Totally agree. The number of guns doesn't matter. They just need one.  Put a bullet in Negan and its over.

Even if every man, woman and child at Alexandria, The hilltop, the Kingdom and Oceanside has an AR15, I don't see how they're organizing and executing any sort of frontal assault against the Saviors. Hell, we don't even know the full size of Negan's force. We know there's other outposts and Negan's army is hardened and vicious.

I know some people are sort of down on Negan, but his storyline fascinates me. In his little corner of the world, he's basically a god. But for all we know, there's a group of 5,000 ex-military living at Fort Bragg that could eat his group for lunch if they ever ventured too close. That's part of why I'd really like to see a Negan origins episode.   How did he get to this point? Does he know his limitations or does he truly think he's invincible?
Well my guess is that Eugene making explosives is going to play a big role.

That should be a whole episode. Life from Eugene's point of view.

Episode opens with Eugene waking & placing cassette tape into player. "Shoulda Known Better" by Richard Marx hits the speakers with a savage fury.

Montage of Eugene begins as Richard Marx rocks our nuts off. Highlights include:

• Eugene eating cache of Pop Tarts as meal staple.

• Eugene brushing his hair, Marcia Brady style.

• Eugene staring blankly at someone in Alexandria who's actually being productive.

• Eugene finding cache of 80s cassette tapes in a closet somewhere (score!)

• Eugene making bullets while eating pop tarts.

• Eugene staring blankly at a different person in Alexandria who's actually being productive.

• Eugene stepping back while admiring the 10,000 or so bullets he somehow made during the montage.

(montage song stops playing when  Eugene hits "stop" button on tape deck.)

• Eugene gets ready to bed down for the night. Ambient sound only. Walks over to tape deck & hits play. "Endless Summer Nights" begins playing softly from speakers as he closes his eyes for the night.

Montage ends. Cue opening theme.

The only reason for devoting so much time for Oceanside, I would think, is to highlight the fact they: 1. have a ton of guns and 2. Negan does not know where said guns are as of now.

If there is going to be a rebellion at some point, it could not happen without an arsenal, and Oceanside now establishes there is a hidden cache of guns somewhere.  Of course, only Tara knows this right now, but you'd have to think the amount of weaponry they have will come into play at some point.

I don't know how all this is going to come together, but they are setting something up.  You have Jesus and Carl heading to find Negan, Dwight starting to show doubts and possibly teaming up with Darryl, Maggie and Sasha possibly coming into power at the Hilltop, the Kingdom wanting revenge and poisoning the food supply, some Alexandrians still pissed off and wanting to fight back, and a hidden community with a huge stash of weapons and a bone to pick.

All that being said, we did not need an hour of Tara, even with her Mom boobs :)
You are totally right, especially your last point.

The entire episode wasn't pointless, it was just overly drawn out and boring. The same thing could've been accomplished with 15 minutes.

What happened to shows bouncing between stories, like GoT or any other half decent show?

Rick makes $90,000 per episode.  The top 5 characters in Game of Thrones all top $500,000 per.
How is that possible?  TWD is the highest rated show on tv and should be making mad bank from its advertisers.  Stupid network sitcom stars (like Kevin James for example) make many multiples of that on way less rated shows.

Rick dun goofed in TWD and in real life negotiations it appears.

Well. There are 50% more TWD episodes than Game of Thrones.

Also, TWD is a #### show and Game of Thrones is excellent. So there's that.

Network TV and HBO >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AMC even with all the prestige it may have with shows like Mad Men and Breaking Bad in its past stable.

It took seven seasons to get around to the all women men hating compound?  It only took Z Nation 11 episodes.

You guys really liked Tara before she gained 200 pounds while out scavenging for food for two weeks.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones seemed to drag on with too many subplots.

But it did eventually come together nicely.

I am hoping for the same here.

Can happen to a lot of shows, especially ones with large casts trying to accommodate a lot of storylines at the same time. The key is to tighten the screws which is what I hope Gimple is going to start doing with the mid-season finale fast approaching. I don't think we need to introduce more communities. I think we need to begin to condense the storylines and focus the storylines into one primary story moving forward. And like I said before I think we need the primary group to start having some victories. I think a lot of fans want to see them winning more vs. Negan, especially Rick and Daryl. It's not a lot of fun watching strong characters you like/love being so downtrodden all the time. I can appreciate the reasons why it's happened and I think it had to happen based on the events of last season's finale this season's premier but at some point soon both of those characters need to regain the strength they've always had and rise up. An entire season of Rick being Negan's little ##### and Daryl being ####ified isn't going to go over well at all.

Said it earlier.  The #1 show on TV plots their season out to limit the # of episodes their top actors are in to cut costs.

We have 2 episodes left and other then the first episode did Rick factor in?

I've been watching the show since the beginning I don't know the girl's name from this episode.  Imagine 80% dont.

The guy that plays Negan was on Howard Stern and said that they do alternate takes with Negan constantly using the f-bomb like in the comics. Will they have 2 versions available when they put it out on DVD? It would be interesting to hear the alternate version.

You forgot about the zombie::

  • Eugene reaches for tapes, a zombie with glam metal hair and an electric guitar around its neck shambles out from behind a beaded curtain. Eugene looks scared and accepts his fate....zombie suddenly stops as the cord from the guitar is still plugged into the amp.  Eugene scurries away as the zombie pulls its own head off.  Six episodes later, said zombie ends up killing someone when they step on the still alive head and Eugene hates himself for not being able to kill it when he saw it.

Keith Richards?

I saw an interview he did on Rich Eisen's show and he said this as well.  He said the uncensored version is for the DVD release. I dont know if that means there will be 2 versions or only the more colorful language version

After watching good behavior on TNT. I've become convinced that moving TWD to the 10pm est time slot would be best.. Basic cable after 10pm est is NOT  your parents cable

There will be two versions. In one version, Rick dies.

