This man served with my grandfather in WW2. If he's alive, I want to talk to him.

Any advice on how to track him down or see if he's even alive?

Hello My Friends,

I will be happy to communicate with anyone that was in the battle for Hill 260, I w as with Co B 57th Combat Engineers, we were called to the perimeter when the Japanese struck, I have noticed a tree stump still standing, it was a large tree in the way of the Banyan tree observation platform the stump was about 15 feet high, I was stationedon the perimeter, and when the callcame that the men on 260 was out of ammo, and with Co G men covering for us we carried supplies t the men on top, I am proud to have served with Co G andthe 182nd Regiment of the Americal Div .

I found out from an official source that an American Veteran from the 57th with the same name lives in Stewarts Point, CA.
