***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (1 Viewer)

So, is Eugene a zombie? He was breathing like one.

What is the lesbian not supposed to look at? (Glen told her walking out of the meadow)

Where does fake cop think he is going to get to?

Cliffhanger will be... that Rick and the lady cop know each other. She's been using a fake name so when they see each other, it will be a reunion of sorts.
I just want to know how/why that one telephone pole took out three people.
Don't think Eugene is a zombie but that was a ridiculous way to wake up. He groaned a bit to make us freak but he then snarled out a "help" or something.

I think she's not supposed to look at the wall of zombies...we still gotta wait for that reveal. This scene must've been a large full page panel in the comics for them to keep building it up.

Fake cop...trying to get back to his peeps, right? Really can't stand the way he escapes...just another moment of the writers writing to a plot point/trigger and ignoring anything natural.

Yet another "ninja zombie" in the woods almost gets the preacher. Amazing how these things can get right on top of you. Preacher is such a lame @zz unbelievable character who makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever...but I guess he'll get us to whatever plot point eventually.

Convenient freaking light pole taking out so many people with absolutely no sign of why it fell.

Thankfully Dawn gave Beth the keys when she did...makes perfect sense. Can someone explain that to me? She doesn't trust the doc...ok...so why not just hang onto them yourself? I know...I'll give them to this chick who has killed and tried to escape already. Only thing that makes sense is Dawn is now onboard with Beth getting Carol healthy and getting them out of there.

Another good episode. Enjoyed it.

Now let me list my complaints like a ####### ### #####.

nah, I actually like the show.

______________________________

Seems the group that just stone cold slaughtered some canibals got soft again all of a sudden.

I don't know who is hotter, Maggie or Rosita?? I need to try em both to find out.

Really I dont see why this needs to turn into all out war. Beth, who cleans up with a mop all day, and Carol who is about to die.............and they can't just pretty much ask for them back?

Prediction................paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain

The van scene reminded me of every Dukes of Hazzard General Lee jumping scene...

Car flying through the air, nose coming down first, you'd actually see the front end crumple on impact, tires blowing out..

Cut to next scene .. Bo and Luke are screaming away... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW
It'd be better if Waylon Jennings commented as they paused it midair to go to commercial with something like "Wonder if them zombies like their humans raw...or mashed?"
:lmao:

Especially with that group, you could offer them some shiny baubles and food and they would take that trade in a heartbeat.

I don't know what Dawn's plan is, but I think it's motivated by her and the rest of the A.P.D. knowing she's about to get overthrown as superior, like the superior before her (Hanson).

My thoughts too. Dawn's group didn't want people around taking up resources, so why would she care if Carol and Beth were reunited with their group?

Been a big fan for a long time, but this feels like we're rehashing old territory. Bad group abducts one or more members of good group. Good group goes on rescue mission.

Maybe apologists isn't the right term...but for years now there's been a contingent in this thread that will "explain away" every dumb thing...instead of just saying, "Yea...that's pretty stupid."

Of late, those explanations have finally started to shed away and more are now admit, "this is just a zombie show...what do you want?"
Its much worse to point out inconsistencies in a zombie show than it is to try and explain them.
It doesn't matter what a show is about. There's good writing and bad writing. TWD has way too much of the latter.
I think it's a highly entertaining show and I'm a big fan. That doesn't mean there's not a lot of lazy writing and WTF moments littered throughout the entire run of the series. Read the article above, the guy's take is pretty spot-on.
100% balls on accurate.
pretty sure we have this verbatim conversation every couple of months.

Can't say the errors or inconsistencies in the writing affect my enjoyment of the show. I see them but they rarely bother me.
:goodposting: Every show has some bad writing here and there.. Heck even Breaking bad had some of those moments ( Ducks incoming shows ;) )

But in the end I feel my hour was well spent watching TWD regardless of any  moments.. If the show inconsistency and "bad writing" moments are enough to cause you to not like the show I'm sure there are other things to do.

No.. You'd be breathing like that too if you had your nose smashed in and feel to the ground face first..

Glen told them to not look towards the area where all the Zombies are gathered as DC is a lost cause so no need to look that way..

Fake cop is heading back to the hospital to warn the others of Rick's plans..

Could see the deal with sasha at the end coming from a mile away but otherwise thought this was a good setup episode for next wk
agreed.

maybe I'm just becoming more aware and less interested, but every week seems like they're trying to outdo themselves with zombies. raod-top zombie-cakes.. whatever.

wtf is the priest doing? he sees the group as evil and having corrupted his church, so off he goes? hopefully all the zombies have accepted jesus as their lord and savior, or else there'll be some skull crackin' soon.

"interesting" that sometimes stepping on a twig in the middle of a forest will lure a zombie hoard, but shooting repeated gun shots in city streets (supposedly swarming with zombies) doesn't.

