Yep. That's why Pete Rose was such a crafty pick.We have to draft a manager
NOOOO....Frosty sniped by Pump. Will have to pick later.
exactly what I was thinking when I took himYep. That's why Pete Rose was such a crafty pick.We have to draft a manager
Yep. Wanted Betancourt myself, but dont mind Burke. He's done me good in the past.Holy relief pitchers.
Wow, outside of Thomas, the rest of my hitters barely combine for double digit homers. Ouch.Random observations:
It's funny how much the game has changed over time. George Sisler had 14 K's in 688 PA's and Paul Waner had 14 K's in 746 PA's. Those are just insane numbers when compared to players today.
Out of my six batters, none of them have double digit HR's. I need to address that...

No rush, need to catch up here myself.Headed home from the bar, going to be awhile yet
One of my favorites in the early drafts. Always felt like a great pick, but I probably never used him correctly.10.11 - Hoyt Wilhelm, RP 1960s
Don't love the homer rate, but I like the 2 IP/G and other stuff.
I realized up until this point I had zero players from 1950-1989, so I figured this is a step in the right direction. One of my favorites in the early drafts. Always felt like a great pick, but I probably never used him correctly.10.11 - Hoyt Wilhelm, RP 1960s

I'll text him when you leap into action.Gonna need a few, but dont see X around in any case
Had him twice in these sims. 1 was great, 1 was garbage. So there's that.Let's try: Jeff Kent (2B)

One of my all time fav players. When I was in Jr. High School, I had a PC baseball game that used real time historic players. Back then, it was batting average, HRs and RBI's that seemed to affect the "engine" the most, but the cool thing is that while it utilized real historic players, you still could manually pitch and swing and field. It also used the real historic ballparks, primitive graphics and all, and compiled season stats. Loved the baker bowl.Kiki Cuyler, OF

As basic as the game was, especially graphics (we are talking 1987-88, maybe '89), it is still one of the most fun and best interfaced games I've ever played. It gave you the ability to "control" a curve, the swing, etc long before the game consoles did it seems.
Anyhoo - Kiki, with one year with a huge average, was in the game and rocked.
Combination of overhype and the era they played in. For instance, pitchers in 1968 will get bad normalization stats because pitching was so abnormally good.So what is the reason guys who are good to great players suck in the SIM.
