OFFICIAL WIS XVII THREAD: Long Balls, Boy Bands, and Booming Economies (2 Viewers)

GOOD MORNING #####ES!!!! And a great good morning to you at that.

Jose Rosado, SP

Jim Neidlinger, SP

Nearly 200 Innings of ok enough pitching. Certainly should be starter 4 viable, maybe a workable #3.

Pretty scary that two pitchers who combined have under 200 IP, taken this late, actually have me exhale a little and feel "better" about my starting pitcher situation.

:coffee:

It was probably dumb luck but I think we nailed it with the $110M salary cap number. $100M would have been very restrictive and pushed draft strategy further into the :nerd: realm. $120M wouldn't have been much of a factor at all with this draft pool.
Agreed. I didn't think it would be a factor, but is going to be a nice little twist. If I get the last two pitchers on my list, That will put me at $101M with six picks left. Will have to be smart with the bench/mop-up guys I pick.

I need a punter.
Agreed. I need a cheap, high innings starters that I can just throw out there once a week and say, "You are going 9. I don't care what happens." Just to give my insanely undefined rotation/bullpen a night off.

Need one more full time player and a few PAs here and there. Seeing as three if my position players are not laying their primary position, had to get an accurate D rating but I'm happy with the D, can deal with Hojo I think with great overall infield range.

Need a inning eater that will only be used as much as necessary and really need to figure out how to use Sanders and a little over 3 IP/G. Figure 50 pitch limit and maybe "team him up" with a dedicated 75-100 IP guy to take the next three innings while allowing Sanders to swing into some relief too.

Being under 80 grand, salary cap shouldn't be an issue at all.

LOOK AT ME!!!!!! I GET TO SPEND MONEY ON MY BENCH PLAYERS!!!!11!!!
What's left of them. Really didn't pay too much head to salary but a couple early choices were made because there were two close guys in my list and one seemed undervalued.

At current pace, we'll probably get to early-to-mid Round 18 today. Probably another full round over the weekend, or maybe a bit less. We'll probably get into next Monday morning early in Round 19 ...
Unless now through Sunday gets pretty hectic, this ain't gonna happen.

the other half of my 3rd OF platoon.

I have 5500 PAs and only 1 guy has an OBP less than .380. Only my 1B, C, backup C, and DH can't steal bases.

Welcome to the club... Tony Eusebio, C

In 2000, Eusebio set a Houston Astros franchise record for consecutive games with a hit with 24, although the mark has since been surpassed by Jeff Kent and Willy Taveras. Because Eusebio was a catcher and did not play in every game, his 24-game hitting streakcame over a span of 51 days in which time the Astros played 45 games. This was the longest time ever for a 24-game single season streak.[1] The streak tied for longest in the National League in 2000. During and after his streak, Eusebio was often referred to affectionately as "The Astro Clipper" in a sort of mock homage to Joe DiMaggio, "The Yankee Clipper" and holder of the MLB record hit streak.

You're gonna run on this guy?
