You forgot to list the most unique part to Graham signing with Buffalo, he was sitting at Redskins park when the announcement came...literally in Redskins park...OUCH x2!!!!!Probably means he got an offer from another team. This year the Redskins seem to have that Joe's Fleabag Motel look to free agents. 3-13 will do that.
By the way, they missed on Corey Graham who signed with the Buffalo Semi-Clean Motel.

Cowboys DL Anthony Spencer will visit the Redskins tomorrow. Skins have also had interest in Dallas DL Jason Hatcher
Fine with adding him in FA, but don't see the point of trading for him. He's be more of a luxury than anything.Rumors about an interest in trading for Sproles?
Spencer is an OLB/DE, where would he play? Behind Kerrigan? Doubt Spencer wants to come in cheap and be backup, cheap 1 yr deal to show teams he healthy and can play is understandable, but he'd have to start for a team to show the other teams he's still got something left in his tank. THis makes no sense to me, unless he by miracle he's transformed and can play Safety.Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora 10h

#confused #Redskins willing to trade picks for Sproles, but not spend $5-6 mill for a starting Safety when they have zero Safeties? Hmm...if this is true, my fears about the current state of affairs of our front office is more than justified and worse than I thought. We appear to be the ghost ship that is aimlessly sailing the seven seas without any at the helm. #scary #terrifiedFine with adding him in FA, but don't see the point of trading for him. I moved out the DMV about 9 years ago and have been a Sunday Ticket holder (not for FF) all that time just to watch Redskins games. It's been tuff with all the loses and spending money to see that, but been a fan since I can remember, so never thought twice about it. In an odd way, I kind of consider myself a season ticket holder in a way. I know, not really the same, but you get my point.FA and draft time is really about the only time I've managed to get excited about the skins the past several years. This year, don't even seem to have that. No notable signings happening. No first round pick. Oh well, on the bright side, lowered expectations just mean less of an emotional fall by week 3 or 4 if things go in the normal direction.
Well, JLC now reports Sproles traded to Eagles.#confused #Redskins willing to trade picks for Sproles, but not spend $5-6 mill for a starting Safety when they have zero Safeties? Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm sick to my stomach to watch the names like Byrd, Ward, Whitner, and even Malcolm Jenkins sign with other teams. We're gonna be left with Roman Harper or injured Patrick Chung and its gonna be Brandon Merriweather all over again. Even Ryan Clark is a 2-3 year fill at max.
Some people just can't be happyConsidering how stupid the skins have been in the past during The start of free agency, rushing and overpaying out if the gate, I'm surprised so many people are upset. I think the signings so far have been solid, no reaching or over paying.
Sorry to be downer, but my mood has nothing to do with Gruden or anyone in particular...just been reflective and realized that no matter who is at the wheel (had multiple different people and personalities) and the one thing that has not changed...we are flawed. LOL, someone might need to talk me from the ledge...Can we at least let the new coach/regime put the team together the way they want it before we start killing them? I'm as pessimistic a 'Skins fan as you will find but jesus fellas lets give them some time to sort things out.

