***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

So I wonder if Rick and company win the battle (which based on prior seasons is a definite) will they now set up shop in the hospital?

Also once again I was pretty wasted last night but what was the deal with the big zombie herd with abes group and why were they just hanging out there?
The are just standing there because the firetruck died and Eugene was still laying there unconscious after his beating from Abraham. The herd is just a blocker put in the way of the group so they will turn back and rejoin Rick and the rest of the crew. Gives them no real other option on where to go, now that the DC "mission" is over.
thanks, why didnt they just load eugene and leave and what is the source of the zombie herd?

I need to either re-watch sober and watch it the first time not as drunk, but lets be honest if you watch this sober you probably will just turn it off 10 minutes into it

firetruck is not dead. Maggie was afraid to move Eugune until he regained consciousness.

the show is written badly enough without you mooks making it worse by not actually watching it.

well it delved into the next episode, in which case many here get a little cranky if Spoiler isn't put on something that hasn't happened.. heck many here do thier best to avoid previews all week so as to not be "spoiled" ;)
fair enough and good point -- not sure how much googling fans of the show actually do... i would assume quite a bit given how much people re-hash every minute part of the show :o

Something tells me there might be a  death here at the midpoint break.. Just seems "time"...
Candidates:

Carol

Darryl

Beth

II agree, I think someone is going to die
It's gonna happen.

And with Reedus reacting like this, I'm betting it's Beth. No way they kill Daryl or Carol off.
edited to avoid potential whining
If that is a preview spoiler, I appreciate you
the title of the article for that link is....

TV Guide Reveals Spoilers on the Mid-Season Finale..
So um.. yea.. Be careful what you click on ;)
 whoops

about the Daryl spoilerish interview

I'm sitting here wondering why Daryl would be crying out all his tears so as not to cry on screen and it hit me. Dead people don't cry on screen. :tinfoilhat:

true, but...

it also says: The tragic events will push Daryl into new emotional territory. “He’s one of those characters where they keep dangling a carrot in front of him and he keeps reaching for it,” Reedus says, “but the carrot falls in the mud right befoe he’s about to get it.” Hard to push someone who's dead into "new emotional territory". I say it's Beth. Which sucks cuz I like her.

I just find it odd an actor would want to suppress emotion?

I appreciate the spoiler tags...I may bag on the show...but I definitely try to avoid Talking Dead, previews and online stuff in regards to it besides this thread.

Darryl has a very masculine image with the fan base. His character is pretty stoic. I would think he'd want to be a bit subdued and not bawling his eyes out on camera

I don't know you guys...I think this is one of the best shows I've ever seen...might even be better than Breaking Bad...definitely better than The Wire.

It amazes me that anyone could be so trusting of a prisoner so soon after meeting him and why in the hell would she care that the cop's friend's zombie is out there? And why is the cop so intent on escaping? Isn't it going to be a little tough to defend yourself with your arms tied behind your back?

I also don't understand why the cops in the hospital would give a damn about Beth and Carol. They would be willing to trade them for just about anything of value.

There was a heck of a lot going on with last night's episode with plenty of opportunities for action but instead we get to watch water being filtered and fish being caught.

I still like the show but damn it could be so much better.
If every episode was intense action it wouldnt have lasted one full season, everyone would be dead.

Fun show with borderline laughable adherence to physics and common sense. Not sure why we can't leave it at that.
Agreed. Then again, probably a ton of OCD folks on this forum. It reminds me of that Howard Stern movie where they talked about his ratings when they wanted to fire him from one station and they mentioned that he had the highest length of listeners and that his detractors actually listened longer than his fans. That may have been Hollywood enhanced, but I am sure there is some truth to it. Look at tdoss, he is the one posting about all the symbolism on the show, yet he hates it and thinks it is trash.
Not sure I said I hate it.I can't stand how a fan boy like yourself will defend it tooth and nail. You're finally coming around and losing the argument that this is in fact a poorly written and sometimes acted show. You're last defense is to pimp it's ratings...hell, American Idol used to top the ratings also...does that make it tv royalty?

There's nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious and yes, I definitely threw that "apologist" shot across the bow at your @zz in specific for saying, "tdoss is the worst".

The show is still fun and has a couple of my favorite subjects: zombies and post apocalyptic survival...but don't come in here defending it's every move like it can do no wrong. I love Game of Thrones but I can still admit and even point out that it made no sense to end a season with the White Walkers at the gates and then spend the next season without ever having to deal with that damn white walker horde at said gates.