Pretty sure it was the same day he was on the Jim and Sam show which is in the old O&A slot. They had Gary Bussey in there as well and it was a train wreck. A funny train wreck but a train wreck. Gary Bussey is one messed up dude. Listening the next day it sounds like Negan went from being mad to just enjoying the ride more then once during the interview.

so i figured out one thing that i hate about the show. i'm a comic reader as well, and it is insane how much they feel they need to "dumb down" the show from friggin' comic books. i mean they are literally beating us over the head that there is friction between Dwight and Negan. really no need to shove it down our throat every chance they get. same with trying 40 different ways to show Negan is a bad guy. Reminds me of the 1st season of Sons of Anarchy when the club had to fight white supremacists and child molesters all the time

This has turned into the worst show EVER! Kid is pointing a gun at negan & oh he gets tackled after shooting everyone but negan. It was more realistic with zombies

it's funny this is another 90 minute episode. granted this one has enough content to warrant it, but they could have cut both this episode and the other 90-minute one (might have been the hilltop episode) and erased that episode from last week by giving us the 10 minutes of content it delivered.

i think it is so frustrating because this show could be so much better, but it is like AMC and the producers are that inept and don't know how

I think I have it figured out.

The primary actors were about to hold the show hostage for exorbitant amounts of money. So the producers killed off a couple of them and wrote the others out of the story.

It's all about the money.

I liked that episode a lot but it's hard for me to justify nobody killing Negan when he seems pretty ####ty to his men.
the comics tell the tale much better. i think this is the producer and directors doing this overkill to such a degree that it is obvious to anyone and everyone, but by doing this they miss some of the nuances which make the story and character better

Carl is a #####. Take the shot kid.

Dwight's wife is smoking hot, no way she married Dwight. He's a grade A #####. Hopefully Darryl will kill him and take his wife.

Rick and the gay guy, what's the plan? Guess they'll build a raft.

Michonne, soon to be dead. Nice plan.

Rosita, I want to see you in a bikini with an Uzi. That would be must see TV. An entire 90 minute episode would do it.

Negan, I don't think you move your upper body enough. You need to work on that, also more head movement.

I just hope Rick figures out how to kill this mother ####er ASAP so I don't have to suffer through another 10 episodes of the saviors. God they suck

260 riveting minutes to tell us that negan is a mean meanie and also that there are caches of weapons out there. thanks.

Lol coral. I'm here to kill negan! kinda sorta maybe. but I'll definitely take out some other people instead.

Compared to the last few weeks this was a much better episode as they put together multiple stories into one episode.

Thinking the guy in the Tree is also responsible for the Raft of supplies surrounded by "swimming" zombies.. Anyone that would go through that trouble, seems to be in line with writing in Latin a cache of supplies..

Might be just me, but I'm thinking the Spencer character is about done..  the comment from Gabriel  "It doesn't have to be Terminal" seems foreshadowing to something coming up.   Thinking he will finally attempt to take out Rick and maybe Carl takes him out??

Seemed Daryl saw Jesus on the roof of the truck as it was leaving the Sanctuary.. It was strange to not see him still there as they drove off.. Guessing he climbed in through the vent of the roof?

This show would have lasted maybe 3 season if all you "writers" were in charge as any antagonist would be shot on site.. ;)

I hope next week's winter finale is a deep dive into Negan's life showing us how he is a ruthless leader and how he is a mean boss to his people, albeit with a bit of sarcasm and sense of humor.  So far he's been difficult to read.

Or he jumped off.

Yea, but there were others around the truck, including Dwight.. so if he jumps off you have to think someone would have seen him.. then again, I guess he could have "rolled off" the drivers side and hid among the Zombies..

IMO... Would be better then having him return to Alexandria... With Daryl getting a "Go Now" note with a key, would be fun to have Jesus, Daryl and Dwight combine efforts to take advantage of Negan being gone from the Sanctuary.. Heck.. Maybe they join up with Michonne also

Have a feeling that will be in the 2nd half... too many "loose ends" to tie up in a 90 minute episode next week..

Daryl "escaped" .. Where's Jesus... The retrieval of supplies by Rick & Aaron will need to be shown and How will Rick deal with seeing Negan in town holding the baby and Carl without his Eye Patch.. Will Spencer try to take out Rick...  Will Rosita use her one bullet to try and take out Negan.. What happens with Michonne now that she headed to the Sanctuary and Negan isn't there...

With all of that to go through, guessing any back story of Negan will have to wait

Not sure what to make of this episode. I really liked the structure of the episode - Featuring numerous members of the cast in mini story arcs. No idea why this hasn't been happening the entire season. I really liked this a lot. From what I understand the Negan-Carl stuff was almost entirely taken from the comics so I'm guessing the comic fans enjoyed all of that quite a bit. I really liked Michonne's plan although it sucks that when she gets to the Sanctuary Negan won't be there for her to confront him. But if we're lucky maybe she'll kill Dwight. I know he's supposed to be a big deal in the comics but I can't stand that guy so I'd love to see someone, anyone, take him out. Yeah we get it, Negan's banging his ex-wife and he's all mopey about it. Except when he's around Rosita. Then he's a major league ahole again.

Kinda fuzzy on what Rick and Aaron found is going to factor into the big storyline.

Overall I wasn't really wowed by the episode, though. I just feel like this season had so much potential and it hasn't been realized yet. Still time for it to happen but feels like all buildup and no payoff other than the premier.

So why did the guy randomly start running into the woods where he found the bobber on the deer stand? That seemed out of place but maybe I missed something
