Similarish club, manager with good track record with similar players, in a country that speaks English and puts him on TV in front of a bigger US audience almost every single match.

Really not crazy to think Pulisic might be interested.

 
Got a little misty reading this...human decency and generosity get me every time:

A group of Brazilian soccer teams hope to help Chapecoense recover after the majority of its players died in a plane crash Monday. In a statement published Tuesday, the clubs offered to loan players free of charge to populate the team during the 2017 season.

“We are sad, we sympathize with this tragedy, but we shall help,” said Gilvan Tavares, the president of the club Cruzeiro said in a video statement published on Globo and translated by the Mirror. “Working together, we, the club presidents of Brazilian football, wait for the club’s return to compete in the highest competition of Brazilian soccer.”

Other top-flight teams that signed the statement are Corinthians, Santos, Palmeiras, Coritiba, Portuguesa and Sao Paulo.

The directors have also asked Brazil’s soccer body to allow Chapecoense an exemption from regulation should it slip in the rankings in the next three years. Currently, Chapecoense sits in ninth place in the Serie A rankings.

“This is the minimum gesture of solidarity that is at our disposal at the moment,” the directors said in a written statement published by Globo. “But [this gesture] is endowed with the sincere objective of reconstructing this institution that Brazilian soccer lost today.”

Plus he already knows and worked with Klopp...can't overlook that possible connection.

Another thing the guys hoping for Pulisic to move to England have on their side is that Christian has an affinity for England from spending time there when he was younger.  Here is a snippet of a story of him talking about his time in England.

That game really stunk right up to the point Woodburn came in.  I'm no fan of Stewart.  I think he plays almost like a 5th defender.  We couldn't get anything going.  I'd have to rewatch the game to see, but when Woodburn came in for him, Can (I think) took over that spot, and he adds more offensively and pushed higher up the field than stewart did.

Wij almost immediately looked much better also as Woodburn was out on the left and Wij came back inside.  

I wasn't super impressed with Ejaria myself.  He got good marks from James Pearce but I didn't see it.  He and Mane both lost the ball a million times in the first half.  Mane now is on a streak of bad games but in two of those games he ended up making a big play that led to a goal, so I'm not really worried yet.

I get that.  That's my point I guess.  I don't like our team with that position the way Stewart plays it.  Henderson has been playing there but he provides much more going forward than Stewart.

That's instructions, not playing style. Thought Kev did well, provided the necessary cover for a green back four, tidy in distribution, good interceptions.

He did ok I suppose if defensive stability was the primary goal.  After all it did work out.  I mean obviously the offense isn't going to click when you have 8 new players so I'm likely being overly critical. 

All that said, it was a pretty poor first 60 minutes or so and we only really clicked when athe Woodburn for Stewart change happened.

 
I know it is basically ancient history by now, but do you guys memberberries when Klopp sucked at Dortmund and was run out of town? I 'member....

I'm kind of curious about the slobbering over Pulisic to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a very promising talent, but also that he has quite some ways to go.

Now, I haven't watched a ton of Dortmund games this year, only 3 or 4, but I haven't seen a finished product that can go in and help a team this year. For the future, sure, but is that worth 30+ million pounds? For an EPL team to come in for him, I think 15-20 is more reasonable given the current financial climate, but why would Dortmund even consider it at that price?

When you see Stewie in there, think Lucas. He's less dynamic than Can, Hendo or Georgio, but he has a purpose.

Don't envy him tbh... Imagine fronting a Moreno, Lucas, Klavan, TAA back four... well, back three, since Albie doesn't really count.

ETA: He is much tidier in possession than Can in current form.

I assume the slobbering is limited to US-based fans only.  I doubt anyone anywhere else in the world views him as anything other than a young prospect no different than many many other young players worldwide. As far as I can tell, the Pulisic to LFC rumors are no different than the constant rumors about hundreds of players moving here and there we are constantly subjected to, and this one makes no more sense than any other. As far as I can tell, Dortmund has no reason to sell, the player has no reason to move and LFC has no reason to overpay to make it happen.

On the LFC message boards I frequent, they aren't all that enamored with the idea of Pulisic, especially considering the price-tag.  A lot of fans would think LFC overpaid if 30M was spent.

This board is no where near the slobber level of reddit and Big Soccer.  People are insane about the kid (and to be fair he is doing things that no other American ever has so it should not be that hard to understand the excitement).  

Most acknowledge he is far from Messi at this point but it is worth noting that Messi was breaking in at the exact same age too.

 
Ben Woodburn is basically one year younger than Pulisic.  He just scored ONE goal in a league cup game and the LFC world is slobbering over him, as he broke the record for youngest goal scorer.

Pulisic is extremely young to be playing a major role for a Champions League team that is going to make the round of 16. Now granted, Borussia is under-achieving in the league, but for Pulisic to be playing a major role in the team at a young 18 is pretty impressive, no matter who you are.  He also has already made it as a regular in the national team, which is also a massive accomplishment.  As an example, Coutinho is still thought of by some as a young player, as he just broke into Brazil.  When he was 18, he was struggling to see the field with Inter.

I think the hype is 100% justified.

You realize that Liverpool sent a driver to his house as a teen to take him back and forth to training, he's had club hype for a while.
