***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

hmmm.. I actually thought it was a good episode...
The scene of Lydia about to get killed had a few moments of..
Negan being a protector and understanding immediately, after accidentally killing Margo, the meaning behind "No good deed goes unpunished".
Lydia telling Daryl her mom was right in that the communities put on great masks to be polite and nice, but the minute they get scared they pick a target, point and shoot.

Judith being a Bad bleep Walker killer was fun to watch.. Michone gave her the "most impressive young one" look.
Huh I thought it was really boring.  That whole Lydia getting picked on like she was in middle school by a bunch of people I've never seen was pretty terrible I thought.  And those actors are so bad.   I will agree the negan scenes were pretty good, everything else was weird/boring imo including Zeke trying to get on Michone.

I was impressed with their ability to jam 8 minutes of action in to a 60 minute show.

So Carol is now irrelevant hermit woman. Daryl is a politician. Michonne is, well, I don't know, a psychologist for dudes with horrible hair? Iranian doc is doing bad mushrooms and tripping? Other than the little mini-me samurai girl, there isn't a character left I care about. I'm hanging by a thread.

Dog

Although not sure he’s had any screen time this season

ehh, disagree. as a whole the episode writing is still worse then any other show i can think of. the lead up and attempt to start a relationship with Michonne and Ezekiel was horrendous. 1st half hour was really just a waste of film. agreed the only value was the scene of Lydia getting beat up at 28:00 minutes

They need to unleash negan on the whisperers
they turned him into a bit of a P, needs to get away from all of them. they tried too many times to boost other characters by using Neegan and they seem to do it too often

They need Rick and the chopper to come back.
Would not be suprised to see a 10 second season ending "cliffhanger" showing something rick related

And then have him do a 1 minute cameo of some sort in week 9 next season
Has there been any Rick related stuff since he flew off? It's implied he's still alive, right? But just hates his stupid ******* daughter, so won't bother coming back for her.

that was the best one I've seen in awhile. If they can do it right (which they won't) the neagan story line for the last few shows here should be interesting at least.  I am assuming next week will be zero Neagan/Lucille unfortunately.

Negan with whisperers should be interesting.

We'll probably get an hour more of the lesbian couple's saga next week, though.  Why miss 1 is upset at miss 2.  What is their end game, what does each of them want out of the relationship?  Maybe they'll end the season with that cliffhanger.

:goodposting: .. Many "Zombie kill of the week" (Thanks ZombieLand)  moments..

Wondered how they'd kill off Ezekiel, will be interesting if he goes out with a life death, or sacrifice himself to save someone as a last move..

Keep Neegan, start killing everyone.   I still watch this, don't know why, but there is usually something else on in background.

Only characters left that I pay attention too when on screen:

Darrell

Eugene

Neegan

Michonne

Judith Grimes

Alpha and and Ryan Hurst from Remember the Titans,

This show is really bad with some insane plot holes.

The bald lady may be the worst villain to date.  Even worse then the trash lady.

I stopped watching a little after rick died or left.  Sounds like i haven’t missed a ton?
From what I gather (granted I speed through like 2-3 at a time not really paying that much attention) there are so many just insane plot holes, terrible dialogue, cramming dumb characters down our throat and stupid plots that just make this show borderline unwatchable.  With so much good tv now I am probably going to cut ties but keep in my dvr and check in here every so often.

I am not sure how you can eff up a show about zombies so bad but man did they ever.

I really don't get watching a show you absolutely hate.. I have so little free time, I certainly wouldn't waste my time on something I don't like..
Thought the first season of "How to get away with Murder" was pretty good, but the 2nd season went WAY off the rails and I "Cut the cord" and haven't missed it..
Same with "Fear the Walking dead".. Gave up after season 1, returned when Morgan flipped, found it as bad as before and "Cut the cord".

In all seriousness.. If this week's episode didn't cut it for you then it is time for you to "cut the cord".. Unless you have nothing better to do with your time, then carry on

I blaze through a show on my lunch break when my time is kindof pushed.  I was a big fan in the early going and now just want to see where this is going.  No biggie.  But you are absolutely kidding yourself if you think this is good.   The bad dialogue, just insanely bad choices the people make and the overall campiness is just too much to overlook.  Add in the egregious plot holes this show is maddening.  But yeah I probably will try and find a different show to eat lunch to.

Overall the past couple seasons have not been good, and I've been one to certainly criticize when needed...

But I thought this last episode was right up there with some of the best episodes in the last few years, and just feel that if it was still "Horrible" for others then it is best to walk away.

Crappy TV and B movies provide a different type of entertainment.  Can't miss this trainwreck when a lot of the good stuff hasn't started or just started for the fall TV season.

Apparently no one can put together that slicing walkers so they gut out in the river will poison the water.. so now the town gets sick and, well no idea why..

Filler episode to get to the last 2 before the break...
A war between the Whispers and the communities has been building all season, so have to think something goes down to start that war for when they return.

