It's going to be fascinating to see how the media is able to portray him as a good guy and a team player now that he's a Patriot. It's a tall task, but I think they've got enough practice cupping Belichek's junk by now to pull it off.Fat Albert to NE for a 5th.![]()
OLB Ryan Kerrigan is at #Redskins Park to get a physical but I am being told he hadn't signed upon arriving.
I agree it's probably the stupidest Redskins trade. There are other contenders though:2nd and 6th for Jason TaylorI'd say Mike Shanahan invested a lot in McNabb and Kyle Shanahan failed to like him. It's the stupidest and most damaging trade I've seen -- trading a 2nd and 4th for a veteran QB, a known quantity, whom your offensive coordinator did not want and could not work with. Trying to paint it as McNabb's fault is just the old Vinnie-style cattiness of blaming players for front office mistakes.'southeastjerome said:Maybe I would be on board with that if McNabb was on board with wearing a wristband. Some obscure tweeter claiming that Jenkins to 'Skins is done. I'm looking for a more reputable source to confirm.

We're told that the Redskins are closing in on a deal for Cullen Jenkins. Not done yet, though.

If Cullen Jenkins signs, I think Coefield plays DE (ETA: in base 3-4).Updated with Wilson:
Code:Wilson Carricker Coefield J.Jenkins Hall Kerrigan ?????? Fletcher Orakpo Landry Atogwe
Based on his picture and having 94 in his name (@sugewhite94; possible jersey number), I'm guessing he was a player on some level at some point.Who is that guy ("Mr. Fox"), anyway?
And who at NT? PFR lists Jenkins at only 292 pounds, so I doubt it's him. They also list him as a RDE. Did he play any NT in GB?If Cullen Jenkins signs, I think Coefield plays DE (ETA: in base 3-4).Updated with Wilson:

Oops. My bad. Looks like he played DE in Green Bay's 3-4. I thought he was a NTAnd NFL.com has Jenkins @ 305, which is basically the same as Coefield. And who at NT? PFR lists Cofield as a NT in 2008, despite being in NYG's 4-3. He apparently played NT in college and, from what I've heard, lined up like a NT a lot even while in the 4-3. He took on NT duties despite being a 4-3 DT.Hopefully Nield (listed around 320) can provide some quality snaps in situations where more size is needed.Oops. My bad. I think they should give Perry Riley every chance to win the ILB gig.

Didn't Joe Gibbs 2.0 make the decision on all of those trades, aided and abetted by Vinny?I agree it's probably the stupidest Redskins trade. 3rd for TJ Duckett
4th for Trung Canidate
2nd + Bailey for Portis
And there was almost 2 firsts for OchoCinco. That would have been the winner. Vinnie tried to win this competition but amazingly he did not.
No. Gibbs was Duckett and Portis. Taylor was with Zorn and Canidate was with Spurrier. The rumored Ocho Cinco offer was also under Zorn.Didn't Joe Gibbs 2.0 make the decision on all of those trades, aided and abetted by Vinny?I agree it's probably the stupidest Redskins trade. If we are voting, I think the Jason Taylor trade was the worst. Taylor never had the right skills to fit into the Redskins defense. I would claim McNabb had a chance to work if he could learn the offense.Brandon Lloyd for a 3rd and 4th plus signing him to a huge contract should be way up there on the list. I read the 49ers front office were laughing their heads off when they completed that trade.I agree it's probably the stupidest Redskins trade. The offseason moves always look good on paper.Overall, I like what they've done the last couple days. Of course, I think I say that every offseason.![]()
Oh man, I forgot about Brandon Lloyd. 2006 was a good year, we also got Archuleta and Randle-El that year...If we are voting, I think the Jason Taylor trade was the worst. I agree that Taylor was easily the worst. The Skins panicked and overpaid for Taylor who had no business playing LDE in their scheme.I also agree that the Lloyd trade was the second worst deal.If we are voting, I think the Jason Taylor trade was the worst. @TKextremeskins TKJenkins' agent holding up the deal. Playing the "can you beat/match this" game.
sugewhite94 Mr. Fox.........@rd421 @tkextremeskins Jenkins will sign...it's his best offer
sugewhite94 Mr. Fox.........@rd421 there is not alot of talk about Dallas...it's his agent playing hardball....deal will get done......
Neild, Gomes and White have also signed, now.Someone tweeted that Kerrigan left the building, so no contract there yet. May need a few other 1st rounders to sign before exact numbers can be agreed on.Helu signed.
@AdamSchefter Adam SchefterRedskins reached agreement with former Cowboys DE Stephen Bowen on a 5-year, $27.5 million deal that includes $12.5 million in guarantees.
@ProFootbalFocus ProFootballFocus.comDamn, Redskins get Stephen Bowen as well? Redskins putting together a run of seriously nice moves
Seems like an awful lot of coin to secure Bowen.Pro Football Focus likes what Washington is doing:

That's what I thought, too, at first. But it should be significantly less than what Jenkins will pull down, and as Rich Campbell tweeted, Bowen is 3 years younger. I'm not sure it's all that horrible.Seems like an awful lot of coin to secure Bowen.Pro Football Focus likes what Washington is doing:

True, but how much more? Jenkins is a better player imo, but like you said at least Bowen is younger. Reading some rumors on twitter that the agent for Jenkins has been stringing them along, constantly bringing them offers from other teams and asking them to beat em. Finally the skins had a handshake deal with the agent, then he went out again and asked them to beat another deal and then they told him to pound sand and then signed Bowen. Again, just banter I am picking up from twitter, mostly from ES moles. At this point, Jenkins would be nice, but I don't want to break the bank. Too many other positions to address, (interior olineman, OT and CB) to pour a boatload into a DE.That's what I thought, too, at first.
