I am actually surprised at how many cowbells I am hearing. I hope that Miss State fans didn't ruin their Christmas to drive down to this crap.

Not the worst game ever. It came down to helping my wife clean or hearing her nag and lay on the couch - I chose the latter and these Miami Ohio kids are making me semi-happy about my choice.

 
Am I the only person watching this game? Not just here, but on Earth...

Why not kick the 39 yard field goal there? Up by 1 right now.

Syracuse football’s ‘Quest for Gasparilla’ is on

For those curious about the lengthy name, it’s actually a two-parter. Bad Boy Mowers sells expensive residential and commercial lawnmowers (obviously). Why they’re bad or boys, however, we’ll never know (Pleasant Woman Mowers was taken?). The second bit, Gasparilla, actually takes its roots from the annual Gasparilla Pirate Festival in Tampa, Fla. — which, no, is not St. Petersburg.

Gasparilla derives from mythical Spanish pirate Jose Gaspar (Gasparilla). Tampa’s been celebrating him since 1904, which is just a few years after the first written records of his existence at all. So yeah, he may not have existed. This is him, per Wikipedia:

Now has done Syracuse “Quest” for this literal pirate treasure? We’d have to hope that all the ACC bowl tie-ins are full, and then get sent down to St. Pete as a replacement for some C-USA team. This seems plausible on all fronts.

The Orange have their work cut out for them when it comes to making the postseason this year. But if we do, we’re REALLY hoping that the program is sent to this wondrous game that brings out the best and worst of college football all at once.

DD had a Beef's Parade FB page. Bruno Mars (?) was going to perform at halftime & I posted several celebrity photos of them eating hot dogs as "endorsements" of the fun at the parade. 

Oh, and trolling poor Ashley the social media head for the Beefs Bowl. I think she's a raging alcoholic living in a Tampa trailer park.

We're going to have some exciting C-USA vs. AAC action, baby!!

I'm going to assume UCF beats Memphis and secures a NYD bid. That would leave Memphis, Navy, USF, and Houston.

I would have to think the North Texas - Florida Atlantic winner would get the bid. Other contenders would be Southern Miss, UAB, Marshall and FIU.

Can. Not. Wait.

 
Florida State trying to get into this game according to McMurphy

Florida State is pushing to get into the Gasparilla Bowl in St. Petersburg. The Seminoles technically would have to be bypassed by every ACC bowl to be available for a non-ACC bowl. But I’m told FSU is lobbying to play in St. Pete. If FSU is not successful getting to St. Pete, the Seminoles would probably end up in the Independence Bowl. If FSU gets to St. Pete, it’s unknown if they would play the American rep (USF) or C-USA rep (FAU). This one could get interesting.

Wow. Willie Taggart vs USF in St. Pete.

They might have to open 2nd concession stand.