Pretty well known that Negan is playing the Whispers. Will be interesting if they go the same route as the comics, or find a different way to start the war. And if that happens the next episode, or the "mid-season" finale".
So, woman on the radio is either from the community that took Rick, or the community that Maggie has disappeared with. Seems to early to be bringing in the Community just yet where Rick was taken to.
Guessing it is Maggie, as they are working to bring her character back in. Having Eugene starting a conversation now with someone from there would setup the return.

Yeah....so why wouldn't Aaron go and tell everyone about the whisperers poisoning the water? He saw them doing it when he gave that woman the gauze for her hand.

More brilliant writing from that bunch of geniuses over there....

Not going to lie, I love the Negan vs. Whisperers interactions.  "Cool your #### Jolly Green Giant"  :lmao:   The other half of the show is sappy soap opera drama.

How does the Negan-Whisperer thing happen in the comics?

The best line IMHO was asking if it was a "Beta with benefits" type relationship.

As the article linked below states "No idea if the show will follow this or not but......"

Negan/Whispers and the Comics

Awesome.  I'm hooked now.

It will be interesting to see where they go with Negan.  He's my favorite character after last night and that's saying a lot for the show if they can transform him from villain to hero to fan favorite.  After everything he's done.  That's saying something about the show and writers despite all the faults.

I'm like 3 episodes behind. Can someone please help me out and let me know there's a light at the end of the tunnel for me?

[/spoiler] Do they finally end my torture and kill off the stupid "Alpha" broad?

Not yet, but it seems to be building towards that. And the comic spoiler article above also leads in that direction so one can surmise.

I thought it was pretty good.  I thought he was creepy for a few episodes now and wondered where he came from.  Don't remember them introducing him, he just showed up looking at patients in Alexandria.

As soon as he came in the room at the end of the episode I told my wife that he's about to kill Saddik.  Scene was too sinister to just apologize.  I was a little surprised that he was the guy in the barn that forced Saddik to watch the be-headings, but thought immediately that he was probably a plant by the whisperers.  They're always watching... and all that.

Yea, it certainly wrapped up the reasoning behind the water getting poisoned even with Eugene's purification.. Answered my question of "why didn't they put 2 and 2 together on the Whispers poisoning the water.
Not to mention the prisoner getting an "accidental" dose of poison.

Carol needs to get hers one of these days. Constantly going against the groups wishes, then using the girl for her own needs.
Be nice if Gamma and Lydia join forces to take out Alpha or Beta. Maybe with Negan's help..

Hopefully the MidSeason Finale sets up a battle for the spring return, and doesn't give us one of the   cliff hanger, ala Glenn and the Dumpster dive.

I thought it was dreadfully boring. But I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad they finally killed off Doctor PTSD. That  was item one on my Christmas list.

How does the daughter not  recognize the fake doctor?
Answers are out there.. Aka... the preview for next week has Alpha telling him that since her daughter has never seen him, he is the perfect person to go. Not to mention, we still have no idea how many Whisper's there are, and with them wearing masks 90% of the time it would be difficult to recognize all.

Thank goodness like every other idiotic decision the PTSD decided not to tell anyone about the poison water before he got killed hours later. Glad he’s gone. You’d think after all the years on the run (Carl found him) that he’d be a big more desensitized to violence. Not to say you don’t feel but in that life you’ve already lost dozens of close friends and family.

Yep, had that thought too. Or, maybe hide the fact your recognize the dude a little better and then just go tell everyone, hey, that dude is a spy. Like I said, a well earned death.

watched the latest Mr. Robot episode then this pile of 🙂. I mean has a show ever played the "someone is getting attacked! oh, just a bad dream" trope as many times as these deadbeat writers? i mean they literally seem to pull it 15 times a season. the writers just seem to be worse then most other shows i can think of

So if Neegan is not involved in this Sunday's mid-season finale, they will literally drag out an entire season next Spring over like 2-3 comics. A story line that is maybe 2-3 episodes they will milk for every single penny they can

It’s gone so far downhill no check ins after mid season finale.

I’ll just say this:  Granted Carol has been one of my least favorite characters for years, but she is now pretty much the Gilligan of the zombie apocalypse.

Below average finale, mid-season or not.  They seemed to spend too much time on the new guy from the island. So Michonne is going to his island to bring back some key weapon that can kill a herd?  Gatling gun... couple of rocket launchers?  And the group can keep in touch with her via walkie-talkie with her being 2 days journey away?  Is that right?  And his group is just going to let Michonne take their weapons?  Really?

Rosita has lost her fighting edge because she is a mother now?  Seems it would be the opposite when motherly protective instincts kick in.

Following Carol into a rabbit hole, one after another seems like a pretty solid idea.  What could go wrong?

Best scene was the first with Rosita, baby, the guy and a zombie Saddik.  Went downhill from there.
