That's Dodd's rankings. Bloom has Henry/Young splitting until further notice. Really is a reflection of the uncertainty.Fanball's Take.FBG currently has Selvin Young ranked at #8 RB this week. so someone here dont think Henry is playing this week
Broncos: Henry sits10/04/07 10:37 AMTHE NEWSBroncos running back Travis Henry did not practice on Wednesday, and head coach Mike Shanahan didn't have much to say about his status. "He's sore," Shanahan tells the Rocky Mountain News. "We'll see how he is as we go through the week." The coach did say that the MRI's on Henry's sprained right ankle and sore right knee came back negative. Our ViewHenry is a pretty tough guy and already bounced back quickly from injuries twice this season. But we'll have to see how he progresses this week and Friday's practice will be a good indicator. Selvin Young is the primary backup.
Yeah, there are about 10 pages combined on that. I find it difficult to believe since the article linked in post #2 states that he was walking with a less of a limp than he was after the Indy game.I heard a rumor that the injury is much worse than they revealing.
Oops, my bad, but what I posted is a synopsis of the Henry situation from that article posted in Rotoworld.Johnnie, I think that is from the same article linked in post #2.
after reading this, I hope they just sit Henry out this week. I have Young so it won't matter to me at all. There is a bye week next week and Henry getting 2 full weeks off will only help him long term. And Mike Bell doesn't know if he can go so it's one less back that Shanny could screw us withAnyone with me on this?
If he misses tomorrow, I'd say there's better than a 80% chance he doesn't play Sunday. The Broncos will probably play it smart and not play Henry until week 7 since they have a bye in week 6.Thursday update from KFFL:Broncos | Henry misses practice, a game-time decisionThu, 4 Oct 2007 13:33:43 -0700Bill Williamson, of The Denver Post, reports Denver Broncos RB Travis Henry (knee, ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 4. Henry will be a game-time decision for Week 5.
I agree, If he dont practice tomorrow, Im sitting him anyway, the 4:00 start screws me in one league anywaySD is pretty good at stoping the run still and with the bye it shouldnt hurt that much if he comes back in week 7.after reading this, I hope they just sit Henry out this week. That's kind of the general NFL deal isn't it? Don't practice on Friday == very unlikely to play on Sunday. The other thing, that BSS touched on is that this isn't exactly a fun match up for the Ponys' running backs anyway. Henry out might be doing you a favor indirectly by forcing you to start someone with a better match up. This is how I see it playing out & I think it would be for the best.. Then he would have roughly 3 weeks to rest...If he misses tomorrow, I'd say there's better than a 80% chance he doesn't play Sunday. SD isn't good against the run anymoreI agree, If he dont practice tomorrow, Im sitting him anyway, the 4:00 start screws me in one league anywaySD is pretty good at stoping the run still and with the bye it shouldnt hurt that much if he comes back in week 7.after reading this, I hope they just sit Henry out this week. Actually they are still very good against the run. It's one of the few things that's still working for the Chargers.SD isn't good against the run anymore
They've been hit or miss against the run. They shut down the Bears in Week 1 (a respectable accomplishment) and the Packers in Week 3 (hardly cause for praise given how pathetic Green Bay's running attack is) but the Patriots ran all over them in Week 2 and LJ put up a huge number on them last week - although much of his yardage came late. And given how good the Broncos are in terms of running the ball, I see no reason to fear the matchup. Perhaps it's the Chargers' run defense that should be downgraded given what it will be facing as opposed to the other way around. I think the Broncos put up some very good numbers running the ball. They will likely have to run a lot if Walker sits because the Broncos' passing game has been non-existent without him.Actually they are still very good against the run. I think a lot of this also depends on Denvers D. If San Diego gets it together, and is able to quickly put up some points, Denver will have to abandon the run a little bit. If Denver keep LT/Gates and jackson under control, they should have good field position for some TD's and they can run the ball and control the clock. They've been hit or miss against the run. This conflicts with everything else that says he's a game-time decision. I don't know what to beleive anymore. To further muddy the injury situation. Will Carroll reports the following today.
It doesn't look as if Javon Walker will be back this week. The Broncos are hoping the knee calms down, but even if he plays, he looks to be limited enough that you should consider your options. ... The news is better for Travis Henry. His ankle sprain was mild and he'll get the start on Sunday. ...

