Also, Rick's already dead IMHO based on the last shot of the episode. They can make "magic" and have him get off the concrete and lead the zombies to the bridge where it washes out and the zombie herd is no longer an issue.

That said, based on the ending, there is no chance he gets away. The walkers were 20 feet from him in both directions and he wasn't moving. Obviously, most of the previews were dreams, but he could still make it out and "save" everyone in his last hurrah, but that would kind of be BS based on the last shot they showed.

Personally, I'd much rather see the herd just decimate them and get them on the run again.

I can buy that Rick is dead as the camera panned straight up.  I don't remember the first episode, but he rode the horse at the beginning of his journey and it saved him (I think) during that time frame.  Only fitting that a horse takes part in his death at the end of his journey.  Next week may be a tribute to Rick Grimes as he lays there dying as the walkers descend on him.  Dream sequence and all. 

Of course they can always make "magic" as stbugs says above.

It’s about 650 miles from Alexandria to Atlanta.  Just rub some dirt on that impalement wound and he’ll be fine.   I wouldn’t put it past the writers.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I cannot fathom anyone who has watched this show especially the last episodes and think they are anywhere close to good.  Basically unwatchable but my ####### still wants to see how this all ends

I liked how Rick and Darryl fight. I liked Michonne going night time ninja. I liked Maggie wanting revenge. I liked the scene with the garbage lady and priest. I liked the horse bucking off Rick.  Was way more interesting than most of last year's dreck

Saying that... they showed Maggie looking at all the dead zombies alongside the road with what looked like Ricks hachet.. My complete guess..

she shows up just in time to save him, takes him to Alexandria where in his dying breath he begs Maggie to keep Carl's wish and leave Negan alive.. whether she honors that or not........

Is it just me, or did they purposely keep Neegan in the shadows with the beard and short hair in an attempt to make him look like Rick? Some sort of symbolism thing.

Exactly. The horse was also content with just standing there when the original group of walkers was closing in on it, before Rick jumped on.

Apparently the zombie on the cart is added at the request of the people in the helicopter as part of the requirement for her to deliver an A.  She had Negan tied down with a weird zombie on the cart last season.  They mentioned this on the talk show but I hope they explain it more on the show.   When she thought he was a B it seemed like she wasn't going to have to tie him down with the walker.  But she asked Gabe to help her do something first before they could go. I imagine help her find/grab an A so they could get on the chopper.  Then she pistol-whipped him.  Not sure why she pushed the walker into his face.  Seems odd to kill him if the people want their A.

Eh.  I rolled my eyes a lot in this episode which is usually a good indicator of how good I think an episode was.  It wasn't terrible and certainly not great.  It was alright for me.

Rick and Daryl fighting was expected and was fine until they rolled into a random pit.  That was a huge eye roll moment for me.  Rick falling off the horse and being impaled was also a bit of an eye roll moment for me.

I don't see how Rick's death is going to be anything but bad tv.  

1. They telegraphed it weeks in advance, telling us which episode it would happen in, so no element of surprise. 
2. The episode before leaves him in a dire situation, with a life-threatening wound, so now if he dies in any way other than eaten on that slab with rebar through his gut it's going to be another Glenn-dumpster unbelieveable situation. 
3.  There's no point in another "plot armor" situation next episode if we know he's going to die at the end of it anyway.  If Daryl/Maggie/helicopter/Jesus himself show up in the nick of time to lay down fire and save him, it's pointless because we all know he's gone at the end anyway.  
4.  The logical conclusion is that this whole next episode takes place as a dream sequence within the 30 seconds from the camera panning up at the end of last episode, to when the herds converge on him and have Rick tartar.  So much of this series has been bad, do they really expect that dream flashbacks are going to somehow be good?  
5.  The whole "everything that's happened since he woke up the hospital in S01E01 has been a dream" scenario is still in play, although I don't see how the overall show would continue if that happened.  Rick wakes up, oh it was just a dream, so now this turns into a buddy cop show with Rick and Shane?  
6.  Actually, a buddy cop show with Shane may be the only thing that saves this after all...

the pit. oof. felt and looked like a scene from gillligan's island... and a throw-away scene, at that- not one that they cared enough about to think about or make look decent.

and if only that horse was capable of going off-road to avoid the zombies on the road. but I guess he didn't put the knobby horse-shoes on. and too true about the horse being completely fine until it needs to be spooked, and then completely fine again. 

thought the writing was too goofy the entire episode- too Rick preachy, proclamtion after proclamation instead of actual dialogue...knowing these were among his last scenes. even the actors all looked like they were in tears every scene with him. 

and stupid way to die, in the bigger scheme of the show. would've preferred a ninja zombie got him. even better- ninja coral zombie... I mean, we never actually saw coral's body- maybe he messed up killing himself. 

I liked michonne's groundhog day. 

yet another batch of infighting... ugh... tired of it 5 seasons ago.

at this point, the only thing I'm interested in is seeing what happens with the helicopter. different rules of fuel, I guess.  and why would they want a zombie on a helicopter? not like there aren't an endless supply of them to be had.

This is probably what will happen, although it is completely a dumpster dive magic act to believe that Rick can wake up, hoist his body off that rebar, and get on the horse and escape within 30 seconds

completely agree. I'm not saying it makes sense anywhere outside of that TWD writers' room, where they gave up trying to go for "sense" a long time ago.

if that's the direction, that's how you end the show, not drop a midseason thing about it.
