saying it... the US just hasn't figured out how to teach players to hold the ball like that. I was a biggish player (6', 170 in my playing days), and I was horrible at it- I had to dribble or pass my way out of things or I'd lose the ball. every US game against even the minnows of the region- that's something that every one of those players can do... receive the ball and keep at least one player off of it for as long as they like.

without the skill, it forces the US to play quick passes (which are fine in the right context) and limits the amount they can keep control of the ball as a team. before I die, I hope to see US players figure this out.

It will be interesting to see if Giovinco gets an offer enticing enough to make him leave. I have a feeling the offers will be enough for TFC to consider it.

He is making a boat load of money and being here has actually improved his chances to play for Italy and he seems to be enjoying the lifestyle.

“The difference between Italy and here is that here we can enjoy time with family, time with friends,” Giovinco says. “So after training, we can just go for a walk, we can go for an ice cream with the family, shopping, whatever. And when we do get stopped by fans, they are very respectful, and they are not so touchy and aggressive. So it’s a different lifestyle, and I’m definitely enjoying it.”

interesting.

I saw something on ESPN earlier about this, but painting it in more of a "we gave the money with the right intentions, but now we're concerned that FIFA mismanaged it"... that was chock full of between the lines eyerolling.

will be ineresting to see where this goes.

Sepp Blatter told Swiss broadcaster RROTV that the 2011 payment to Michel Platini that led to both men being suspended from FIFA was based on a "gentleman's agreement" and there was no written contract. Platini has said the money was unpaid additional salary from his job as Blatter's adviser between 1998 and 2002, which FIFA could not afford to pay at the time.
OK Sepp

I'd be more surprised if investigative reporters could find the last time a WC (or Olympics) was awarded where bribery was not involved.

These little munchkins are all ### and thighs. Harder to move than you think.
Why you hatin' on Italians? The northern breed are quite stout & tall...but they're also corrupt, racketeering racists, consolidated against the "Southerners/farmers"..which we all know are NOT racist...Lazio's fanbase's endearing multiculturalism being the proof...THE TRAINS RAN ON TIME!

Orlando's win tonight in front of a big crowd over NYC keeps them in the playoff hunt and leaves NE, Montreal and Columbus with still work to do to secure their own places.

Montreal visits the Revs tomorrow in front of the largest ever crowd for a Revs regular season game. Drogba made the trip and Montreal says they were going to wait to see if he would play depending on how bad they felt the turf was and whether Orlando won or not.

Montreal is likely extra leery about Gillette since they lost the promising Cameron Porter this year to a non contact injury at Gillette early in the season.

For the Scousers - I hope for a good game tomorrow, and hopefully both teams come through without any more injuries!

good luck

COYS!!

Rochester beat LA Galaxy 2 tonight 2-1 AET to win the USL Championship at home.

Rochester scored in the 90th minute to tie to game late and get to extra time.

USL has applied to become a division 2 league starting in January of 2017. They are awaiting the US Soccer's ruling.

I must admit, Tottenham coming out on to the pitch to Phantom Menace music is awesome.

Edited field to "pitch" please forgive me.

Have to think it's just like Klopp drew it up so far. Tottenham haven't been settled on the ball in the Liverpool half at all so far, and just the one potential break. Meanwhile Liverpool look pretty dangerous and have turned them over a dozen times.