I do not watch the show more than once...never saw a rerun or care for the marathons because I've already "lived that experience". If it was a solid as Breaking Bad or The Wire...I could see revisiting it but this show...no need

I'd rather you just admit your emperor wears no clothes or maybe stop being so offended when some of us point out flaws as if we said your baby was an ugly little troll...but most of all, I'd appreciate if you kept my name out ya mouth and do not engage me specifically without expecting me to come back at you for it and pointing at your little ugly troll baby.
Maybe you should just become a writer and finally create the PERFECT show.....................or just shut up and stop sounding like the biggest nerd/loser alive

geez, the guy even tried to give them all a hint with the "there are no real cops any more..." line. there is no more honor in this world! stupid hot Sasha.

and where is Pastor Carver shuffling off to? I'm sure he doesn't have a plan or anything.

Maggie is hot. super hot. if I was Abe, I know what my next mission would be: orange mustache ride.

LOL, time to take your meds. Ok, I won't "engage" you again, wouldn't want you doing something crazy. I don't have an emperor, you completely misunderstood my post. Your vitriol for the show is a lot different than us apologists just enjoying what in our lives is a good TV show. Keep on enjoying the show, I know I will.

Sasha falling for dude hitting her in the back of the head was also ridiculous.
So brutal. 100 ways you could have the guy escape. Why do it like that??
It was way too obvious. Like the van, definitely could have been done better. To be honest, they made him look good when he was being nice to Noah. Seemed like they did that to try and make it more of a surprise, but the corny story made it too obvious.

Yes it was obvious... but she has joined Tyreese in the "Any way but Violence" shtick.. After this I have a feeling both her and Tyresse will drop the "Oh poor me, be nice, find peaceful ways to handle things" and start kicking some A##..

At least I hope that is where the writers are going with this story line.

The midseason finale could redeem the season, I think it will. We could get Morgan, find out what the preacher's doing, Eugene/Abe stuff and which direction they'll go, and the hospital stuff. Should be a 2 hour show.

And I was kinda hoping to see Noah actually come out of the woods and see him meet Rick.

I enjoyed the episode for the most part, loved Darryl's eye gouge zombie scene, but some of it, like the Abe scenes, are just painful to watch. The dialogue and directing are like network TV level at times.

agreed....The show is going great and they throw in some WTF moments like this and the van scene that if they took more time to make them more plausible would elevate the status of the overall show tremendously....

It's like somebody serving you a perfectly aged/seasoned.cooked steak dinner and then throwing a tiny dollop of dollar-store ketchup in the middle. You're just like "WTF? Why would you do that?"

because WD writers.

The whole- suspension of disbelief thing- that the writers fail on in WD... again for the gabillionth time- I enjoy laughing at, but also enjoy the rest of the post-apocalyptic distopia they've set up. The overall story line being set in a fantastical world can absorb some ridiculousness, IMO, and I enjoy the basic premise.

I know we all love Breaking Bad- but I found that show almost as ridiculous with the eye-rolling scenarios their writers continuously set up on a micro and macro level to drive the plot. The overall writing was much, much better- which excused a lot of it, as was a lot of the acting. But for me, because the overall story line is set in the real world, those scenarios were even sillier and cringe-worthy. I still loved Breaking Bad, just as I still enjoy (not love) Walking Dead.

Season 5 just finished filming Saturday. We saw on the Talking Dead that Sasha is now 8 months pregnant. Will she continue this physical demanding role in that state?

If she does, will the character be pregnant in the second half of the season? Or will they try to hide it?

Seems like a good time to kill her off...

maybe Sasha dies because of Tyreese being a #####.. making Tyreese change his ways and turn into a bad ### killing machine?

If he can handle the episode with the girls, maybe this is enough to put him over the edge- but I doubt it.

That would make a lot of fans happy.

I don't have a huge problem with Tyreese being a big softy though. This group is mostly bad ### killing machines at this point. Somebody has to balance that out a bit.

Don't know the answer, but remember for us non-readers Tyreese doesn't have that reputation. We're just waiting to see if the Tyreese who flipped out one time when surrounded by a mob of zombies a season or two back will ever come back, and when.

Tyrese is ALWAYS getting surrounded by a pack of zombies- left to die- and then somehow fights his way out of it. Always = every season, or at least twice. :nerd:
