Van scene is just another, "F You Idiots" from the writers.

You get the view from inside the van and can see the shadow of it as its about to land on its top.

Quick cut and we're back to the old serial cliff jumpers where the good guys land safely after jumping off the cliff with a simple barrel roll.

darrels fires are all in the present and serve a purpose. carols fires are all in the past. Darrel is trying to get her into the present, then there's the additional dialogue about them not being "ash" yet. She's stuck in the past

The van scene.. yeesh. But I liked the episode enough. I liked the look back into Carol's journey from the time Rick exiled her.

My thoughts on what happened with Darryl/Carol:

-They run into young Will Smith. He tells them about Hospital/How cops only want weak people who are not a threat

-Darryl/Carol decide to split up. Darryl will take young Will Smith back to Church and then come back with reinforcements, Carol will pose as weak woman to get picked up by Cops. Carol will help Beth on the inside. Darryl will

bring Rick and cavalry from the outside.

-Hospital cops are dead meat.
Pretty close. Carol didn't exactly pose as a weak woman. She posed as a deer in headlights.

Have to agree about the van scene being a bit much. Also, I thought the scene with the kid stealing Carol and Daryl's weapons was a bit telegraphed. I didn't know exactly what was going to happen, but it sure seemed like something was as Carol slid the gun through the door.

Overall, I enjoyed the episode and have thoroughly enjoyed this season.

Agreed on the van scene. There also should have been a lot more falling zombies.

What do you mean by telegraphed? Are you talking about seeing Noah following them in the parking garage? They showed him in the garage and then again through the bridge windows (harder to see that time), so there had to be a "meeting" at some point. When they squeezed through the door to go into the building, I assumed Noah would be there on the way out. If he was watching, he would have seen that those doors were the perfect time. I am not sure I would call it telegraphed/bad writing (i.e. let's go have sex in the woods with serial killers roaming around). If someone is following them, that was the perfect spot to trap them coming back. I had no issues with that setup at all, in fact, it would have been worse if Noah didn't do it then.

Definitely made sense. I think Noah was the only one Daryl would hold back. Carol or Beth would be instantly noticed by Rick's crew, but Noah might get shot at if they didn't see Daryl first.

Noah had to live, not just for Beth but for our folks to get to their next place. Noah already mentioned in passing a place with walls to Beth and there is no way that was a throwaway line. Now that we don't have to go to DC, we can go there, although it is probably somewhere around there since Noah is from Richmond. In terms of how people went to Atlanta for the camps/military, the next military/camp place for Richmond is likely the DC area. Lots of FBI/Military complexes in and around the city.

Well, we did learn one thing about zombies last night. They don't do well with zippers.
They can tear down fences...but a simple tent or sleeping bag can hold them in place for a year.

I think we've found the most effective way to combat the zombie apocalypse.

Gotta love 100 zombies closing in on the bridge and you can't check the van before they surround you...all so we could have that lame @zz van fall scene.

Even better is the zombies that can spot Carol and Daryl in a car in the dark...but the guard can't from just 20-30 feet away.

I would have been very mad if no zombies had fallen off the bridge

The van scene reminded me of every Dukes of Hazzard General Lee jumping scene...

Car flying through the air, nose coming down first, you'd actually see the front end crumple on impact, tires blowing out..

Cut to next scene .. Bo and Luke are screaming away... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW

That's probably the best way to describe this show..."The Zombies of Hazzard".

I wonder...If "The Dukes of Hazzard" were a new show...would we have a 300+ page discussion of it on this board?

"Oh man...did you see how Bo and Luke destroyed the outhouse sihtter with dynamite?!!!1!"

"So unrealistic...that much dynamite that close would've killed them both."

"Maybe it was old dynamite...it hasn't been stored properly so it's lost some of its potency...ever thought of that? These writers are geniuses and I really like how they've fleshed out this new Enos character."

And COME ON!! How many country music stars travel through Hazzard County?? Seriously...

Also when they got the robot sheriff I am almost positive that was a guy in a robot costume and not a real robot.

This episode is going to get a lot of negative posting this week. Better prepare for the onslaught.

Interesting use of the 7. Reminds me a bit of Agcaoili's comeback series of the late 80s. Not quite sure I agree with the pacing of your remote outriggers but it isn't a deal-breaker.

Nice to see a solid non-Solar/Lunar onslaught in the FFA again.

:lmao:
My wife and I went camping 4-5 years ago and I got smashed and had a struggle getting out of the tent in the middle of the night to take a piss.

This tent had semi-circle windows on all sides, so I just stumbled from side to side unzipping windows and trying to step through only to be foiled by a screen window. The urge was getting stronger and stronger and I was moaning and yelling with frustration. Finally I hit the right zipper combo and got out of there.

Wife said that zombie was exactly what I was like in there.

I figured you'd get a kick out of it. I actually learned that from you.

Really the tent? The tent is the problem with this episode. You can't walk 10 feet in Atlanta with being attacked by a bum but now 6 millions zombies are all hiding in tents around the city. Also apparently zombie have problems with parking garage ramps as well.

It'd be better if Waylon Jennings commented as they paused it midair to go to commercial with something like "Wonder if them zombies like their humans raw...or mashed?"

I don't understand the zombies in tents/sleeping bags. They died of natural causes? They were all chilling in there and someone sprayed the corridor with a machine gun? I don't get it.

They speculated on TD, but I don't think we were given an answer for this.

I liked the episode.

Fan of Carol (character and actor) and it was nice to see the back/fill-in story for her. also nice to see her continue to reconcile the angst over what she's done- both being the victim and making victims.

Of course it was filled with typical shenanigans like the van flipping, directing the scene with Noah where Carol and camera look the other way as she climbs through the door (like a bad, bad 80s horror movie), Carol getting run over (oops, silent car), etc, etc.

I'm less interested in seeing the smash and grab they'll have to do to get her out.

speaking of... how many post zombie societies have Rick and pals laid waste to? you get these dystopic, but functioning groups and the 'heroes' come marching in and completely #### their world up.

:goodposting: If I see one more MIS-use of the Chevallian Gambit around here I'm going to go nuts. The classic Lunar is still the only way to go in this setup imo.

I gave the first Onslaught post a like.

We're 3 deep now, let it go imo. Its enough.

Lets talk about how that garbage truck Daryl stole managed to have good gas in it?

Pretty convenient truck find. Should be able to load everyone up and pour out of there like a SWAT team.

I did like that they actually had a car run out of gas on them.

I'm wondering if they'll have Carol in the hospital long enough for her to be shacked up with a dude and abused again and if she'll bite his face off.

looked like circles of blood on at least one of the bags- implying getting shot or stabbed repeatedly.
:goodposting:

My daughter and I both thought we saw gun shots but no Head shots..

I want to see a zombie bumbling along in a zorb.

Z-Nation will probably do it next week imo (already done baby zombie, zombies on fire, zombinado, zombnami, radioactive zombies).

Yeah that didn't make much sense.

Oh, hey, I'm dying of dehydration and starvation. But I'm not leaving this ####### tent or getting out of my sleeping bag!

I get your point but I think that you're paying to much attention to the cause-effect queues. Not that big of a deal but when it comes to stuff like Jiu/Evans/Planck it really does help if you take a more holistic approach. Carry on.

I definitely agree with you on this one. I was hoping that Darryl and the Mrs would get out of the van and then have to evade the falling zombies so they wouldn't land on Darryl/the Mrs.
