I think the big thing here is Jax wanted out of guns so bad that he's actually made it worse now. Clay told him before that having the gavel is a burden and you do things you don't want to do.

It's been eluded that essentially the more "right" type of things Jax tries the more and more he is getting sucked deeper and deeper into the club and is essentially becoming what Clay was anyways.

We all know how this ends - it won't be pretty.

Nero is acting as the voice of reason - Jax won't buy into what Nero is selling.
I am wondering if Nero won't survive this season

He's probably my favorite character on the show. Hope he makes it.

is this show ending soon? I have no idea why I keep watching. It's just terrible this season, which is hard to top the awfulness of prior seasons.

I love how nobody involved with the show cares one iota about realistic character development. Tara watches Jax give Clay a lead tracheotomy and all of a sudden she realizes how much she loves him?
I don't think Kurt Sutter thinks deeply about such matters.
:bs: HE'S CREATING A MORALITY PLAY
Oh, I think he likes the idea of a message and subtext, I just think he is pretty lousy at showing people behave or evolve in their behavior as they really would.

Next season will be the last and probably even worse.
They need to give Leatherface Sagal a total face transplant and body skin graft. I don't think her skin will last another year without it falling off. Clay had a better complexion than she does.

This cast is one of the ugliest ever.

that one hooker was hot as hell though.

So does this thing officially jump the shark early in season 3?

Is it worth plowing through? Do the wheels ever get back on the tracks?

I don't remember when the shark was jumped, but it has been for sure.

The show still has moments and sometimes even whole episodes where it is pretty decent, but it is nowhere near what it used to be.

I'd say it jumped but has some hits along with the misses along the way. Most recent episode was a hit for many.

I'm hoping they resolve this missing baby thing soon otherwise I have to check out. I give it one or two more episodes max, but the storyline is brutal right now.

 i remember that. The whole Ireland trip. It takes a "few" episodes for that to iron out.

Hang in there. Jax almost bangs his 18 year old half sister. Then they kill a bunch of people. It's ok till about mid season 4. Then you have to trudge on from there.

I think the Ireland trip was actually pretty good TV. The end of that season is pretty much the pinnacle for the show, if I recall.

Agreed. I liked Ireland and agree about the S3 end.

With Ireland, as with so many things on this show, the initial idea was beyond dumb, but the execution, to me, was entertaining to watch.

I liked Clay, kind of thought they let him go too early. I was rooting for the Irish too....so kind of dissapointed that Galen got got. Still don't care about "Tara's plight" nor "Gemmas Dilemmas". What's unfortunate is that Jax reconciling and retributing with both of them is probably going to be a major tentpole of the final seasons storyline.

When all's said and done, the seven seasons should probably have been condensed into 4.....and they probably shouldn't have killed Hale the Police Chief as he a fairly decent moral compass. There's a lot of forgetable characters and highly implausible moments and I think that Sutter strayed too far from Macbeth......but all and all it's been entertaining in a very over the top way.

Its funny. I think Hales death was a bad decision also. That was the start of turning it from a hometown gang and their troubles to the ridiculous nonsense with the cartel/cia et al.

I'd laugh if the final season had no action and just showed tara and jax having a day to day normal life. Jax trades in the bike for a minivan and works as a janitor or something. Tara stays a doctor. The kids goto school and have no problems. Gemma starts dressing in dowdy grandma dresses and has a big purse with werthers originals and moth balls in it. They goto to church and pay their bills. The end.

Then when all seems to be happy ever after, the mini van filled with the whole family blows up from a bomb planted by the Irish...the end

7 episodes into the missing baby and they still aren't in Ireland. Ugh.

Not sure it's possible to drag this out longer than they have.

I remember that. Irritating.

If I had it to do all over again I would watch through the season 3 finale and then just stop. Walk away.

Can't wait for Truck's live blogging when he sees this later.
It wasn't a terrible episode. And Clay's passing does deserve a proper send-off:

Ridin' in this van, going to a new jail

Chances gettin' slim, of ever touching female

The van's hijacked! Busted out by the Prez

Gonna talk to Galen, and try to figure out what he says

*bagpipes* *gunshots*

Couple hours later, my neck can dispense Pez
:lmao:
I started with that joke and worked backwards to make it fit. :lmao:
Oh we know. And it was totally worth it.

It really seems like shows on FX start out awesome and then progressively get horrible. SOA is following the course of The Shield, Nip/Tuck and to a lesser extent Rescue Me.

I'd cut it off after *spoiler alert!* Henry Rollins getting pumped full of lead after S2.
Nah Stahl getting hers was the peak.

Okay, so let me get this straight. They spend 10 episodes and most of season 3 hunting down a baby. And after the club traveled half way around the world and killed about 50 people, Jax gets within 5 feet of his son in the mall and doesn't do anything... just lets him go. :lmao:

Shark jumped. I can't take any more. I'm done.

ETA:

"GIVE ME BACK MY SON!!!"

Oh look there he is...

"Never mind, it's cool. See ya."

:lmao: horrid

Don't worry. A musical montage and a chat with Gemma gets his fire back and he goes Patty Stompin to get his kid back.

Peppermint Patty?

Joe, the moment Stahl gets gotten, you can stop. Only until then.

Find a better show. Shield and sleepy hollow are better.

I keep recording but haven't watched SOA in weeks. I check in here once in awhile to catch up.

I think the last moment of "true goodness" for this show was Opies death and in hindsight it was a horrible decision to kill him off.

The biggest thing I have taken away from this show, is that there is plenty of childcare available in this world, if you don't really care about the quality, the safety of your kids, or what they do during the day.

There are a motorcycle gang. When have you ever seen attractive motorcycle riders with attractive females?
