***OFFICIAL VIKINGS 2010 OFFSEASON THREAD*** (1 Viewer)

I'd like to see us upgrade at Safety for sure, either thru the draft or free agency, as well as draft the future starting QB.

I think we need to get another SLB/MLB type in case EJ isn't ready to play in September as well as provide come competition for Jasper. I wouldn't mind if Ben moves to the inside providing we can find someone to take over his SLB spot.

Also areas to consider, back-up RB, since it looks like Chester will draw a lot of attention and leave, a C-OG type for depth, yet ANOTHER pass rushing DE, (never can have enough of them), and probably another CB to challenge Asher for playing time since our starting CB's might be both hurting (out). I guess more DT depth in case the Williams' will get suspended. Pat is getting up there in age so will Kennedy be the replacement answer?

I see a lot of trouble bouncing back at D next year.

Pat is possibly looking to retire. With the injury to Griffin and the uncertainty of Winfield's recovery from the injury compounded with his age means we could be looking at having some turnover at CB. E.J. broke his leg viciously, so that's a big question mark at MLB, though Brinkley proved he could make plays, he'll have to grow up a lot this offseason if he has to continue to fill in for E.J. Let's all hope for a solid recovery for E.J. for his own sake, of course.

That's a lot of key players on D, and we can only sign FA's if we lose 1 first thanks to our placement in the playoffs. It will be difficult to make up these losses if the injuries linger into the season.

And then on offense, we're waiting on whether or not Favre retires to see how the QB position plays out. I don't care, it was still a smart decision to bring if Favre for this season. There's going to be speculation about trading for yet another Vet QB in McNabb while the question of Favre's retirement lingers, but I agree with the critics who say that won't be a possibility by the time we get a decision from Favre. Ideally (and theoretically) a trade for McNabb would have to happen before the draft, and I think we'll be waiting longer than that for Favre's decision, naturally. So that's one option we probably won't have should Favre decide to sit down at long last. (I wonder if the Colts SB loss tells him it's o.k. to bow out, given that Manning doesn't have a greater # of rings than him at the moment. I imagine he might feel a bit more like competing with the guy if he were still strongly trying to stay out ahead of him in all categories.)

Peterson: Fumbles. Has to end. Has. To. Ugh. :hifive:

O-line: Where did the run blocking go? McKinnie is a fool. :nerd:

WRs:

With a much tougher schedule next year, on top of the Packers defensive turnaround and the difficulty the Vikes will have from bouncing back from tough injuries and the question marks at QB again tells me the Vikes have their work cut out for them through the draft / trading and FA to keep treading water. I don't feel optimistic yet, but that could change with another solid draft and hearing some hopeful stuff about our younger guys stepping up.

SKOL VIKINGS!

Not wanting to pressure him...but at the same time do they give Brett and Pat the power push of we will do whatever we can (limited in FA though with no CBA) to try and make a big run this year?

Ive said it in other threads...makes a lot of sense for them at those 2 positions given the possible lockout in 2011 that would give both Favre and Williams an easier decision to retire then.

All your offseason consists of, is the Jeopardy theme playing in the background as Favre takes you on a ride of lies and and false assumptions all spring long!

as an official Viking hater, this is my observation

QB - Farve is going to kill you all winter/spring/summer. My suggestion - give him a pass till the 2nd preseason game. He will show up then and you won't have to piss around with all this will he or wont he. He just doesnt want to do the practice, nor does he need it.

O line - Wow, you guys got killed by the aints up front.

D Back field.

Your good at QB/RB/WR/TE/Dline.