I'm starting to lose a *little* interest in the repeated rival group holding somebody prisoner scenario.... but I still enjoy the overall show.

speaking of post-apocalyptic shows...

Anybody watching The 100? it's got a terrible teen-romance bs angle, but that part (Gossip Girl?.. never watched that) is mixed with a lot of BSG (a bunch of the same actors and effects) and a little Mad Max (minus the cars... I guess gasoline might actually have a shelf-life after all). It's terrible and I love it.

Why is Abraham just kneeling there meditating? What's going through his mind?
He is "Lost" now that he has no mission.. As he told Maggie, he thought he wanted her to kill him, but then decided he didn't want to die so now he needs a reason to live and is contemplating that as he stares off to no where.

At least that is how I took it

he still gets to bang Rosita.. not a bad deal in that world..

After watching what the priest did I think he was trying to find the "Balls" to kill, even if they are walkers.. but in the end, when he saw the cross, he still couldn't bring himself to do it.

Just my :2cents:

I took it the exact same- wasn't terribly subtle, IMO.

The frustrating thing is that the show could be much better by cleaning up the sloppy writing without taking anything away in terms of entertainment. The show could easily be great....

hmmm- I didn't think that at all... but considering he's just wandering off into the wilderness- without the machete, IIRC- he has to figure he's going to run into zombies, so maybe you're right.

I get why this type of episode was necessary to set up for the midseason finale, but it was far and away my least favorite of the season.

 for next week

He definitely left without the machete. I don't know why he's leaving the church but how about this..

We start the episode with the group fortifying the church and end with the priest basically opening up a backdoor in. Might come in to play?

of course.

but IMO, that would be a stretch in zombie-verse to have them hear the sounds in the church, crawl under it and climb back in. but the writers. so maybe.

I don't see these zombies being capable, and don't know how a human would find the hole.. should be fun to see how the show uses this backdoor against Michonne/Carl.

Was wondering the same thing. Like, three dudes were climbing the same pole and it went down?

It amazes me that anyone could be so trusting of a prisoner so soon after meeting him and why in the hell would she care that the cop's friend's zombie is out there? And why is the cop so intent on escaping? Isn't it going to be a little tough to defend yourself with your arms tied behind your back?

I also don't understand why the cops in the hospital would give a damn about Beth and Carol. They would be willing to trade them for just about anything of value.

There was a heck of a lot going on with last night's episode with plenty of opportunities for action but instead we get to watch water being filtered and fish being caught.

I still like the show but damn it could be so much better.

This is where I am.

As I have said I am pot committed.

I'm at the point where I tune in and am half paying attention.

For me, It's not as bad as final seasons of Dexter where I found myself FF through scenes....not yet

the way I look at it is you are going to have 2-3 awesome episodes a season and the other 5-7 episodes will be more subdued. Otherwise the series would over the top cartoonish.

Breaking Bad was same way, not every episode was a) believable or b) awesome. But overall it was a great TV series.

See, it's a bit of a catch-22. There are people who complain when the show doesn't adequately address basic survival issues. For example, someone was complaining that there wasn't enough screen time dedicated to the importance of antibiotics, even though the issue dominated at least two major plot movements. The filtering water and finding food scenes address the "where the hell are they getting clean water and food from when they're one the move?!?" critics. But having those scenes lead to complaints about covering the seemingly mundane at the expense of action sequences and plot movement.

I kind of like throwing a bone towards the survival aspect or rolling it into the plot where possible.

I prefer this to endless piercing of skulls with chopsticks.

Put me in with the group happy that they could show a moment of happiness just for seeing the possibility of catching and eating a fish.

It's all for the symbolism...the writers had a "neato" name for the episode so once again they sacrifice normal behavior to suit that need. So we have an episode of religious iconography all episode long. Guys continually on their knees, preacher nailing his foot in the most awkward, ignorant and impossible way, mentions of the cross, defiling the church, water, fish, etc.

Maybe...I think preacher finds Morgan.

That must have been hella strong glass to knock Sasha unconscious.
You're gonna have two or three people explain to you how it's special reinforced glass. Like the simple pane of glass that kept that horde at bay earlier in this season or how the church windows are all intact with the premise there were live people outside trying to get in and someone taking time to scratch on the walls a sentence complete with apostrophe's...rather than take a simple rock to the damn window or burn it down with him inside.

Good job.

All good catches

I wish i watched as closely or cared to look for that stuff.

Don't forget...they "fixed" the problem of skulls squishing like week old grapes with Carl's explanation that sometimes you really gotta give it a stabbing to get through...just so a moment later we could have the awesome eyeball poking, head bashing scene with Daryl. Otherwise it would've been like smashing a guy upside the head with an egg.

I'm horrible at symbolism/metaphors and all that stuff so thanks for the hand holding everyone.

The fires in episode 6, the religous stuff last episode.. :whoosh: in and out while waiting for the next fight.

Fun show with borderline laughable adherence to physics and common sense. Not sure why we can't leave it at that.
