OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (2 Viewers)

This summer a roughneck from ND tried to fight me and I picked him up and threw him in the street. True story.
Awesome.

Why are people always trying to fight you? I don't get it.
It's because he's so mean.
I'm going to pre-uninvite you to the bar tonight now. Jerk.
Between this and the anti-jellcocked space station shtick, I don't think he deserves you.

I'm a news director for a radio station in one of the weirdest and interesting towns in America.
Are some parts of North Dakota kind of culturally booming with the oil industry? Or is the oil too far away from population centers? Sometimes I get the impression that in 20 years, I might see something on 60 Minutes comparing places like Williston to artistic enclaves like, say, Taos, NM. Or maybe even a very miniaturized Austin, TX.
In western North Dakota (especially northwest), you're in either two camps: 1. You're a newcomer that has brought your own culture and manners with you (good or bad) and B. You're a native that is used to your area being a sleepy part of USA where nothing worth mentioning happens and you just tend to your cattle. The changeover into a more modern culture and society is literally happening every day here. That said, a lot of the overhype of the crime and bad stuff going on here is just that: hype. This area is not becoming East St. Louis, people. Williston is becoming your average mid-sized community that has some crime here and there, but nothing major. I will say that drugs are starting to be an issue here (especially meth). However, most, if not all, oil companies do stringent drug testing. Still, you do have a feeling of restlessness here between the infringed-upon natives and the bored oil workers.

A lot of "tough guys" out here. Get some money in your pocket and suddenly you can take on the world. A lot of that here.

I think it crosses the line when people want to know what we do for a living. would it really make a difference if I was handicapped in some way?

UT Denis Menke, 1960s

Can play three positions without hurting himself. Hits a homer slightly more often than deadballers. Has a pretty gay first name.

Unlikely as it may be, would definitely be open to a trade or two. Have a lot of lefty OFers could use a righty. If I could get a 3B I'd be happy to oblige TRE and put **** Allen at 1B.

Could trade Ashburn, Camili if somehow I could move Allen to 1st, amongst others. Not my PHers though. You need PH in this thing. :coffee:

And I'm not dealing Tiant, either.

One of the reasons I hate my draft:

You could make the argument that my 21st round pick (Sheckard) could start over my 1st (Kauff) and 4th (Kelley) rounders. In fact, he may at least platoon with Kelley.
