Well, you can't expect a woman to go from work-a-day doctor to gangster's wife overnight. And she's still learning--this was portrayed well in the coffee scene.
I agree on all accounts. I think it has been well handled and that her backbone was well timed. Plus, as you pointed out, the coffee scene was a great precursor to show her evolution as being a part of the club vs trying to live apart from it in some way.

I thought Tara was looking tasty when she was laying the smackdown to the admin lady.I can't wait to see how this plays out with ZObel and "Rollins" ending up in prison instead of dead. He'll show up again I think.
Loved that scene. I let out a big "yeah" when she layeth the smackdown on that stiff. Reminded me of when Daniel Laruso took out Johnny with the crane.

It was good to see Tara with backbone rather than a victim or upset. Her character was starting to get wearing as she just constantly seemed so 'weak'.

Excellent scene with Peg explaining the respect she is entitled to. She will come along nicely!

I kind of thought Tara's "Development" in this episode was overdone. Suddenly she goes from being mild-mannered doctor to gun-carrying-welder-of-fists? Just seemed a little much to me.

first night watching the show? They've developed her character for two seasons to get to this point, I wouldn't call it sudden

Serious question: Do you root for the Mayans? I'll hang up and listen.

I really hope Rollins remains a character on the show. He's probably my favorite after Peg. Peg really is the Carmen Soprano of Sons of Anarchy. She pwns Betty from Mad Men.

The last show was absoutely great. Zobel being forced to admit drug possession in order to be taken into custody was a nice twist.

I do have one bone to pick: For an organization that talks awfully tough, is willing to use an iron fist to respond to threats to its power base, and freely has no qualm with casual talk of snuffing out people, SAMCRO doesn't actually kill a hell of a lot of people when confrontations finally come to a head.

I wonder if the body count would be higher if they were on HBO instead of FX.

I think the relatively low body count is more realistic. David Chase has admitted that the high death toll on the Sopranos didn't reflect reality at all.

Yea, it's kind of disappointing sometimes but then I believe it's also much more in line with reality. On TV you can run around a small town and kill everything that pisses you off but in reality how are you going to sustain an organization by constantly shining the spotlight on your area of operation.I still think the first season episode where Clay cut off the rapists balls was one of the best of this series. Not sure how realistic that is but it was great TV.

new job is keeping me swamped, damn operational units in the Coast Guard never stop.Jim is in love with his voice, he should learn to be humble like Fletcher.

GB OBC today, tell them all  from me. Even Charlie weiss's lover Domer

Certainly did not see that direction coming. It helps explain how they will keep the series going as I was trying to figure out how they would pull back from the self-destruction of Jax/Clay.

:goodposting: wow

So many unexpected twists and turns. One of the best finales I've ever seen on tv. I hate that FBI female dog.

I was trying to figure out how they would do that too - definitely didn't see Abel being involved at all.The scene with Rollins' character speaking to his son was heavy as well. The fact he knew he had only a few more seconds to see his son hit me hard, even though his character was total scum.Awesome finale - very bummed I'll have to wait now.

Great season ender. Lots of good loose ends that will have to be addressed next season. The hunt for the Irishman should be great, and the FBI ##### vs Peg Bundy looks very promising also. Zobel being outed as an FBI informant and then managing to stay alive also ranks well.

The Rollins execution was extremely riveting.

The only thing I don't understand is why didn't cameran, the irish guy who stole abel, go ahead and kill tara? He killed half-sack and kidnapped a baby...why leave a witness.

This didn't work for me. The whole place was empty. Take the 30 seconds, run in, and whack him. Wouldn't have held them up meeting up with Jax.

He wanted SAMCRO to know that they took a son from him, so he would take a son from them.

I agree. I'm like c'mon it might not be the way you wanted but just go do it already.

I think it was great, my wife disagrees.

Zobel - instead of dead, he's left in an arguably worse position. HE has to go to Hungary, alone with his daughter now dead, exposed as a fraud and a liar to not only legit people but criminals as well. He's about as ruined as you can be while still alive.

ATF/Cameran - didn't see that coming. Interesting twist. To find that Stahl is the most despicable person of them all was a great touch, especially after she looked so human when Opie almost killed her.

Gemma - No idea how they'll deal with this one short of having Stahl recant and go down for the killings. Should be an interesting web to untangle next season. When she was leaving town, it looked like she and the old Sheriff had already conceded they were never coming back to Charming.

Agreed. That scene was :blackdot: Loved Rollins' character. Sad to see him go. What a great scene. Also loved the musical choices this episode. Went well with the mood and tempo.

BTW, do you really think that was Zobel's daughter? I have my doubts.

My wife just told me that the guy who services her microscopes during the summer (she teaches Biology) is the Irishmans father. Thought that was funny.

1. Agreed. That scene was :goodposting: 2. Loved Rollins' character. Sad to see him go. What a great scene. Also loved the musical choices this episode. Went well with the mood and tempo.

1. I loved that Clay said let's go, it brought the whole season full circle. Clay and Jax battled all of season 2, both at each other's throats. Then Gemma tells them about the gang rape and wham they are both father/son again. This exemplifies the point that Clay has Jax back no matter what, that the bond is stronger than ever. 2. could not agree more

3. Seriously? that was Zobel's daughter, no question about it.

3. That's what got me thinking as well. Also his reaction that she's dead. He was upset but nothing like he should have been if that was really his daughter. They look nothing alike. My gut tells me he adopted her/took care of her at a young age given her look (any Arian's wet dream).

I was trying to figure out what book on tape that was being listened to in jail before they whacked the Arian. Anyone have any ideas? I searched some of it but got no results.

Just got done watching the finale.

I think we have seen the last of Zoebel. It wouldn't make any sense for him to come back to Charming with that big bullseye on his back.

I am more interested in the Gemma vs. the ATF lady story line than I am the story line with Jax getting his kid back from the Irishman.

I like this show a lot...but I don't buy Ron Perlman in this role.

ALSO...now really looking forward to checking out the "next great Original Programing from FX: "JUSTIFIED".

Caught a couple of shots of Walton Goggins "Shane" from The Shield. Can't go wrong there.

from the interview with Kurt Sutter posted above
What's the book on tape you're listening to (as Big Otto) right before you shiv the guy who blinded you? It's actually from an old periodical called The Dublin Review from the 1800s. Quite honestly, what I did is I didn't want to have to pay for anything, so I just Googled "Sons of Anarchy" and went to books that are in the public domain, and I found this great old book that had all these great articles about the hypocrisy of governments. And the sons of anarchy that he talks about are a reference to the rebellious republic. It's actually a fascinating article that was written almost 200 years ago. If you read it, you'd feel like it could have been written today.

Yeah.....Rollins played that very well.
