OFFICIAL WIS XIX DRAFT THREAD - The War Years (2 Viewers)

This is what friends are for. Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th against Two Balls and One Dong...

J.Taylor enters the game to pitch.

D.Snider lines a single to RF.

G.Hodges lines out to P. (Great play by J. Taylor)

Y.Berra grounds to 1B. They get the force at 2B, but the batter beats the throw to 1B to avoid the DP.

(2 outs and one runner on. Should be three outs, but Yogi = SPEED)

G.McDougald hits a bloop single to RCF.

B.Serena smokes a line drive single to RCF. Y.Berra scores. G.McDougald is safe at 3B in a close play.

(Gil = SPEED)

J.Garagiola enters the game as a pinch-hitter for T.Lee.

F.Schupp enters the game to pitch.

J.Garagiola hits a groundball single to RF. G.McDougald scores.
Yogi Berra and Joe Garagiola were best friends growing up on The Hill in St. Louis. Amazingly, when the two tried out together for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Cards spurned Berra in favor of Garagiola. Oops.

So one friend hustles to avoid the third and final out and the other drives in the winning run.
Jack Taylor can suck a ####, 10+ ERA and 2 losses already <_<

Tough loss for The Champ

Fight for 17 and take the lead in the top only to blow it in the bottom. OUCH!

Game did not help my fatigue BTW <_<
OH, IM SO SOOOOOORRRRY for your FATIGUE!!!!! :homer:

I really don't get my team. Bats seem really solid. Pitching had a big swoon, but overall is really solid. But basically .500 since the beginning of the year.

I'd look for a trade, but not even sure just where to go. I suppose some elite innings or a really good MI? As if all teams couldn't use those.

I could be convinced to move Cecil Travis. I need a SP.

You know where to get a hold of me. :coffee:

The defense is just too much.

None of my players meet your criteria. Ever.

When you're eating my dirt from below in the standings, don't #####. TIA.

Now I want to beat your ### in the standings, Koya. You've put down enough of my players. I will break you.

***OFFICIALLY*** putting 3B/SS Cecil Travis on the block for a starting pitcher. Full season ABs, Normalized slash: .356/.403/.516. Will send SP in return if I can get a 2B/3B/SS type back.

Not good enough for Koya. But good enough for you.

Inquire within.

I had this gem a few nights ago:

I took the lead in the top of the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 14th innings, blowing the lead each time in the bottom frame and ultimately losing in 15.

Extra painful as it was a division game.

FWIW, I really like Cecil. Just can't take on the (lack of) range with Ott, a statue who only has so many errors because he can't get to a ball to begin with.

It's still sad how ANGRY I get in real life, when this happens.

I just realized that an ancient chant of my, the Jewish people, rings as true today, as when it was written (warning, true comedic genius to follow, mostly in Jackie Mason's drunken footsteps):

Hav-ah, Ta-kee-lah

Hav-ah, Ta-kee-lah

Hav-ah, Ta-kee-lah

Wee-ee awl-git druunk

Yeah, that game was freaking crazy. Can't believe I came out on top there!
