You might have missed that almost every scene that Michonne is in that she's not that talkative. Even if she was, you'd complain about too much talking.

You can have Lori, Andrea and Dale or Michonne. I'm taking Michonne.

I feel like Rick is trying to help Carl develop a sense of humanity despite the tough environment he's growing up in. Having influences like Shane and now Carol is counterproductive to that.

That's also why he has been more interested in helping outsiders lately.

Rick's family is his #1 priority and will continue to drive his decisions.

I mentioned this last week. Some people (including the Talking Dead host) are calling them antibiotics, but that's not what they are.

Anyone else seeing things the way Carol kind of did, understand her reasoning - to stop the outbreak at the source (at the time were only those two sick?). Carol did the morally objectionable thing, just only to try and save the group.

She went rogue.

To just decide to murder two people and burn them to a crisp without discussion or counsel with the group leader (Rick)......dangerous. That is not humane. And I think the idea of the group (prison) is to try to keep some sense of community and normalcy in a world of utter death.

What Carol did was Governesque IMO.

He also told the others not to get the "infected walkers" blood on them. Seems like he has more experience with this than he has let on.

Rick has been farming and was not the group leader or in the inner circle (by his choice). Carol was trying to get the point across that this is the reality that they are facing and that death is a matter of hours. Do you remember that Rick was trying to keep Carl at a distance when they greeted the past episode, so he is well aware of the threat.

The infected are isolated and Rick was taking the point of did not have the right to Carol.

Bit too far connecting Carol to the Gov as well.

Thought this was the best episode of the season. Really enjoyed the Rick-Carol stuff and I think he made the right call there. It wasn't up to Carol to make that decision and just off a couple of people. That was very Shane/Governor-esque in my opinion.

This season still feels off to me. Can't put my finger on what it is.

I thought Season 2 was outstanding. The Shane storyline was terrific. The zombie massacre. Sofia walking out of the barn. Dale getting killed. Rick and Shane's final confrontation. The walkers destroying the farm. Michonne. The prison. So many iconic moments.

This isn't the first time I've seen Shane and the Governor compared, but really what decisions did Shane make that were wrong? Sure, he thought about killing Rick. I mean, I would have too. Rick repeatedly makes bonehead decisions - going back for Merle, giving away half the guns and ammo, searching for Sophia interminably, bringing the kid back to the farm. However, Shane didn't actually try to kill Rick even though his buddy kept making stupid decisions. Plus, apparently the only time Rick was a good leader happened between seasons 2 and 3, when he more or less seemed to become Shane.

I think many of the things Shane wanted to do were the right thing but like Andrea told him, he had a presentation problem.

That said, I think Shane's biggest flaw was his decision making was self-centered. It revolved entirely around his own best interests. He would've killed everyone in the group if it meant he, Lori and Carl survived. Rick's biggest strength was (until this season) putting the bigger picture ahead of his own self interests. That also was his biggest flaw (and one of the things that makes him such a great character in my opinion); Rick is the superior leader because he's willing to put his own interests behind the needs of others. To quote a famous Vulcan, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. Shane would never accept that way of thinking.

To those who have read the comics: is this show still on script? My understanding is that the show did generally follow the comics the first few seasons. I'm also assuming the comics are quite good. Accordingly, I'm wondering whether this show is going so far off the rails we are experiencing the results of subpar writing.

Frankly, if the entire group eventually dies and the show goes on, I'm gonna lose interest. Be like killing Walter White off in season 4 on the show switching to the California guys.

Yeah, I kept thinking to myself "how the hell did these two survive this long?"

And they some how survived all this time, including 2 days locked in a washroom with a zombie just outside the door. Said zombie somehow managed to not hear a peep from them the whole time, not even the fap-fap-fap from the occasional handy that he surely received, but can't last a few hours with Rick around.

I've watched this show from the beginning, but am not enjoying this season at all thus far. Episode 1 was weak, and this one was right down there with my least favorite episodes. It's interesting to see the comment son here from the different camps, but for me the show has gone in a bad direction. It remains on the PVR schedule but the end is looming.

When exactly did Rick put the big picture ahead of his own self interest? He prioritizes both his sense of honor and his family ahead of the group. He brings the wounded kid to the farm, not because he's thinking big picture, but because he doesn't want the kid's death on his conscience. He risks everyone looking for Sophia because HE lost her.

I think from the moment he went back to Atlanta to get Merle he's tried to do the right thing and that often meant putting his own self interests to the background. That wasn't always smart but ultimately that's the guy I'd want driving the bus, not the self-centered guy who's trying to kill me and f' my wife.

To those who have read the comics: is this show still on script? My understanding is that the show did generally follow the comics the first few seasons. I'm also assuming the comics are quite good. There are six characters I see surviving - Rick, Carl, Daryl, Michonne, Glenn, Maggie and Carol (since she's off by herself). If you're not one of them all I can say is good luck making it through the season.

By not being in the comics, there's no incentive to kill Daryl to stay true to the comics especially when he's the show's most popular character.

We know we're waiting around for the Governor to the show up. The governor was handled better in the comic book because there was never much of a break in the fighting with him. I would rather he died at the end of last season and they wrote a new antagonist for the group this season.
