It’s better than a baseball score. Goff and McVay were completely inept offensively and the game was a total bore.
Yep. Rams and Patriots were two of the highest scoring offenses this season. Why are people complaining that their defenses played great today?

They got a ton of pressure on goff, they contained him when he tried to run a couple times to beat the pressure, gilmore was glue all night, that play where goff had cooks wide open in the end zone and mccourty came flying in from 20 plus yards away to break it up, the late interception, chung played great early and then broke his arm and they still only allowed 3 points. They were super aggressive at times and they gambled like the play action where they played two deep safeties and sent the house. The linebackers brought some pressure but also kept the run game in check. Just great team defense. And the offense did a great job keeping the ball away from them with sustained drives early even though they didn't get points on all of them they kept the d fresh.

0 clue what's up with Gurley, but their O seemed to take a decent hit when Kupp went down.

Because we have been treated to a lot of primetime high scoring defensive collapses this season and that’s what we are used to.

But credit where credits due. Both defenses played their heart out and if you’d told me to start the game that we would hold the Pats to 13 points I’d have been ecstatic. Belichick game planned a hell of a game.

Not really buying this either. They looked like deer in headlights all night. Never making adjustments and looked scared to death to make a mistake. Where was the imaginative play calling? The game plan was Adam Gase-esque.

except when they put up 40 offensive points against the Chiefs, 41 against the 49ers, 30 a few times. Do you even watch the Rams play?

The NFL flipped a switch around Thanksgiving. Referee “emphasis” switched up ... and suddenly a bunch of top offenses started struggling. Coincidence, I guess.

I totally agree. The defenses played well, but far from great.
The offenses just didn't do a whole lot. (On a couple occasions bad calls by the refs helped that.)

Pass rush was consistent all night, coverage was incredible all night, both sides. If it was inept offense it was caused by the defenses.

They def call the game differently in the playoffs. certainly "seems" like they keep the flags in the pockets more.
I didn't mind seeing a defensive performance. Don't mind letting the DB's be a little more grabby either - tell the WR to get more open then?

Not sure why I even dignify your trolling. But here’s an example just before the last two games against two of the worst teams in the league 49ers and AZ....
Goff's completion percentage has dropped from 70.5 percent with Kupp to 59 percent in his absence. His yards per attempt dipped from 9.9 to 7 and his touchdown-to-interception ratio has moved from 16-5 to 11-8.
But it hasn't been just Goff who has suffered from Kupp's absence. The entire offense has felt the effects. In 420 plays this season with Kupp, the Rams' third-down percentage was 47.1. In the 497 plays without him, it's down to 38.5.

I can only remember 3 passes that reached the red zone. Mccourty running in on cooks, the interception, and the one doug keeps talking about where there was contact but Gilmore made a play on the ball with his other hand.

I can understand that, I won’t disagree. All I know is I was blown away by the play of both defenses, and I don’t believe that’s an indicator of the play of either offense. Not the most exciting Super Bowl we have seen this era, not the worst either, weird feeling.

Should’ve been called but also should’ve been caught by Cooks so I put that on Cooks.
There were a few really bad calls against us but at the end of the day no excuses, our offense got outplayed by their defense.

These teams played like they knew the winner would be going to the White House for McDonalds. Neither one wanted to go.

Chicago was also the best defense they played all year and Goff has historically struggled in the cold. It wouldn't have mattered if Kupp played or not. That's why you dignify my trolling because I know more about the Rams than you do.

Saints and Chiefs would have been epic. Sadly that is what we were left with, Maroon 5 was the highlight of the night for the first time in history. 
Brady was 28/48 505yds, 3 TDs last year in the SB without Edelman. Amendola had 8/152 in his absence.
Brady was 21/35 262, 0 TDs this year in the SB with Edelman. Edelman had 10/141
Basically, Kupp is as worthless as Edelman. Great analogy

Gilmore definitely makes contact but also is turning to make a play on the ball as Harmon is getting there. Neither team got those close calls tonight but it wouldn't be shocking to see it called either.

C'mon... Gilmore turned his head after he had no shot to do anything else - after he had already grabbed Cooks' arm... He was a spectator by the time he turned his head.

Really impressed with the Rams this year, but I was finally (for once) happy to see the Patriots win. It just didn't feel like the Rams deserved to be there. Not a Saints fan; it just felt like the wrong team was facing the Patriots. So I'm not sorry the Rams end up with nothing.
Obviously we can't say they'll definitely be back, but they should be in the conversation for a few more seasons at least. Goff will only get better, as will McVay.