Readers of Baseball Prospectus know Carroll from his Under the Knife columns, where he discusses baseball injuries. I will admit that I have not read his previous columns closely, so I don't know how accurate his information has been this year.
That quote actually came in week 2-- as in, old news. This poster might not have the latest info. Just an FYI.Since Travis has been missing practice, has Young been getting all the first-team snaps?I got this from the bronco fansite discussion board.

Walker is doubtful for sunday and rumor does have it that he'll be out for at least 5 more weeks...![]()
Travis is probable for sunday and is just being held out of practice to get more rest to heal the bumps and bruises from the load he carried sunday.

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan says he plans to use Selvin Young to spell Travis Henry going forward to keep Henry fresh.
Young, Henry's clear backup, had a 40-yard run in Week 2. "I can see him as a starter," Shanahan said. "He is a starter in this league." Young was also targeted twice deep as a receiver, as Denver wants to keep Young involved.

News: According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Broncos RB Travis Henry missed practice Wednesday with his injured right leg that forced him out of Denver's Week 4 game with Indianapolis. Coach Mike Shanahan said he didn’t know whether Henry would practice Thursday. “You’re always hoping but we won’t know until tomorrow,” Shanahan said. His MRI on Monday showed no damage to his knee or ankle.

Exqueeze me, but given the recent events, and saying Denver needs this game badly, so he probably starts, is very relevent to the original post. Just because you like to slam a lot of my posts, is no reason to be a jerk.Mods...please delete garbage like this as the op didn't want his thread muddy up.JohnnyU said:As a Young owner in 4 leagues and a Henry owner in none, I would be very surprised if Henry didn't start this weekend. Please point to the update or real news in your post...all I see is info about your roster and your personal speculation with no supporting links/news about him starting and maybe potentially aggravating an injury.I thought I would create a thread where only updates regarding Henry are posted, so readers don't have to wade through the crap to get to some real Henry news.
I've stated my opinion in this thread as others have. We already know the news about Henry, so I would think that some personal opinions are now welcome. It's when the thread goes in the direction not related to Henry and /or his situation that I have a problem with. "Updates" can carry this thread only so far, but we also don't need the rambling that was done in the other Henry threads. Yes, I did mention owning Young....yada...yada...yada..., but I also offered what I think the results of the recent events would do for Young later this season. Sorry for mentioning about my ownership of Young.[Please point to the update or real news in your post...all I see is info about your roster and your personal speculation with no supporting links/news about him starting and maybe potentially aggravating an injury.

I will not post in this thread unless it's a Henry update. Sorry, I went against my own post. I expect everyone to do the same, lol. What do you expect a teammate to say? "Yes, he's a dope head and should be suspended?" He's being a good teammate. Nothing wrong with that, but take it with a gain of salt.http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7300136?MSNHPHMA
From the mouth of Javon Walker:
Walker stuck up for Henry on Friday and cautioned about reading too much into the situation.
"Nobody really knows the extent of it," Walker said. "We all trust Travis. Everybody on this team supports Travis. It's funny how a lot of things get blown out of proportion before everybody really knows what happens. He'll be with us the whole year. We're going to try to finish this thing strong."
Walker thought Henry would be vindicated in the end.
"We already know what the situation is," Walker said. "That will get put out at a later day and everybody will understand."
Interesting...

John Clayton and Adam Shefter have both said Henry will play. Shefter is money when it comes to Broncos' info.Overall good job keeping this all about the news.I suspect TOMORROW will be the real test - how his knee held up afer a day of practice will determine if the team decides to play him Sunday. That said, this is the same guy who played 10 games on a broken leg. Practicing three days before a game is usually an indication that the player has at least a 50-50 chance to go.
Sounds like a desperate individual to me. It's like, "It's going to come out that I'm banging your daughter, but we are really in love".Henry showed up at Shanahan's house unannounced on Wednesday night. He knew the story was going to break, and he wanted to talk to the coach privately. They talked for about 30 minutes, but Coach Shanahan couldn't elaborate on what they talked about. The Sportsguys (950's morning show) had an interview scheduled with Coach this morning, and he divulged this information.
