Toronto won tonight 2-1 which puts them into the playoffs for the first time ever and the second goal may very well be the goal of the year. And could only be scored by one person.

The Revs Montreal game this Saturday is tracking to over 40k for attendance. The Revs highest attendance during the regular season in 20 years is 38k. It would be very cool if they broke that.

How 'bout it...he did the same in the Italy-Norway game, THE DAY BEFORE...had a giant Scandinavian bounce off him too; he just "boxed" him out. My favorite part of all this is that he flew to Toronto overnight and upheld his commitment to the team, by playing in a crucial game the very next day. That is awesome, ...you just don't see that often in sports anymore. I swear... and I keep saying it... the US just hasn't figured out how to teach players to hold the ball like that. I was a biggish player (6', 170 in my playing days), and I was horrible at it- I had to dribble or pass my way out of things or I'd lose the ball. every US game against even the minnows of the region- that's something that every one of those players can do... receive the ball and keep at least one player off of it for as long as they like.
without the skill, it forces the US to play quick passes (which are fine in the right context) and limits the amount they can keep control of the ball as a team. before I die, I hope to see US players figure this out.

It will be interesting to see if Giovinco gets an offer enticing enough to make him leave. I have a feeling the offers will be enough for TFC to consider it.
He is making a boat load of money and being here has actually improved his chances to play for Italy and he seems to be enjoying the lifestyle.

I saw something on ESPN earlier about this, but painting it in more of a "we gave the money with the right intentions, but now we're concerned that FIFA mismanaged it"... that was chock full of between the lines eyerolling.

Orlando's win tonight in front of a big crowd over NYC keeps them in the playoff hunt and leaves NE, Montreal and Columbus with still work to do to secure their own places.
Montreal visits the Revs tomorrow in front of the largest ever crowd for a Revs regular season game. Drogba made the trip and Montreal says they were going to wait to see if he would play depending on how bad they felt the turf was and whether Orlando won or not.
Montreal is likely extra leery about Gillette since they lost the promising Cameron Porter this year to a non contact injury at Gillette early in the season.

Rochester beat LA Galaxy 2 tonight 2-1 AET to win the USL Championship at home.
Rochester scored in the 90th minute to tie to game late and get to extra time.
USL has applied to become a division 2 league starting in January of 2017. They are awaiting the US Soccer's ruling.

Have to think it's just like Klopp drew it up so far. Tottenham haven't been settled on the ball in the Liverpool half at all so far, and just the one potential break. Meanwhile Liverpool look pretty dangerous and have turned them over a dozen times.
