Now the question is will he play Sunday with a strain? He played last year with a slipped disc in his back..... if the dude is tough enough to do that than I assume he should easily be able to play through a strained groin. Assuming it isn't that bad of courseLatest Tweet from SJax: It's only a strain
Same HereI honestly would rather him rest it. At 3-0, I don't need him right now. I need him later in the season.

I need him now and while I definitely want him later in the season it would really suck if he'd miss out on a matchup against the Lions.I honestly would rather him rest it. At 3-0, I don't need him right now. I need him later in the season.
Micheal Westbrook even went back out for another play and he was toastpackersfan said:I watched Deuce McAllister walk off Lambeau Field with a knee injury. I was convinced based on the fact he was walking without a limp and didn't look injured at all that he would be fine. On Monday, they announced he was out for the season. I'm hoping for the best for SJax but I've learned not to gauge potential injury scenarios based on whether a player can walk off the field or if they look OK on the sidelines.heidbrink said:Yes, he was standing on the sidelines and did look ok.

You're right. My bad. Seattle is up next. That's in week 5
Make sure to let the Rams training staff know.Same HereI honestly would rather him rest it. At 3-0, I don't need him right now. I need him later in the season.
Good input here. Since you must be so serious, the Rams should sit him too. No reason to rush him back. The same could be said for Best and Stafford. The Lions and Rams are not playing for anything this year. They know it.So why risk your star players? Now if the risk of injuring it more isn't there, play him.Make sure to let the Rams training staff know.Same HereI honestly would rather him rest it. Who says the Rams arent playing for anything? They lost 2 games by a combined 6 points then dominated the red skins. bradford looks great, the D is playing better, and if sjax is better in the crappy division they are in, who's to say they cant win that division?Good input here. It's easy to hate on the Rams, that's why people do it. They are a MUCH improved team... theyl push all seasonI would also like to end this by stating sjax puts in more effort training and rehabbing than most RBs... Ive heard this countless times throughout the years (though the rehab part is more from need than anything else) the guy is pure class, pure beast.Who says the Rams arent playing for anything? Rams | No longer interested in Larry Johnson Mon Sep 27, 03:11 PMThe St. Louis Rams are no longer interested in unrestricted free-agent RB Larry Johnson (Redskins), sources told Jim Thomas, of St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Sitting him for a week would seem to be the prudent move. However, if the injury is similar to Turner's (who also had a groin strain) then maybe he won't need to sit out a game. Turner played yesterday and had a big game.It does suck to have to deal with this because SJax looks really good this year. The Rams look to be vastly improved and if he can stay healthy he could be one of this year's best value picks. He was en route to a huge game yesterday when he got hurt.Strained groins can be very limiting and easily aggravated. I'd rather him rest it a week and be healthy the rest of the way than to aggravate it and be out for a month or more. With a groin injury, running straight ahead wouldn't be too bad, but making cuts or stopping and starting are very difficult and can easily cause more damage.
"Sources" were believed to prefer backs who run towards the end zone.Regardless of Jackson getting dinged, the Rams need to get a good backup to take some of the load off of Jackson to hopefully extend his career a year or two longer. I'm really surprised they didn't make a bigger play for someone last off-season. Add the Rams to the list of potential backup RB buyers right now. However, with RB injurys beginning to mount around the league, the trade value for guys like Maroney continues to go up.lol

You need to be patient with him. Sometimes you just got to wait out take those -5's and -10's so you can get those +2's and +3's."Sources" were believed to prefer backs who run towards the end zone.lol

Please let this guy play Sunday... not only because I have him (I have valid backup RBs), but I just love watching him run. It;s like watching a bowling ball smash through foam pinsSJax just Tweeted: Day starting to come to an end. The groin is making good progress. 9 minutes ago via Echofon
That's a lie and you know itNever have I been so interested in another man's groin.

http://fantasyfootball.fanhouse.com/2010/0...still-uncertai/St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson injured his groin on Sunday and the team feared the worst. Monday's MRI revealed that his groin injury was a strain, and not a tear, which is great news.
"We were all happy it wasn't anything worse," said head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
How long Jackson is on the shelf is still anyone's guess. Spagnuolo said that Jackson will receive treatment until Wednesday at which point the team would evaluate his ability to practice. But evaluation may be the only thing the team does as it seems to be up to Jackson as to when he'll return.
Jackson will make the final call as to whether he's able to practice and later play next Sunday when the Rams play Seattle. Until the Rams find out Jackson's availability, they are hedging their bets.
The Rams signed running back Chauncey Washington off the New York Jets' practice squad on Tuesday. Washington could help immediately on special teams and will fill in if Jackson and Keith Toston both miss the Week 5 matchup against the Seahawks.
Steven Jackson (groin) will not practice on Wednesday. No surprise here. Although Jackson's groin is merely sore after straining it in Week 3, it's unlikely he'll test it until later in the week. The Rams are still calling him day to day and have added Chauncey Washington for depth behind Ken Darby and Keith Toston. Jackson could be headed for a true game-time decision. Rams sign Washington off Jets' practice squadBy Associated PressST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Rams added insurance at running back in case Steven Jackson misses time with a groin injury, signing Chauncey Washington off the New York Jets' practice squad. The Rams made the move on Tuesday, giving Washington three days of practice to get ready in case he's needed this week against the Seattle Seahawks. Backup Kenneth Darby scored the go-ahead touchdown in Sunday's 30-16 victory over the Washington Redskins.Jackson was injured in the second quarter. On his Twitter feed, Jackson said the groin was making progress, and also reported he'd undergone acupuncture treatment.Washington was among the Jets' final roster cuts before the season began.Copyright 2010 The Associated Press. I didn't bother. Darby looked average at best, and I think I have better options on my bench than Jackson's backup. I'd be more interested in a speculative add for Torain, Blount, BJGE, etc. - a guy who might pay longer dividends than the week or two it looks like Jackson could miss. The Rams have a 1 PM kickoff this weekend, so every RB on your roster will be available should he be ruled out.so we're all owners in here. Has everyone grabbed Darby at this point? At all costs or if you have someone to spare?
Sounds like he practiced. Sounds like I should probably go ahead and drop Darby (I'm not a Jackson owner).Just finished lifting after practice. I feel like my arms are about to fall off. less than a minute ago via txt
