SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but I love Bob Odenkirk. AMC has been a lot more hit than miss, so hopefully this turns out well.

I wouldn't read too much into that. Could be death, jail or nothing. The fact that it's a prequel is interesting...makes me think perhaps Saul will not survive the last 3 episodes?
I hope so. I love Mike. Like, in a heterosexual way, of course.i wonder if Mike will be in it
Me too, but less heterosexually.I hope so. I love Mike. Like, in a heterosexual way, of course.i wonder if Mike will be in it

I think they can do a lot more, story-wise, pre BB because he's not on the DEA's radar. Or any other's radar, really.
A prequel makes me a lot more interested.I'm surprised it's a Prequel. I wonder what year it will take place in. 2005 or something?
Hopefully, Jar Jar's not in this one.A prequel makes me a lot more interested.I'm surprised it's a Prequel. I wonder what year it will take place in. 2005 or something?

Well, I'm already ready to bust them. "Wait a minute! They just passed a 2011 Impala! That doesn't exist yet!" I can't think of any TV show that was ever set in the recent past.A prequel makes me a lot more interested.I'm surprised it's a Prequel. I wonder what year it will take place in. 2005 or something?
how about a pre-puberty Flynn?Hopefully, Jar Jar's not in this one.A prequel makes me a lot more interested.I'm surprised it's a Prequel. I wonder what year it will take place in. 2005 or something?
it seems unclear how much involvement Gilligan will have with this show.I have a hard time imagining what a spinoff series focused on Saul would be like, but at this point I would not miss an episode of anything that Vince Gilligan created. Hell, I would watch "The Breakfast Club" starring RJ Mitte or "Purple Plunder" starring Betsy Brandt.

Yeah, I'm sure that the quality of the show will depend heavily on the extent of Gilligan's involvement.it seems unclear how much involvement Gilligan will have with this show.I have a hard time imagining what a spinoff series focused on Saul would be like, but at this point I would not miss an episode of anything that Vince Gilligan created. I don't know about that. As I said earlier, AMC has put out more hits than misses. I'm not saying it's going to be good. But I'm saying there's a good chance it's going to be good.Yeah, I'm sure that the quality of the show will depend heavily on the extent of Gilligan's involvement.it seems unclear how much involvement Gilligan will have with this show.I have a hard time imagining what a spinoff series focused on Saul would be like, but at this point I would not miss an episode of anything that Vince Gilligan created. I agree. But I think Gilligan could be the difference between good and great.I don't know about that. As I said earlier, AMC has put out more hits than misses. I'm not saying it's going to be good. I'd watch that. This would be like doing a prequel for The Wire starring Clay Davis.
sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeetI'd watch that. This would be like doing a prequel for The Wire starring Clay Davis.
I'd prefer a Bunk/Freeman based sequel.I'd watch that. This would be like doing a prequel for The Wire starring Clay Davis.
"Is he a criminal lawyer?"Sometimes you need a criminal lawyer. And sometimes you need a criminal lawyer.
No way, man. I want a Bubbles spin off. I want to see the tail he pulled back in the day.I'd prefer a Bunk/Freeman based sequel.I'd watch that. This would be like doing a prequel for The Wire starring Clay Davis.
I don't think it's unclear. He'll be an executive producer and it has his blessing but the show will be created and run by the writer who created Saul for BB. Gilligan is about to get a very big deal from someone for his next show and he will move on to that.Buckfast 1 said:Yeah, I'm sure that the quality of the show will depend heavily on the extent of Gilligan's involvement.Aaron Rudnicki said:it seems unclear how much involvement Gilligan will have with this show.I have a hard time imagining what a spinoff series focused on Saul would be like, but at this point I would not miss an episode of anything that Vince Gilligan created. Not possibleOkay, I'll be the wet blanket.
I love Saul as much as the rest of you, but he's highly effective in the relatively small doses we get of him. Might his shtick get a little (a lot?) annoying having to carry his own show?
I agree with you. It needs to be a sitcom to have a chance. Making it a "serious" show based around him doesn't really work.Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.

I think it will be and should be funny, but I don't see it working as a typical sitcom. I see it more like an hour-long show with some quirky, nutty characters and some elements of realistic drama. Like "Nurse Jackie" or "Orange is the New Black" or something like that.I agree with you. It needs to be a sitcom to have a chance. Sure. I didn't mean sitcom literally, but it's definitely got to be comedic, and I'm not even sure that it can have some of the serious themes underlying something like Nurse Jackie.I think it will be and should be funny, but I don't see it working as a typical sitcom. I agree with Aaron.
The biggest pitfall that "Better Call Saul" will have to avoid is not giving Saul enough screen time.
Who can say, really? It might be terrible, but I think it's worth a shot for any BB fan.Okay, I'll be the wet blanket.

My guess would be suits, private security, and interior decorating. What does he spend his money on?
