***OFFICIAL*** Washington Commanders Thread (6 Viewers)

Terry McLaurin will not play in Week 11, will travel to Spain

Head coach Dan Quinn said at his Monday press conference that McLaurin will travel with the team to Spain, but has been ruled out of the team’s Week 11 game against the Dolphins. McLaurin returned in Week 8 after missing four games with a quad injury, but left after aggravating it and has missed the last two games. The Commanders have a bye in Week 12, so the hope is likely that McLaurin will be ready to play in the final six weeks of the regular season.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels will also be out with a dislocated left elbow and he will not be making the trip with the team later this week.

Daron Payne’s suspension was upheld on appeal

Commanders sign DL DeMarcus Walker to practice squad
The agents for DeMarcus Walker announced that their client has agreed to a deal with Washington. According to multiple reports, Walker is joining the team’s practice squad. Per those reports, Walker is in Spain with the Commanders so he could be elevated to play against the Dolphins in Madrid on Sunday. The Commanders are down a lineman after Daron Payne was suspended for one game for punching Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Walker was a Broncos second-round pick in 2017. He started 17 games for the Bears last season and had 47 tackles and 3.5 sacks for Chicago.

Commanders WR Treylon Burks underwent surgery today on his finger. It is not expected to be a long-term issue, but it is enough to knock him out for Sunday.

Terry McLaurin will begin on-field rehab work this week

Head coach Dan Quinn said that McLaurin will begin doing on-field rehab work in Madrid this week. McLaurin has missed six games with a quad injury already this season, including the last two contests. The Commanders have a bye week, so McLaurin could be back for their next game in Week 13 if all goes well.

Quinn also said that the team expects running back Chris Rodriguez to play against the Dolphins after injuring his shoulder last week. Safety Will Harris will also return to practice and open his 21-day return window from injured reserve.

Breaking down the Commanders' defensive numbers: they're ugly

  • Points Allowed 280 (31). Only the Bengals have allowed more points (300) than the Commanders in 2025.
  • Yards Allowed 3,946 (32). The Commanders are dead last here, giving up the most yards in the NFL.
  • Yards Per Play (31). The Commanders and the Bengals are tied for last, both giving up 6.4 yards per play.

Miami will try to continue their rise from the ashes this season and go for their 3rd win in the last 4 games this weekend in Germany
Joe Rose does color commentary in the local radio booth for every Miami Dolphins game going back for quite a long time now and he fully expects Miami to win
I'm just sharing the local vibe which doesn't mean a thing once the ball is up in the air

Good luck this weekend, Miami doesn't seem to want to roll over just yet but we've seen this feel good story before and suddenly the rug gets pulled out
Cheers!

The good news is . . . it can't get much worse.

3-8
"Not very good! But there was some worse 'un us. I guess that's one positive way to look at it, we weren't the worst team in the league".
Remember that?

Anyway, Matt Gay was cut, so we'll have a new worse kicker soon.

Jake Moody. Kind of sad to see the Bears lose him. He has 10 yards extra range than Santos.

It seems pretty clear that Whitt was an issuefor this defense. Not that Miami and Denver are great offenses, but much better defensive performances the last two games. I’m confident they would have both looked like top 5 offenses if Quinn hadn’t taken over. It’s nice that they are watchable again.

Looking forward to getting Daniel’s back and seeing him get back to what we hope he can be.

Agree with you on all of that. But man oh man do they have to upgrade their defensive personnel.

Dan Quinn might remain Commanders' defensive playcaller in '26

It would represent a slight change of thinking for a coach who came to Washington saying he wanted to delegate to his assistants more than he had in the past.
"I'm finding a rhythm, so I'm not sure where I'm at on that yet," Quinn said. "I haven't discussed or gone down that road too far yet. But yeah, I would say that's a possibility."

Another possibility is quarterback Jayden Daniels' return for Sunday's game at Minnesota. He remains sidelined because of a dislocated left -- and non-throwing -- elbow and has yet to be cleared for contact. Daniels hasn't played since getting hurt with 7 minutes, 39 seconds left in a 38-14 loss to Seattle in Week 9. Quinn said the team wants to gauge Daniels' "functional contact" before clearing him: contact that he uses playing the position, such as stiff-arming a defender. Quinn said he would have a better idea of Daniels' availability Friday after watching him in practice for three days. "That's the step we need to see from him," Quinn said. "It's not traditional in the sense of taking a hit." Quinn said Daniels "ripped a bunch" of passes today and that he'll work on the functional contact during practice, both in individual sessions and on the side.
