OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (1 Viewer)

With the Mc####ty pick, I've accepted that my team is going to suck. I had another, more practical pick in mind here, but #### it. I've got McGwire already, so let's go full shtick.

6.6- OF Sammy Sosa, 2000s

Laugh at me now. Go ahead, I've earned it.
Honestly I think he's the best pick since Davenport.
When I made the pick, I was expecting the reminders that he strikesout a lot. Both he and Big Mac strike out a lot, but they also walk alot, so...
Adam Dunn next?

I no longer need a 1B or OF. :kicksrock:

Any thoughts on Rube from anybody? How's he performed for people in the past?
His SIM performances have much like his life was.
So this...

Within a single year (1903), according to baseball historian Lee Allen in The American League Story, Waddell "began that year sleeping in a firehouse at Camden, New Jersey, and ended it tending bar in a saloon in Wheeling, West Virginia. In between those events, he won 22 games for the Philadelphia Athletics, toured the nation in a melodrama called The Stain of Guilt, courted, married and became separated from May Wynne Skinner of Lynn, Massachusetts, saved a woman from drowning, accidentally shot a friend through the hand, and was bitten by a lion."
I'm just hoping he doesn't leave mid-game for me and chase some firetrucks.

Waddell was unpredictable, and had a habit of leaving the dugout in the middle of games to follow passing fire trucks to fires.

List shtick didn't take off, so I am going the manic-depressive route.

For X

6.13 - Jason Schmidt SP 90's
That is a better pick than most will think. He was going to be my 4th starter.
High praise considering he's X's #2
SCBF starting pitching digs are always the best.
Wasnt a dig. If you look at his performance history and what his average performance is like, his 208 innings are better than alot of the pitchers drafted in the last 3 rounds. He is one reason I have been kicking myself about drafting pitching the first 3 rounds. I would rather have him here than Horlen in the 3rd.
