***OFFICIAL*** Titans @ Steelers Game Thread (2 Viewers)

Did they finally get rid of that stupid horse trailer? Or did I just block it out due to my years of practice and therapy?

Without madden I dont think it would be the same..... I sure did miss madden's stupid comments tonight, they were good for a laugh

Good game tonight. Few things that stood out.

Both teams were a little rusty, too many penalties

Both D's are for real

Tennesse out played Pitt in the first half

Hines Ward made a veteran mistake and is too emotional. Respect him as a player but he looked like he was going to cry after he fumbled. No joke. I thought tears were going to start streaming down his cheecks on the sideline.

Holmes picked up right where he left off last post season

Heath Miller is the ideal TE (catching and blocking)

Ledale White may not get 100 carries this season

You forgot one of the biggest things. Pitt's run game looks terrible (yes, I know Tenn's run defense is incredibly stout). But more importantly, M. Moore was out on the field for the entire OT when it counted. That's a significant development in week 1.

The downside of avoiding injuries at all costs in the preseason. That, and fatigue/cramps being a huge factor in tonight's game.By the way, LenDale's carries probably go down, but the Titans never got into the ball control, play with the lead mode that they were in for most of last season, nor did they get close to the goal line on offense. So it's too early to say for sure LenDale won't be a factor. Smaller role I could see as CJ is no longer a rookie and everything went right for him last year, but less than 100 carries is gong too far I believe.

More likely a function of the no huddle/spread/3rd down type offense and not a statement. But given how the OL appears to operate much better when passing and how a no huddle can weaken a pass rush, that may happen a lot more than expected. One way or another, Moore figures to have a larger role than expected.

Big ben going to throw 40 times every game??
Yeah becasue Ben would have 10 seconds to throw every game
If every game involves an awful running game, Steelers tied or trailing for all but one minute of the game, and overtime, then yes or close to it.Ben only had 25 pass attempts through the first three quarters, then 7 on the tying FG drive, 4 on the Ward fumble drive, and 7 on the OT GW drive.

Your Ward note is laughable. Guy was sick to his stomach that he might have cost his team the game. Clutched up in OT, but was still pissed at himself for the bonehead play..Too emotional? you've got to be kidding me.

He's a Pats fan, you should expect hate from him, Ward has always played with his heart on his sleeve, that what makes him the HOF caliber player he is.

Totally understandable for some to rip him for the fumble. Lots of people rips lots of players when they make a crucial mistake.Pretty strange for someone to rip someone for caring too much in this day of the 8 figure contracts.Whatever.

Those of us who drafted the Steelers D are praying Troy's OK. Man, he's a beast when healthy - have never seen him close as fast as he did in the first. Just saw the replay - ouch - didn't look good. Out for the game, and that looked freakin' serious. Please don't be season ending..
My brother in law is a doctor, his immediate call when seeing it was an MCL sprain. Just an opinion, please don't ask about credentials, etc...obviously will know more soon.
Good call. Tomlin says MCL sprain, 3-6 weeks.

 Other teams wish they had a player that cared about his team and about winning as much as Ward does on every single play that he is in.

Heath Miller is the ideal TE (catching and blocking)

he made jaws say redonculous - stellar on many plays

Ledale White DOES NOT DESERVE carries this season

eat a towel
Steeler passing game seems to have some weapons

I thought Titans DBs looked tired and Steelers took advantage of it. They sure didn't look like a secondary with 3 pro bowl DBs on the last two drives. Some were awesome throws and catches and Steelers deserve plenty of credit.

Points wise, the Titans should have won. You can't miss two FGs in a grudge match like that. The other side is, Steelers moved the ball well and possibly could have scored a TD at the end vs. a FG.

I thought first half slight edge to Titans. Much of second half very even. End and OT, Steelers far better.

Titans really didn't miss Haynesworth much-good good sign for Titans fans. Shut down the run, got to Big Ben, the DL did their job. Yeah pressure at the end stunk but so did the rest of the Titans D.

I disagree with comment above. I thought CJ struggled a bunch on some short yardage "up the gut" runs and Fisher will give Lendale some more of those again starting next week. Fisher isn't one to not use a strength of his team and Lendale behind that line in short yardage surely is a strength.

Steelers stunk at covering the TE. Scaife's injury(and Cook out) was a big deal.

Britt looked lost at times and more inexperienced or maybe it's unpolished than I expected. He fought through that and did well and that's impressive.

Holmes looks better, more confident. That third round rookie WR looks real good. I haven't been half as impressed as everyone else with Sweed. I wonder if he'll do better than Sweed.

Ben is very very good with the pumps fakes but there were times I felt like enough already.

A W is a W but they didn't look impressive.
They pretty much looked exactly like last year when facing Baltimore- against a great defense, the offense struggles, but Big Ben gets it done when it counts.
Did everyone miss that the Titans were 13-2 last year in regular season games that mattered? They basically gave away their playoff game with turnovers or would have hosted the AFCC.
and I believe the Titans are the only team to returns more starters from last year than the Steelers. Great smashmouth game.

I understand.... Just can't remember the last time I saw a player almost in tears on the sideline. Maybe it was just the interview from a couple of years ago with him whaling in tears that was fresh in my mind. Either way I like Ward I just have never seen a player teary eyed on the sideline because of a fumble and think he is too emotional.

I guess you didn't read where I mentioned I had respect for Ward. I don't hate anyone, just thought it was odd that his eyes were watering up on the sideline. Never seen it before and maybe it was just because I've seen him cry in the past. Being to emtional isn't a bad thing, just commenting on what I observed.