That is the problem though, as losing franchise, we have to overspend or trade to get any real talent. Not go bananas crazy spending, but money is the only lure for a player to come to Redskins, unless they are from the area. Until this franchise shows real hope of putting together some winning seasons, this will be the case point blank. Value signing are great, when talent is through out the roster, but unfortunately we are not at the place and don't have that luxury.Considering how stupid the skins have been in the past during The start of free agency, rushing and overpaying out if the gate, I'm surprised so many people are upset. ...and then pan out to be the real deal and not a bundle of just potential.A healthy RG3 without a knee brace will fix a LOT of problems IMO. And after the Westbrookes, Gardners, and Howard WR busts in the draft, I think this team is due good luck at WR this year. Hoping Cooks, Lee, or Beckham falls to us.
True, but there were a lot of risks with all 3 of those picks coming into the league. I'd say the trio I mentioned is MUCH safer and far less likely to bust....and then pan out to be the real deal and not a bundle of just potential.A healthy RG3 without a knee brace will fix a LOT of problems IMO. Exactly. When is the last time going all in on free agency has built a sustainable winner? It damn sure hasn't worked for Snyder's redskins. All it has ever done is reduce the importance of the draft and mortgage the teams future. Definition of insanity, anyone?Considering how stupid the skins have been in the past during The start of free agency, rushing and overpaying out if the gate, I'm surprised so many people are upset. Fair enough and let's hope so, if one is taken. Of course, drafted WRs (other than high no brainer picks) don't usually start to bloom/help until year 3, maybe some in year 2 if they start to "get it."True, but there were a lot of risks with all 3 of those picks coming into the league. this. if i was the short leash type, as some of u r, wouldn't it make sense to give them at least one off season? Can we at least let the new coach/regime put the team together the way they want it before we start killing them? I use to live in DC and follow the team still. Some of you Skins fans need to calm down a bit, its brutal and just pathetic how some of you are acting towards a team that just began free agency and has a new regime. It appears other unsuccessful teams like the Browns and Bucs realized the only lure was money and they found a way to get FA's, it appears this front office is unprepared, have no real plan in place and hope it is not a sign of more to come. They misjudged the entire market (multiple positions). Think you nailed it on the head though...I think the Redskins seriously misjudged the market for safeties this year and were not offering what other teams were. Without talking "too much money" or "reasonable", in FA you pay what you pay each year, and each year's market defines itself as it goes along. I think they guess wrong at what their competitors would offer, and got shut out
Disagree. That is how you over pay and get caught in terrible contracts. For examples of this see: Redskins, Washington 1995-2013I think the Redskins seriously misjudged the market for safeties this year and were not offering what other teams were. Without talking "too much money" or "reasonable", in FA you pay what you pay each year, and each year's market defines itself as it goes along. http://realredskins.com/2014/03/13/redskins-still-have-cap-room-to-operate-after-opening-deals/After resigning two players and adding four since the start of free agency, the Redskins have approximately $12 million in cap space to work with. That might not sound like a lot but the Redskins can work deals to fit them in with lower salary cap numbers in the first year. For example, receiver Andre Roberts’ contract is worth $16 million. But through the use of signing bonuses and higher salaries in the third and fourth years of the deal, his first year cap hit is just $2.25 million.
And, due to the Rule of 51 (explained in this post), the addition of Roberts to the payroll subtracted a net of just about $1.75 million from the Redskins’ available cap space
It depends on who you pay. During most of those years there was nobody in the Skins front office who could evaluate talent; they just went after big names.Disagree. That is how you over pay and get caught in terrible contracts. For examples of this see: Redskins, Washington 1995-2013I think the Redskins seriously misjudged the market for safeties this year and were not offering what other teams were. No, that is when the Redskins organization were fooled (making playoffs) in thinking they were better than they were and needed to just add a major impact player. They also haven't signed a "terrible" contract for over two years, but that I'm sure was due to cap penalty holding them back. Again, when you're a perpetual losing team the only way to get or lure real FA talent is to overpay, we have nothing else going for us to bring them in. Don't have to insane with money, but unrealistic to think that overpaying will not have to occur.Disagree. That is how you over pay and get caught in terrible contracts. For examples of this see: Redskins, Washington 1995-2013I think the Redskins seriously misjudged the market for safeties this year and were not offering what other teams were. Outside of Gibbs 1.0 and a few years under George Allen, the Redskin's history is really pretty bad. As soon as Gibbs left the first time, the team fell apart and all the roster problems were exposed. Charlie Casserly was a new GM and was learning on the job. At least he was a professional.th

As a lifetime (42 years) fan of the Skins I have been joyed by Superbowls, great teams, and great coaches. But none of those have come in the last 20 years. I've stuck with them for this long for God knows what reason. I hate money grabbing, legal wrangling Dan Snyder. I don't think much of Brruce Allen but I'll give him a couple more years. Gruden I need to see in action before judging. No matter who is at the helm, you aren't going to recover from 20 years of atrociousness in 1 year or with a couple of players.
People say Dan Synder ruined this franchise. I do not think much of him, but he did not. The Redkins inability to adapt to a salary cap era ruined this franchise, and that salary cap era just happened to come around in the last few years of JKC's life. He and his GMs did a poor job with it. Their records from 1994 - 1998, when the cap first started until JKC's death, were 3-13, 6-10, 9-7, 8-7-1, and 6-10. So the pain started before Snyder.
Snyder ended up the owner, and so it was his responsibility to improve the franchise from 1998 - present. Based on any conceivable measure other than Snyder's pocketbook, he has failed. But like many fans that would take over their team, he tried for quick fixes and buying championships. So while he bought an franchise in disarray, he made it even worse. So I do blame the last 5-7 years squarely on him.
Now, everything I've said makes you want to jump immediately. Me too. So the positive to keep me from jumping is 1) they have finally gotten out of the pain cause by the Haynesworth and other deals, 2) they are finally beyond the salary cap penalty, 3) they aren't saddling themselves with bad contracts (of course one can also argue that's becasue they don't have good players), but I'll stick to the positive side of this one.
Last thing that keeps me from jumping is that I expect to outlive Dan Snyder, and there's always hope that the next owner is better.
Thank you brother...I too am from the same era as you, soon to be 45. I agree with all that you have said and found it refreshing that you compiled and put it into perspective. it looks as though several us are from that era by seeing couple responses after too. I guess I'm just tired..real tired of the organization and their BS.th

Yes, because signing no one or overpaying are the ONLY two options. No other middle ground in there at all.i guess they think we should pay byrd 9m or wahtever it was.
maybe revis for 12m, too.
they prolly also went ape#### when we jumped for haynesworth. i guess that's the kind of stuff they prefer.
He's still a possibility, there was an issue with his physical, FYI.LMFAO...and you don't stop as this off-season free agency gets better and better...Bruce Campbell has now decided to not sign with Redskins.Even those coveted value players are running away from Redskins park...I think the Burgundy and Gold plague is an official epidemic.
I think it's hard to draw a lot of conclusions about a press corner playing behind a great front seven and in front of the best free safety in football.so how do we feel about browner?
risk from suspension aside, what do we think a player of his caliber would cost?
if haslett needs to bring numbers to get to the QB consistently, seems like a good fit. man scheme, big body. he can cover the dez type guys and hold down the fort capably, right?
