Right now it just feels like nobody is keeping City off the board in a match. And we might not be at Peak DeBruyne and Peak Sane yet.
Sane is young and I certainly wouldn't say he can't get better - especially from a consistency standpoint, but De Bruyne is right in his prime and seems to completely understand his role in Pep's system. If he can be better, the rest of the EPL might as well just shut shop for a few years.
Saw a stat that it is Pep's best start in his career.  Pretty crazy.
I meant to mention yesterday... re Sane- at 21, yeah still young. every time I see him feels like he gets better and better. he has those speed/quickness intangibles, but he seems to be getting pep's system and his relationship with the rest of the team better... and still on a steep growth trajectory in terms of the rest of his game IMO. scary.

agree with pre... this is a group of young fantastic players; with all these guys at a high skill and athelticism level AND getting pep's full-field approach... scary. like barca- but without a messi... so less scary than that. somebody mentioned the defense- which I agree while very good, isn't tip-top.. so maybe a potential weak spot. but like barca, with the team defending like mad all over the field in numbers... the work done by the MF and F can hide some of those slight flaws.

I saw this on twitter today and thought of you guys talking about conversion rates.  Sounds like CRo is having a nightmare year

If Lionel Messi misses his next 507 shots in La Liga, he'll have the same conversion rate as Cristiano Ronaldo (2.08%)
It all went downhill when @The Gator started posting less.

Coincidence?  I think not.

Austin resolution to explore sites passes unanimously. City staff report due December 7. My favorite part of the discussion involved one of our Council members not knowing that "offsides" was a soccer term and not just an American football one.

Just putting this here just in case anyone is remotely interested.

As part of our trip to London this November, there is a raffle offered with a pretty sweet prize that is donated by the tour company.

2 x International Round-trip airfare from the prize winners closest airport to Barcelona or Madrid
4 nights in a 4-star hotel in Barcelona or Madrid with breakfast
2 tickets for FC Barcelona v. Real Madrid in the Nou Camp Stadium or Bernabeu (you choose)

These are for $50.  If anyone is interested, send me a PM or you can post here I suppose.
Couple guys were interested in this from here.  Just reposting in case anyone else wants to get in.

Heading to London in 1 week for our trip.  Can't wait.....

FIFA rankings are suspect and Africa is always Africa but the top three ranked teams entering CAF qualifying are all staying home.   Morocco was drawn from pot 3 and ended up going undefeated in their group.  It was a great cycle for North African sides in spite of Algeria's struggles; three of the five berths go to countries bordering the Mediterranean.

Congrats to the qualifiers:  Tunisia, Nigeria, Morocco, Senegal and Egypt.  Go Super Eagles.

2016 - Marco van Basten to Hakim Ziyech: "How stupid can you be to choose Morocco if you are in contention for the Dutch national team?”

2017 - Hakim Ziyech helps Morocco reach #Russia2018... The Dutch didn't qualify.

FC Cincy continuing their all out push for expansion.

Today they held a press conference to show their new kits, showcasing their new jersey sponsor along with the number 19 on the back to represent the year they want to enter MLS and the jersey had an MLS badge on it.

Italy facing Sweden in 1 hour. Down 1-0 from last week's loss. If they don't overcome that today, they miss the World Cup as well for the first time since 1958.

Forza Italia!!

With all my utmost respect to @Kafka - nah, I am rooting for the Swedes*....nobody will even notice the US missing, if Italy fail to qualify.

*Unless Italy win, in which case, I was rooting for them the entire time...

Does Zlatan bless us with the opportunity to watch his majestic play if they make the WC?

What do you guys think about this?  Normally I would say this is the type of player who could dominate in MLS but I can't shake the feeling that he is not going to try very hard....

#MLS sources telling me that #NYCFC has entered preliminary discussions about signing #MCFC mid Yaya Toure. NYC wants him to join team in January; Man City would prefer summer transfer.

This is not a good idea, even on the small pitch at Yankees stadium.  Toure doesn't seem to give two ####s for MCFC now, can't imagine him even pretending to try on a hot night in Orlando (like a cold night in Stoke, but the opposite).

do. or do not. there is no try. in yaya's case, the latter will be the most apt. I have very low expectations if this move actually happens.

Grant Wahl says his sources are telling him MLS is going to choose 2 teams in December from Cincy, Sacramento and Memphis.

If that is true they are likely leaving out a very strong potential market (albeit small).

I still am holding out some hope that they let all 3 in and push Miami off to the next round.

I’d say it’s a bad idea as a DP and fine as not...there’s also talk that they are going to use TAM to pay down Maxi’s contract to make it a non-DP.

The other low grade rumor is Ronaldo is still open to MLS this summer
