I was skeptical of the casting of Geralt but the dude is good in that role. It's clear he based his portrayal off video game Geralt in terms of the voice and some of the mannerisms.

Netflix just announced that Henry Cavill will be leaving the role starting in season 4 (season 3 is already filmed I believe). Liam Hemsworth is taking over the lead.

I enjoyed the first 2 seasons but I am very skeptical as I don't like when main characters change actors mid stream.

Same here. Very hesitant with this. Any reason why he's leaving?

Cavill resigned up for the Superman movies

Cavill really kills it on this show and knows the character super well because he’s a nerd. I have a lot of trouble seeing Hemsworth doing well with it but maybe he’ll surprise.

Unfortunate news, Cavill played the role perfectly. Some speculation on the interwebs it’s because of his concerns about changes to the show or not keeping to the vision of the games or the books. Personally I think thats probably just the fanboys looking for bias confirmation as a lot of them hate the show (like nearly all online fandoms these days )

I think it’s as simple as scheduling issues and Superman movie money >>> Netflix tv show money.

Someone on the writing team was in the news saying some of the show’s writers actively hated the source material, so it might not be all sunshine and rainbows behind the scenes. I don’t know what he makes as Superman, but reportedly he was earning $1 million an episode on the Witcher.

No way to know for sure unless new reports come out about his new Superman deal or more details leak but allegedly Cavill made $20M for Justice League vs 8 episodes of the The Witcher per season. No idea if that includes extra for the Snyder cut or not. Given all the rumors of reboots and recasting Cavill maybe he took less to come back or points on the backend or something. Lord knows Warner Bros is in massive disarray and seriously hurting for money right now so I am sure they were concerned about costs.
